Gene Editing Inside the Body Using CRISPR

- CRISPR-Cas9 technology is used to edit DNA to correct genetic abnormalities, but until now has required cells be removed for gene editing outside the body. In March 2020 researchers announced a test of the first in-the-body (in vivo) CRISPR-Cas9 treatment for Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA) type 10, a condition that causes severe, early-onset vision loss. This video explains the principles of DNA editing with #CRISPR-Cas9 and the rationale for its use and testing as a therapy for LCA10 in the BRILLIANCE clinical trial. an amazing process thanks to modern science. A great thanks should be awarded to the patient for undergoing such a controversial procedure. Their contribution to science pushes us forward in spite of uncertainty
I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and I hope that they can come up with an effective treatment for all genetic diseases. Most genetic diseases cause so much suffering without any treatment.
This is so amazing. It's a miracle... We have to be very careful. What a blessing. I'm hoping that this can eventually cure inherited forms of cancer.
Well, how did it go?
One of the best explainers for crispr-cas9. Bravo 👏🏼
Wow wow wow!! This is amazing!
@Website guy aren't you the arrogant one if you think you know what's going on better than the majority of people.
Please I want to know where the CRISPR Cas9 experiments on alopecia have reached
Is it possible to change skin color by using crispr tecnology??
How is the trial result? pls help to update/follow up?
If one person was to use crisper cas 9 on themself for experimental reason would it kill that person? Is it safe to do that? Just asking I’ve never and not going to do that just wondering.
Oddly enough, they sell kits online to try on bacteria. You gotta know what you're doing and fully understand the process. You don't want to go around editing the wrong areas of your genome. I guess if someone had the funding to afford further necessary equipment and a staff to assist, they could. I'm studying biopsychology for this very reason. To do research and maybe work with cas9.
Is possibile build nanotecnology medicine for kill cancer or infections? Tx
Amazing ....hope it works! 🤞🏼
I thought this medication, luxterna, was already available and fda approved? The information in this video appears out dated but it says the video just came out last week?
Luxterna is gene therapy. This describes a gene editing intervention - different approach.
Can I get a fourth set of receptors?
Receptors as in being able to have more senses?
what about using crispr for taking out extra chromosomes from ones dna?
i hope this can treat celiac disease 🙏🙏🙏
I am all for.this
It's better to modify out of the body . What if casper fix something and hurts something else in the body . Like we can't destroyed dna
should show the public the price of these crispr procedures wich is millions of dollars before showing them what it can do.
But it will get cheaper and more effective. Everything is bad at the start. Imagine 20 years,50 years, 200 years. Just imagine
Gene editing is a slippery slope
