A quick disclaimer - A lot of these videos use information from the witcher wiki, in some cases I do read directly from the pages, I do always make sure to include my own thoughts and other information I know myself, but I just want to make sure everyone is on the same page here. Even though I use information from the wiki, I do still create the videos, with time, effort and a lot of editing! The idea behind the lore videos is to present the information to you guys in a fun and more interesting way then you guys having to get the information from pages and read it yourself. If anyone isn't okay with this I apologise, but since day one I have always said where I get the information from. Thank you for reading.
Witchers: are able to withstand 2 days of torture
Also Witchers: die from 5 meter fall
unless they know how to roll when they fall
@@hassouss4512 Geralt must have missed that lesson.
Jack Gao also Witchers: die from a pitchfork
@@davidbeaulieu4815 actually, most people did when they didn't read the tutorial.
@@gabrielebuonocore2896 Ok in the witchers' defense, they would die if they're against an entire city, alone.
I fought this guy on deadmarch. I was barely damaging him and I thought this was intended. It was a very long battle but I finally managed to kill him, only to later learn I was carrying the prop sword of the theater quest 😅
Oh my God! You'd think that is a stupid mistake but that happens to the best of us and it's so fucking funny when it does but you actually won the fight on death march. That's just insane.
when i was fighting him on deathmarch i just used axii and then geralt one shotted him lol. idk if it was a bug for me or if its something normal
Congratulations on your challenge run, though.
lmao
The only thing that sword was good for was smacking Dandelion on the ass.

Angry peasant with a pitchfork: im about to end this mans whole career
Bjørn Pedersen god tier comment.
Gaetan sure showed him and the rest of the villagers
that little peasant shit had his whole life in front of him! as soon as he got involved with the mob, he starting using fisstech, and this is where things really started to spiral out of control. he eventually took another man's life... with a fucking pitchfork! what a waste.
Bjørn Pedersen looking back at history. Angry United peasants with pitchforks have proven to be the scariest force to ever exist.
@@thedarkwolf6967 That might be true...until World War II.
Then a bunch of dudes with: machine guns, tanks, sniper rifles, battleships, aircraft, and atomic bombs became the scariest force to ever exist.
I was legit surprised confused that he was a witcher when he used the signs since he doesnt even look human.
Honestly the first time I ever played I was little confused too aha
@@WitcherGeorge haha, I thought he did all that I did, like copying me so i didn't use signs because then he would do it aswell. Damn it was a hard fight on death march when you are 2 lvls below
That's why you read fucking notes
MrKuriIIko LMFAOOO
I read the journal and I was surprised too, I did expect to fight the witcher, but after all what he been through, I didn't expect him to fight like an witcher.
Kiyan's story just breaks my heart. Regardless of what he did, the torture that lunatic put him through was way more than he deserved. I really wish Geralt had tracked that Mage down and given him a taste of his own medicine.
I dont feel bad for him, but i did want to kill the mage as well. Hopefully the witchers version of the inquisition got to him.
K Unknown I’m pretty sure the mage died
@@17DogsInClogs The mage dies. His final notes pretty much suggest that
Regardless of what he did? He killed a bunch of researchers among other people!
On the contrary, I hope there's a way to just get the reward and let him suffer for all the eternity. The mage did well on avenge those poor egg-heads even by accident.
@@CP-jk3tc did you miss the part about the mage killing a ship full of people so he could kidnap Kiyan? Besides, Geralt has killed plenty of folk. In the first book Geralt kills a couple of hecklers to demonstrate to his potential client how effective he is at killing.
Milk of the poppy reffers to what you'd extract from opium poppy. In other words the professor was administering witcher Kiyan some good old morphine.
Mellow Waters which is an opiate
clxwncrxwn yep, he said that
Probably closer to fentanyl, or at the very least hydromorphone (which is like 10 times stronger than morpine) taking a straight extract from the poppy is going to be stupidly strong. Regular morpine isn't all that strong, at least compared to what we have now.
Closer to pure Opium. Opium predates morphine and all forms of Opium derivatives, its far stronger and, arguably, less addictive. Other than that it's true what you've wrote.
The crazy cat lady just a bit west of the Portside Gate in Farcorners has a diary that can give you the Cat School Gear quest when read, apparently she was involved somehow.
While fighting him after reading all of that, i noticed he used the quen sign a lot, and i felt it was almost like he still had a lot of will to live, even after all he went through.
Sounds plausible, but don't all the witchers u fight i.e Jad Karadin, kiyan and the other cat witcher use Quen alot? Might just be their style which was programmed.
Well so did i the whole playthrought,my most used spell
If you read the sociopathic mage’s journal, Kiyan was possessed by a demon.
@@kd-hw2vk thats whats said about every witcher
Except Kiyan was actually possessed with a demon by the mage, unlike the unfounded insults of the hoi polloi.
Just read the book you probably didn’t find in your playthrough called ‘laboratory notebook’. Google it and scroll down to Day 26. Unless you even want me to quote the sentences?
can you do a video on regis? I would love that, he is one of my favorite characters and i think there is so much more to him.
I'd love to!
Regis is really old and mysterious. You can tell he cares for humanity even if humany would despise him if they learned that Regis was a vampire in Toussant.
Regis feels for Geralt because Geralt fought with him back when Regis was human. Regis sees Geralt can't hide his nature as a mutant so he is sympathetic to Geralt. Probably worries about Geralt going psycho like Detlaff.
Theodore Bear Regis was never human.
Yes please do a Regis video!
@@WitcherGeorge looking forward to that video!
i wish they could just make more dlc.. remake witcher 1 and 2 in the new engine with the same controls.... i miss this game so much
Yeah I wish they remade the first 2 gamed too. CD Project Red get on it!
Hagonm well they’ve just sorted out their legal battle with Andrzej so I think they have the green light to make more Witcher games

What now u ?
I love the School of the Cat armor journey: I wouldn't leave home without the full set. I remember being so scared to jump into that pit of Drowners, in the underground laboratory! But getting to fight The Mad Witcher Kiyan at the end to the trail, is quite the reward. I may not have understood the full extent of his story before now, as I may have just skimmed over some of Dandelion's journal entries, from time to time.
Same, I really like the schools of the cat as well and was happy there were at least 2 quest that involved actual living, breathing members
@@mohamedelkayal8871 That's right. There was another school of the cat quest. "Where the wolf and cat play" was an excellent but tragic tale.
What is the tale?
@@blair5475 "Where the Wolf and Cat Play" is a mission you will coma across in the Witcher 3, that is related to the school of the cat. I ain't spoiling it for you. If you want spoilers, go read the Witcher Wiki.
The Feline gear is the best. Combat actually becomes fun when I use it.
This shows how the "invincibility" of a witcher can be thier own curse.
Not everything that doesnt kill you makes you stronger, it can make you go mad as well.
Damn nicely said dude
"Witcher 3? BAH, more like 'Just Three Witchers!"
Ba dum disss
Witchers being invincible to harmful things....They should have send a Witcher to clean up the roof of Chernobyl :p
That's an interesting thought. I wonder if there's anything similar to alpha or beta particles in the Witcher universe. I mean, assuming it's like ours but just with more jazz in the magical area, I'd guess there is some form of harmful radiation.
@@Thorogrimm I wonder too. There are certain times in the Witcher where it gets pretty low-level science and nerdy...in a way (don't know how to say it otherwise). For example, during the Keira Metz side mission there is a part in Alexander's notes where he describes using bacteria as a weapon. I love these kinds of details in the Witcher. I have no idea about radiation in the Witcher universe though
@@Thorogrimm In Witcher 2, before the battle with the kayran, Geralt and Triss have a conversation after she examines the kayran mucus. She talks about cancer cells, genetics, mutations, and natural selection.

hmm ye , but it would be waaaay too dangerous even for them since if they fall from just like 3m they will die . xD
@@lukalalosevic200 Well, what about Quen? :)
I find Kiyan's story very disturbing and saddening. I admit there's a lot of times witcher 3 spooked the shit outta me. Entering crypts, caves and ruins are so creepy. Kudos for CDPR for putting a horror vibes in the game like without even trying. I was really shocked back then when I saw Kiyan while I'm looking for feline gears. I fought and killed him and I felt sad coz he's been through a lot, he was tortured very disturbingly in the name of discovery.
The hym quest and the red miasmal quest genuinely had me on the edge of my seat.
@@Jenna_Taliayess.. i was gonna say that
Isn't that mage character who experimented on Kiyan, was also mentioned in the last Witcher book "Season of Storms"? In the prologue witcher slayed one of his abominations called "IDR" from his name.
The fight with him was pretty tough on the most difficult setting.
He was so thoroughly broken. Poor character.
The child trainee witchers story in Kaer Morhens destroyed signal base was depressing as hell, the moment when Geralt buries the kids bones and sticks a pair of witcher swords on his grave was just breathtaking.
I read all the journals and he always intrigued me. I pronounced it like Kie Yin
I'm here from Gwent after wanting to learn about the lore behind the card "MAD KIYAN". thank you for providing such a great video with the lore of this Witcher! Excellent job!
Always saw this card in gwent and wondered who he was. Nice video explaining it.
Everytime i see these videos, listening to the soundtrack, seeing old characters it makes me want to play all from scratch again. Just remembering how fun this game is and how the characters are so well written. I know you can relate :)
I thank you for making such interesting viedeos for us.
This is a great vid man I'd love more of these.
Despite what Radovid's mad persecution may lead you to believe some mages did actually deserved to be burnt at the stake.
Could you do a video on the catriona plague
I swear I never knew this guy existed in game. Never knew a battle could be done! Thanks for this new Intel!
The Witcher World is so Fascinating!!
I've been slowly playing Witcher 3 for 6 months now. Doing 2 quests a day basically Looking for small details. Can't get enough of this shit.
@@colin7375 Did you finish it?
Right after you mentioned the cat school gear I raided a house and got me a note that started Cat School gear scavenger hunt. Lol
Love how clearer things get after I watch your videos on witcher topics... Even after several playthroughs (most of which with a feline style build), I still had some questions about this character
“And that just proves the vitality of Witchers”
So THATS why women like Geralt so much!
No good, no evil. Only pain.
"I mean sure, it can mutate and kill them... but they're still alive."
Seems fair huehue
Witcher lore on Golems? I went to the mad Witcher to grab the Cat gear, found a bill of sale for the Golem guarding in the adjacent room
I knew they were magically bought to life, but the fact they’re “crafted” and “sold” pre guard duty with what appears to be a warranty and the ability to be “serviced” aswell surprised me😂
I encountered the mad witcher Kiyan a few weeks ago on my playthrough and was curious of his origins. Thank you for making a video about him! :D
was waiting for this
Why does your Witcher look so much better than my Witcher? Is it mods? Because I play it vanilla.
And if so, what are those mods?
Graphics probably depends on your specs on your PC but if you are console then idk
@@babycloud1595 My PC is solid and in graphics options everything is set on ultra. Still, though... It doesn't look like that. Pretty sure it's mods, but I wanna know what mods exactly.
Literally just found him, then this video shows up in my feed.
What I finds fascinating about this character is he’s under a city that has people living there. Imagine if he got free or something.
I hunted the cat school diagrams immediately. I want armor but I also want to be fast.
I read Kiarn's story. Kiran disappointed me. I thought he would be more aggressive and skilled. I told his body to rest as the payment for his contract of suffering in the world.
No one is a saint and witchers are not hired to hold babies and give people flowers.
when i fought this guy the first time i thought it was a random zombie wielding a blade. but then when it attacked me i suddenly notice that this guy is a witcher straight away. i didn't like read the journal that this guy had but from the way he looked i can tell that this guy has been through a lot of shit.
(the reason why i know he's a witcher straight away btw is that his fighting style is literally just like geralt/witcher)
doesn't really "explain" how his Gwent card can do what it says... but the art is absolutely stellar
Just bought the witcher 3 last Monday, and I'm having a blast! It's a lot of fun 😀

Fuck yeah! My buddy and I have said the same thing probably about a year ago. That'd be awesome
Must be the work of O'Dimm
So this video comes out litteraly the day after I discovered and did the quest. Interesting.
schweet thanks :) awesome video. I want that cat school vid plz
I mean it says the school of the wolf is the only operating school at this time and they dont look like there exactly training a whole lot of new witchers.
The undisputed best witcher channel on UA-cam
I say The crew of the ship might've annoyed the basilisk on that island. I think the story is continued when exploring the lighthouse when you climb to explore...Dunno exactly what happened but I think they were killed by Nilfgaardian city guards.
I just stumbled upon him by accident what an incredible game!
Anyone else notice that at around the 4:46 mark, there is a picture of the half sunken ship. Around the top of the hull, of said ship, is a series of drawings, that i believe are of a flayed man. These same drawings can be found on the door to menge's office, in the mission with geralt and triss. Infact the camera even cuts to these drawing just before you enter that room. The camera cutting to them might signify something of importnace about the drawings. Now i am seeing this same drawing on this ship, it makes me wonder if there is some connection. Anyone else picked up on this?
This poor former Witcher, sounds like the story of Lisa Trevor from Resident Evil 1 Remake! Someone who was tortured and experimented on to such a extent, eventually broke their minds, is now reduced to a husk of what they were once were! Their physical bodies nigh impossible to kill! It took the Spencer mansion exploding to finally put a end to Lisa's suffering, just as Geralt, if you choose to, to give Kiyan the peace he didn't have in life! Like you said, Kiyan did his fair share of horrible things, but, not even he deserved this!
Christ, mate, talk about fluffing out your video with endless repetition and stating the obvious.
I came here to learn something, not be told "a witcher, from the school of the cat, who wasn't from the school of the wolf, but the cat, etc etc fucking etc.
I was confused when this creature started using quen
All the School related gear quests end at the corpse of a Watcher from said school that died in pretty gruesome ways. It's kinda depressing.
You don’t see Witchers, accept this one. And that one. Those two and that one, those two you can kill or let go, that one who this video is about.... yep, no Witchers in this game..
I was surprised you didn't mention Kiyan in your School of the Cat lore video.
This Video is fantastic love you're work
And this is really sad
How many Witcher’s are there? Would they be considered common?
Kiyan might be an easter egg for cyberpunk 2077, because Kiyan's full name is Kiyan Ooreeves
I absolutely loved this gear quest line. You re-telling it here brought back some good memories. Great video George 👍🏻👍🏻.
The depths of Witcher world is just so amazing & CDPR really expanded to a great level that might be better than OG author. I really wish the Witcher Author isn't much of a douche in which probably we might already get a new witcher game early stage development if not because of the greedy author debacles. smh.
Maybe CDPR should make their own similar dark fantasy world again (after cyberpunk of course) like what Bioware did with Dragon Age "Thedas" (from D&D & Baldur's Gate), if the witcher author still being a greedy old man.
Well world is black and white. You don't know what contract they had, some articles implies that CDPR have broken contract terms too.
Just saying don't make Sapkowski devil and CDPR saints. It is not that simple.
Please can u do new witcher schools lor vids
I was one of those people that didn't read hardly any of the extra notes or journals, but I knew this guy was a witcher when we started fighting. Anyways, very entertaining and interesting video. I'm gonna go binge more of your videos now.
All of this I could know if I just took some time to read the entries and understand what's going on.
Love your work and lore's, please keep it up X
Thank you!
That guy, when he start to talk, scared me af.
Damn this guy is worse than Ramsay Bolton
i found this guy at level 5 he killed me in one hit so i tried again and i stunned him with axii and got an instakill
thanx, I did read the notes and did assume he was tortured and or experimented on but it's nice to hear such complete story, him saying "no good, no evil, only pain" in the game really struck with me I though it was so creepy and wondered what exactly happened to this man and what his story is. kind of sad and tragic. :((
I wonder. Would technically an elf or dwarf be able to become a witcher? I dont know if the question was every answered in the series
It’s saddens me while searching around and learning about all the sad fates of the witchers in the past.... it’s like looking at your brothers’ journey and know that almost all of them didn’t end well.
Everyone who holds Witcher diagrams are unlucky lmao. Kiyan and the guy who had the Grandmaster Feline set got played.
When I first played I spent like 10 minutes just blocking because I noticed he swung and blocked like a witcher so I hoped kiyan was affected by a curse and geralt would break it
Thank you for this video.can you do a video on that is it worth being a witcher
i never did Cat,except now,few days ago, found this flayed poor bastard.made me hate humans even more.

But how did that insane Mage die?
How often do you want to put witcher in the title?
WitcherGeorge: yes
Hum, always wondered what that roasted dude protecting that sweet cat gear was.. read the journal once i think, but didnt really gave it much attention
Great vid, how about one on the mage Alexander the one form "A Towerful of Mice", he is very interesting with his whole researching the catriona plague, diseases and all that, plus I was wondering about his form of magic because he is called a mage by Keira and all he seems to do is research diseases so is that like a form of magic or something?
so much 'Witcher' in the title, the description, the comments...
CoooOOOOOOOL! F"N LOVE THE LORE....THATS PART OF WHY I ALSO LOVE THE FIRST GAME!!!! ALL HAVE BADASS STORY PEICES!!!!
