can we get like some more aircraft to expand our airforce, Reopen the F-16 deal, perhaps some rafales, eurofighters, anything to expand our sovereignty.
realistically, if the defence force was to acquire fighter jets, it would probably be the F-35 as its cutting edge and can fulfil a multi-role function. But having said that, you're not only buying the jet, The government would also have to purchase training flight simulators, an exchange program with probably the United States to train pilots, fuel and munitions would also be a hugely expensive undertaking. Just for 20 F35s alone would be 2 Billion USD, training and equipping a squadron would probably be an additional 1-2 billion, and fuel and munitions probably another couple billion over the course of a few years. So all together you're probably looking at 5 to 6 billion USD, a price I don't think the Government would be willing to make, unfortunately.
Well done guys
