Part of the reason why Lowko is my favorite is because I have a good idea of what’s going on without having to look at the screen. It’s basically my daily radio show routine haha
The reason robotic units take supply is because they're mobile. They require a supply chain to function, whereas static structures can have stores underground and be self sufficient to an extent. The widow mine needs charge, fuel, more missiles. Turrets can be built with enough resources. That's my take on it
I'm just here to clear up a bit about the missile turret, that seat in the middle is the operator cockpit, means someone can sit there and control the turret, however, the missile turret is fully capable of automatic operation as well (info taken from the StarCraft Field Manual, Infantry Edition). That's probably why it doesn't cost supply. As for the widow mine, there is no one in it but it's being piloted remotely.
Lowko the guy in the passenger seat during rally car and desert races is called your " # 2 " literally Number 2. Also sometimes referred to as "Navigator" or "Navi"
I’m pretty sure the passenger in a rally car is more of a coach giving guidance on how to approach the course like speed and angles for turns and so on but I could be wrong
Grubby, playing orcs in WC3, he always kills critters on the map. It prevents bumping and pathing issues and prevents undead opponent from getting free corpses. He doesn't just hate the critters.
Missile turrets don't cost supply because they are static defense. You can't haul a missile turret over to your enemy and have it start shooting. Doesn't matter whether there's a man inside or a robot. You'd have a far better argument to make crawlers take up supply, since they can be moved. And if your opponent is also Zerg, you can move right into their base and start attacking with them, provided they survive long enough to dig in. But they can't be burrowed off creep, so aren't really mobile military units, like Lurkers. Many Protoss units are entirely AI, too, but cost supply. Because they are mobile military units.
Terrans learned something through research from both Zerg and Protoss. It could be that medivacs are powered by some Zerg queen slime so they can shoot regenerating beam (transfusion), and widow mines could be controlled by lost Terran souls collected by some Protoss relic crystal :O Killing the ursadick though xD
2nd person in the rally car is somewhat navigator, more-so course info bot. They let the driver know how sharp and long the next turn is so that the driver can change their approach. Ie: right 3 short (right turn, gradient of 3, short duration) or left 8 long (left turn, really sharp, long duration)
What the co-driver reading the map does is he tells the driver where to go, he has memorised the best route to take and how to go bout it (tight turns, where to accelerate or not).
