I'm pretty sure there has been a quiet upgrade to personalization since it was released. I think it is now considering our rendered images and maybe our upscaled images in its development of our style. I do a lot of project work where I will work on a specific goal for hundreds of images. A month ago, I created a lot of flooded apocalyptic cityscapes at sunset. My current results for "city street --p 8ly21t6 --seed 777 --s 1000" produces mostly flooded urban streets against brilliant sunsets and colorful atmospherics. Apparently my idea of "fashionable" is leather jackets (which also links back to a recent project). Ramping up the --s to 1000 really helps. Thanks!
Your videos are soooo good! I learn a lot from them. And will be trying some of the styles you mentioned. I ranked around 3.5K images and my style is now quite representative of my likes. What I did notice is that --p code changes after each ranking, so if you like your current --p code you can write it down and then continue ranking. I use ranking to find some interesting prompts and then try them with&without --p to see the difference. Btw you can try one of mine - the "fashionable alien" turned out so funny using my '--p srfqibd' :) Thank you!!!
I totally agree that the personalization would be MUCH cooler if liking images in the feed affected it instead of the strange ranking system. I rarely truly like any of the photos in the ranking system.
I actually like that Midjourney handles all the details. They provide other ways to influence style consciously. This seems to work really well for me. I heard it was deployed on another video and my first try made me gasp. Midjourney knows my style better than I do 😀 Over the past year I’ve rated over 8k images. I don’t know how many they take into consideration for this feature but it’s enough. By the way, you aren’t forced into rating specific images. You can skip. I do so if I can’t decide which of the two I prefer. I also skip if I have an ethical objection to both images, such as when both include guns or meat. When I heard this was coming a few weeks ago I thought it was dumb and something I wouldn’t use. I was wrong.
The forcing part came from the fact that I have rarely skipped any images when ranking in the past and wish I had skipped some stuff. But it may be that I am just trying to fight off recognizing my subconcious.
I use Stable diffusion with comfyui, with all the models and loras there I sometimes get depressed knowing that I can never test all the styles and combinations and even every possible prompt, this is infiniity times infinity times inifity......and we only live for about 80 years, and even we like more styles than we can count for ourselves and change our minds continuously...So with that said, what does it matter that your styles can not be locked or change over time with your infinite mindchanges, styles, loras, prompts..... as long as they are beautifull and you like them it is indeed just another quirky add-on on top of all the other quirks....quirks very much like art, style and taste are ever changing, evolving, elusive and strange. So I see this feature as a nice quirky add-on and not a rigid personal style, that should never change. Locking styles in would be another nice addon though. Maybe see if I can find a similar comfyUI node or make one with anynode to do a similar thing in stable diffusion
Totally understandable. I guess my viewpoint is skewed also, because without the locking, I don't want to go and change my own style up too much with ranking, because then this video would be so out of date and my style would look nothing like it does in this video.
Yeah, I know that. But whenever I have ranked, I have just ranked the one I preferred out of the two and only skipped when I really didn't like either of them. So now that I know that all of those choices make up my style, I kind of wish I had not ranked everything in the past and skipped more. But I think in some Discord chats there has been some discussion that the explore page likes should also matter, they just don't update in real-time like the two image ranking does.
You are not forced to choose a picture in the pair rankings. You can just simply skip by selecting 3 instead of 1 or 2. Therefore you can still control your style pretty well.
As I have answered to other people with the same remark: I know there is a possibility to skip. But I have done a lot of rankings before this feature where I genuinely selected which one I liked out of 2 images and rarely skipped, no matter how bad they looked, because I didn't know at the time that all of those choices would matter when determining my "personal style" later on.
@@thaeyne that's very true, i was the same way... And over 5k images in too. Fortunately i had set certain rules in place to supersede my preferences. Any floral related image automatically loses no matter how good it is. It was at this point where i was so annoyed with midjourney incessant desire to add flowers to everything... So kind of lucked out there. But definitely would have made different picks for some of the pairings... But man am i really glad i forced a never pick floral rule on myself...
My suggested idea for controlling the style would be ... a special "style" option that you can set for your own images to designate them as part of your own style.

This feature looks awesome! It reminds me of how CGDream personalizes AI art
