That sounds stupid tbh. Even today with the water tests, lead levels are actually going back up. And do you not know what leads application is with radiation? It would make sense for you to be LESS likely to be a ghoul if you have more lead in your system.
The only thing that could be "cool" is if the potential Legionella bacteria, AKA Legionnaires disease transformed into some sort of semi concious thing that infected something and then took over the hosts body, and made them go to areas with lots of water. So they would be something like those things from the last of us, so theres even variation

A new streetcar line with potential for more routes. There are good things happening all the time. A note about potential nearby locations that would have been affected by the war/post war: Dearborn. It's the current headquarters of the Ford Motor Company. It houses major manufacturing, engineering, testing, and housing for the automotive industry, so it would possibly be a target of nuclear strikes. It has two local landmarks, the Henry Ford Museum, and Greenfield Village. The Henry Ford museum is a massive sprawling monument to the early 1900's and the expansion of industrialization and assembly line technology. Greenfield Village is a period park of the early 1900's, and could potentially be populated by neo-amish individuals using the park as a blueprint to build their way of life on.
Another odd note about Dearborn, it has the highest Arab population density outside of the Middle East. Not sure how that could affect a post-war fallout world, but it could certainly add a little spice.

The Highway act is an exceptional point that I’ve yet to hear anyone bring up, and it would be a perfect fit for the Fallout world. On top of that, though this is more on brand for the Obsidian team than the Bethesda team, Fallout has a history of referencing the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and seeing as a pretty important thing that happens in that book is the protagonist’s house being demolished to put in a new highway, and Earth being demolished to build a new space highway, that’s just ripe for fun references.

A potential interesting way to take the Detroit cityscape would be flooded freeways and boats with recycled automotive motors. Mackinaw Island with all the famous locations there(the Fort and the Grand Hotel to name a few) You also have the Mackinaw Bridge there as well having been completed in 57, one of the longest suspension bridges in the world.
Another thing to consider in there is the "animosity" between Yoopers and Trolls(those Michiganders who live below the bridge). Something that just dawned on me is hockey is SUPER popular in Michigan, which could also lead to implementing hockey sticks as a weapon type and hockey pads as a basis for armor. Vernor's (arguably the first pop) was also invented here, as was the first breakfast cereal via Kellogg's corn flakes, so analogues to those could be implemented there in an interesting way (even though neither was invented in Detroit specifically). Detroit is also the birthplace of Little Caesar's Pizza, which could likewise be used in a ton of interesting ways.
A DLC could also have you travel to the Upper Peninsula (or U.P. as we always refer to it here), maybe Marquette as it's the biggest city up there. I mainly think that would be interesting for a few reasons; one: there's notably larger wildlife up there, such as moose, black bears, pikes, salmon, even mountain lions--all of which could make for interesting mutated animals; two: lake superior is so cold that the bodies of people who've died there never surface, which is BEGGING for a Fallout twist--come on, cold, sunken mutants or some sort of lovecraftian prescience there would be amazing; three: it would be the first location in a Fallout game that would lend itself well to an implementation of Sasquatch, who's typically associated with the Pacific Northwest but has a strong cultural prescience in Michigan as well--especially farther north.
And since Fallout loves referencing horror movie franchises, Evil Dead is set in Michigan, which is a reference that basically writes itself.

I’m actually working on my own Fallout setting to take place in my home state of Colorado, which I’ll be making into a series of videos as my own theoretical Fallout game.
Colorado has a ludicrous amount of military bases, forts, and other government facilities, including Cheyenne Mountain (which houses NORAD), the Air Force Academy, and so much more. The potential for military secrets, special weapons, and more is off the charts.
Nikola Tesla used to live in Colorado Springs, which still houses the Tesla museum. The potential of a secret Tesla lab for some crazy SCIENCE!!! shenanigans is very high.
Denver canonically was the research capital of the country regarding the New Plague and developed the early designs of what would eventually become FEV before that research was moved to WestTek and Mariposa in California. Denver and Boulder were given huge facilities by the government in the last decade before the Great War. Denver also invented cyberdogs, and has a lot of technology fabrication in universe!
Portions of Colorado were under Legion rule prior to the second Battle of Hoover Dam. We could see how the Legion has fractured since the loss of Caesar and Legate Lanius to keep them in line. In fact one of their tribes, the Hangdogs, originally hailed from Denver!

The great lakes having a massive waterworld feel to it would be AMAZING, and we could see pre war water vehicles that were being made to fight against the "Ghost Fleet". With a legendary beast that is a prewar robot set to combat mode, but badly malfunctioning so it doesn't appear too often.

Imo, a dense urban environment has still yet to be done properly in Fallout. Detroit, New Orleans, and Texas sound great in concept, but my issue is that Bethesda nor Obsidian have yet to get a good version of a city. 4 was super dense, but barely felt like a city, and more like a dungeon with a sky box. 3 was a joke, with just a bunch of loading screens leading to small cells. And finally FNV had the Strip, and nothing else. Outer Vegas barely felt like anybody actually ever lived there, at any point.
I think the best environment for the next Fallout would be New Orleans. It has a lot of culture and is a bit more homey than the monstrous skyscrapers of 4, probably a but less destroyed than 3 and hopefully denser and more detailed than FNV.

I think this would make for a great DLC where the play and some Archeologists/Historians would try to gather some of the remaining Art from G.R. while a rival faction(maybe Scavengers or something similar) would try to keep Art for themselves(maybe to build a settlement). Plus, I think that the city has enough interesting places to make exploration fun, and I think the Grand River would make for a great place to hide secrets(Ex: turns out there’s a nuke hidden under the Grand River) and random encounters(Ex: A snoopy Art Enjoy who gives you paint).

Why not have Detroit and a nubbin of Canada on one side to Chicago on the other side, with travel by land or sea? (Well ... lake.) This opens up a lot more area than just urban, and with Bethesda's love of superhighways... You could even have factions arguing over who has the better pizza. A Wild Wasteland meme of the Blues Brothers. And aren't there some missing Brotherhood of Steel out there? And Canada. They could include maybe the state capitol building, a ruined version of our Minor League baseball team’s stadiums and ruins of old General Motors plants in the city. I feel there’s far too much potential for exploration and other uses for it just to be a mentioned only capital city such as Sacramento, California (aka “Sac-Town” in the Fallout lore...nickname _definitely doesn’t need changing because of phrasing or anything...), or a throwaway afterthought like Carson City, Nevada.

The Highway idea for Detroit is appealing and I could see it as even like the center of a big metro area could be where a faction base is or where the most major city would be as it would be a layered city akin to giant underground Cities we see in fiction more often then not. Lowland areas where the poor come out and where there is little protection and the higher you go, the safer the road but more prevalance of things like cars too, possibly having a bigger faction rule the roads with some old world cars that have been stolen from residents of this city or scavenged from areas beyond this Metropolitan city. I could see even a faction in this Post War City be a Ghoul based Mafia, or well the idea that its bigger like what you spoke of in the video. Possibly that Ghoul Mafia idea I had would be in the Nuked part of the city, being the original mafia heads with them being tossed to the wayside by younger mafia who took the main part of the city, and the irratiated wastes of detroit is where the Ghouls are left to live. I feel the Enclave could appear, being an arm from a bigger faction based elsewhere, possibly like Chicago but this part is where the Hellfire armor is being made or maybe where we see a reworking of some stuff from Tactics to make it more canon in idea. Chinese Spies could provide its own faction too, possibly working as a counter to the Brotherhood in this location, with them trying to infiltrate the Enclave to overthrow it. Windsor and places around Detroit would also be cool but I will get into it after I get to DLC, but Windsor could also provide for an Anti-Enclave group who were placed there before Detroit was taken by the Enclave, this group realizing the Enclave is just the US government. I could see this idea of a no man's land between Detroit and Winsdor as something akin to the Red Line and the war between Communists and Nazis in the metro games, where it would requre a lot of stealth and would be apart of the early game, possibly even taking from the above ground train depots in Metro: Last Light as inspiration, but its junkyards of cars: The player having to find a way through a dungeon without getting caught or just fighting your way through with brute force, having to duck in and out of things like buses and other large transport vehicles of the sort. The islands in the river though, I could see be military bases as in the years before Canada was Annexed the tension must have been high so having them be military complexes on each side of the border, possibly with their own expirements would certainly be a very interesting idea for what could occur. Maybe Belle Island could be a secondary Deathclaw facility like the Boneyard from Fallout 1, or maybe some alternative expirements, like being Canadian Prisoners of war getting FEV expirements again even though Super Mutants should get something different for once. Fighting Island being a different complex for Canada, being left abandoned as it was like a listening post that was staged as like a Canadian army complex or air force. Also yes, Vikings could work especially being people from like Minnesota, where you get people sailing in to raid.
I can also see detroit as a more snowy enviroment where a lot of the region is frost bitten with the area in universe getting the name: "The Dark Blizzard" due to the amount of smoke in the air mixed with aspects like the idea that it would be the perfect oppritunity for a snowy Fallout game.
Detroit DLC could have quite a bit, I mean just south could give you Toledo and you can have a Toledo War based DLC and have a possible joke idea of NPCs being leaders that would have a lineage to the wright brothers maybe. A DLC based with Toledo would just be an idea that is a lot sillier in aspect and I personally would love the idea of the Toledo War in the Fallout Universe strikes again. For Toledo, think Point Lookout or Dead Money as DLC inspiration, being a more isolated story when it comes to DLCs and when there you get a lot more tropey writing and or something that could be sillier. Toronto being a DLC is one I would love to see too as Toronto would be a bigger DLC akin to Nuka World, Far Harbor, or The Pitt, where you go to that world space and it has the potential of being a game on its own, and in the case of Toronto, I think it could be, but having be a DLC can also work given its in major proximety to this Detroit idea and only like one city would be in between the two. The Upper Penninsula is also an idea for a DLC I can also see given there isn't that big of a city up there unless Fallout decides to do its own thing with it. I do not think it would be a good connection for a Twin Cities Fallout game as Minnesota would be the next closest area, like I could see a return to it if we were to get a Twin Cities based Fallout after Detroit, but Detroit would be the better option. Cleveland, Ohio is one I can also see but honestly I think it could work as a Fallout connected to Ohio based in like Columbus or Cinncinati. The other idea from the video in Battle Creek is one I enjoy the idea of, having possibly some prewar robots stuck manufacturing Sugar Bombs and other cereals that would be introduced in this game and be like that Sugar Bombs are the least Biodegradable cereal that we see in Fallout hence why it is still everywhere unlike these other cereals, and the Charms Gang would be a funny idea and I am onboard for it.
The only DLC idea I disagree with is Niagra Falls as that locale would fit more with a New York based Fallout IMO, and given the big apple is where Fallout seems to be going next, I can see it being there. However I still think New York should be done for Fallout only if they do a gigantic map as NYC is a good spot, but New York is a bigger state in the north east so you can do a lot more with it than just the big apple, although focusing just on the island is also plausible, working as a way to get 2 DLCs more inland but also maybe having a visit to other locales in that area being closer because ngl... I want to have Rhode Island be its own game, the whole state would be small enough for it and Rhose Island would be able to get very weird and it would deserve its own game to itself.
    _____________________________________________________
My suggestion is to look at Tucson and Phoenix as a sort of next step from New Vegas because I have like a thousand ideas and all of them would expand into Mexico in some way since I am in the Southwest and Mexico and Arizona are some of the most beautiful natural wastelands with some of the most unique climates. Also you can have a lot of Cazadors. and maybe the Chupacabra Dogmeat would be cool too.

All I can think about is that scary movie scene where Brenda is like “and here is Detroit” and it’s all burned down and destroyed …. then she’s like “and here’s Detroit AFTER the attacks” and it’s exactly the same but with aliens lmsooo

not related specifically to detroit, but i think the intro song for the next fallout game needs to be we'll meet again by the inkspots. it could fit nicely with the scenery of a post nuclear area like the hypothetical fallout detroit.

I'd love to see a fallout set in a remarkably intact and untouched Louisiana. Baton Rouge literally looks like a city from fallout. Look up Huey P. Long and Long Allen bridge and lake pontchartrain causeway. A fallout with greenery and unique landscape would be much better than what we've got. In fallout 4 despite it being over 200 years later, There should be green grass and trees. I'm sure it can still manage a fallout vibe even if you add complete greenery.

Based on this video, I would say a Fallout in Detroit would be really neat/interesting. Would also love to see a Fallout based outside of the US. There's a really interesting Fallout 4 mod in development which is pretty much a whole new game that's based in London (which looks absolutely incredible), and it's got me thinking, how would the rest of the world be doing within the Fallout universe? What other wild factions could there be? What pre-war drama would we discover on old terminals/holotapes while exploring ruins?

My favourite area would be somewhere in Switzerland. Not only because it would be an option to show Europe for once (and maybe have settlements in medieval castles again after you know, medieval times), but also because Switzerland has even today enough fallout shelters for 100% of the population plus 20% on top. I once heard a saying that summarises nuclear war pretty well. All who would survive are some world leaders, cockroaches and 8 million Swiss

Well... i would probably like more Chicago, that vertical setting would look great. And Chicago river could be used as large settlement with focus on river trade.

There is another fort on the Canadian side. Fort Malden. You can see the nuclear power plant across the river. Windsor also has another tunnel just for commercial trains. I mean chemical and oil tankers. The town of Tecumseh is named after a native tribe, and could integrate a native tribe. Windsor has a lot of manufacturing. They use to do all the work for the big 3. Windsor used to hide black slaves that came from the U.S.A. and help them be free. There are a lot of wind mills out side of Windsor and a lot of farming. I used to drive under this dark tunnel that looks like something out of fallout 4 by the old fisher building that was driving to Mexican village. There is a lot of potential in a Detroit fall out. I agree.

As a Detroiter, thank you. My city is a hellscape of horrors, but it would be surreal to play a Fallout Detroit seeing Red Wings gangs or armor. Or seeing streets I actually walked around. That would be a dream come true

I've seen a few fandom ideas for a fallout game set on the big island of hawaii. It's still technically set in the USA, so it wouldn't be breaking Bethesda/Interplays 'no fallout game will ever take place outside of the usa' rule. Plus the somewhat tropical island environment would make for a very different setting from the other fallout games.

You could see about making the map feel huge if you incorporated cars as a travel system to the different cities rather than having one big open world map. Idk if it would make things easier on the system

As far as "iconic" landmarks go there is a large underground mine/network of caverns under Detroit known as the salt mines. At one time a thriving industry it fell into disuse in the 50's as better transportation caused easier salt mining elsewhere to become more financially successful. The space is still there (I remember taking a tour there in the 60's) and could be, in a fallout game, a safe haven for a faction or group. River Rouge was not just an industrial area but a highly toxic chemical enviroment even in the 60's and 70's and could be considered a host area to further mutated creatures. Lastly Chicago is not far away and is referenced as a onetime home to the BOS head council. Might get a lot of lore or could possibly be still another dlc. Good vid

there are actually two tunnels one for pedestrian traffic like you mentioned and another for cargo trains that is further west. Peche Island was the summer home of the wife of Hiram Walker, founder of a local brewing company. you can still see the remains of the foundations today.

I say Miami should be the next in this series. I bet there is a lot of land marks, only Bethesda Fallout game to take place in Southern USA, and has lot of DLC content to. We could have a boat ride to a Cuban colony to stop another nuclear attack( referring to the Cold War in real life) that could be DLC or real game. Either way,we start in Miami. The Everglades could make DLC appearance also, where there will be a lot more Gaterclaws than Nuka World. This could also be great for Marine radiation creatures (which would be terrifying to see a mutated shark angler fish hybrid). Many other things to as it would have a different atmosphere then the Northern USA.
Edit: Imagine what a RAD hurricane would be like😮.

I'd like to see a Fallout game set in Seattle, Washington State. Little Bias since I live there but Washington has a lot it could offer to the Fallout Franchise due to our history newer and old. A few examples would be how close we are to the Canadian border, Our Native Tribes, Landmarks, and how we've treated our minority groups throughout the 19 and 20th centuries. A Washingtons Politics would be something that I'd love to see explored in a Fallout universe. We also have respect for the US military having a lot of 'Navy Towns', Shipyards, as well as being home to Boeing. Regarding our treatment of minorities during the 20th century I would predict something similar in the fallout timeline when it comes to the use of prison camps and Washingtons proximity to both Wartorn Alaska and Occupied B.C. A Washington States culture in the Fallout world could very greatly.

FallOut: New Orleans would be cool. The Superdome would make a great landmark. All the voodoo factions. So many haunted places where ghouls can hide. There could be mutant alligators and cotton mouth snakes. Baton Rouge isn’t that far away where there’s Tiger’s Stadium and the Capital Building. I think New Orleans has potential.
Edit: Nearly forgot about The Civil War stuff, large plantations, mutant mosquitoes, The Gulf of Mexico. Hell, there could be mutant shrimp and crawfish.
