    Excellent video, how much torque do the cylinder head bolts of that model have? I also have one here, and the regulation of valves that carry .......... Greetings from Chile ...

      The head bolts torque to 70-75 ft/lbs, the valve gap is .020 inches.

    Great instructions! I have a 444 that has a leaking front engine seal. Can it be replaced without pulling the engine?

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  2 роки тому +1

      You will have to remove the front axle support to remove the front pulley to get to the seal. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Dave
    Thanks for the video. However can you kindly give me a clear and slow motion illustration on how to assemble the rocker arm for bd154. I messed up when I was removing it.

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  3 роки тому

      LOL, yeah they're a springy SOB and like to go exploding all over the shop! I won't be able to get one done by the time you need it, sorry. Start assembling at either end making sure that the rocker arms line up with the valves. There are 2 different arms and assemble in sets of one each slightly turned in towards each other I believe. Thanks for watching!

    When bolting rocker arms down do you have number 1 at TDC on compression or does is matter? Thank you

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  5 років тому +1

      The rocker arms don't have to be timed so you don't need to find TDC on no.1. You will need to find TDC for setting the valves though.

    Hello, how are you, I am writing to you from Uruguay through a translator. I am putting together an international bd 154 engine and I cannot find information about the torque stages for the cylinder head, I would appreciate it if you have this information and if you could share it with me. Thank you very much hug from a distance!!!

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  2 роки тому

      The manual calls for 75-80 ft/lbs, I usually do it in 2 steps, 40 then 80. Thanks for watching!

    Are working heater plugs a vital part of starting these 444 engines ? thanks Dave

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  4 роки тому

      The BD154 engine, especially earlier ones like in a B414, will need the glow plugs for the first start of the day even in the summer. Usually once started they will start right up the rest of the day and they will start off the glow plugs when working correctly down to 20 or 30 below C.

    Hi Dave
    I am looking for some help I have a international 634 tractor 4 cylinder, I took the head off to replace liners and piston and saw that on no 3 cylinder a valve is marking the piston any idea what would be causing this

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  3 роки тому +1

      A build-up of carbon on the valve or piston can cause contact and marking, check the valve lever clearance (valve gap) as well. Thanks for watching!

    Hi do you put sealant on your head gasket ?and is this engine call for a rétorque after running it for 30 min?

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  4 роки тому

      I don't use any sealant, the manual calls for a retorque at 50 hours but won't be there to do that so I run the engine to operating temperature about 4 times and let it cool and then do the retorque.

    Is there dowel holding the housing around the injector gear?

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15  5 років тому

      I believe there are 2 dowels holding the front cover. Thanks for watching!

      Thank you I have two broken bolts and I'm getting my rebuilt pump today. Tonight the housing must come off and yes I am aware of the timing gears. Than you again.
