Los Angeles, California - I met my good friend @PeterBragiel for a late night food tour around LA.
We hit four different late night food spots, and we asked the LA nightlife scene where to go!
Pink's Hot Dogs - The famous LA landmark, Pink's Hot Dogs is known for their chili cheese dog, but you can get a wide variety of toppings. The pictures of Hollywood celebrities who've visited Pink's hang on the walls, and the staff is incredibly friendly.
Canter's Deli - Since 1931, this is a Los Angeles institution and it's open 24 hours. Many Hollywood actors can also be seen at this late night LA restaurant eating their famous Corned Beef and Ruben sandwiches. Canter's is also known for their matzo ball soup and lox.
Leo's Tacos Truck - There are a million taco trucks in Los Angeles, but none better than Leo's Tacos Truck on La Brea Ave. Leo's serves up a variety of tacos including their delicious Pastor Tacos as well as my personal favorite, cabeza.
Original Tommy's World Famous Hamburgers - I guess it's all in the name. Since 1946 Tommy's has been serving their famous chili-cheese burger to everyone in Los Angeles.
Most people know about the hyped up In-and-Out Burger, but Tommy's is a local LA favorite.
Overall, I think my favorite LA Late Night food spot had to be Leo's Taco Truck, but Canter's Deli was also a great restaurant. I need to try pizza next time!

“Give, receive cabeza”. True words to live by 💯
I am the voice of my people. 😂
Hey Gareth. This can have a double meaning.. Cabeza = Head.
Straight up
Cabeza is usually cheek meat... not brain. They use a different word for brain
Hahahaha hell yeah
Best Tommy's moment from the 90s...went with a group of friends while we were in college. One guy asked for no chili. Worker responded with "you want burger no chili, go to Jack in the Box!" That dude never lived it down. We still remind him to this day.
Dude! I was in line behind all of you that night. It was the Asian guy who told your friend that!
Yo buddy was smart that chilli be sittin there for days and it will most definitely give u the runs
@@hammer22abledef the short asian
@@hammer22able😮😂yooooo thats wild small world!
You the man Gareth! Thanks for finally coming up and showing some love to L.A!
Absolutely, Miguel! Still so much I want to see (and eat) here! 🍻 Any other favorite spots I need to hit?
@GarethEats Try Phil's BBQ , it's in Temecula. It's one of the best BBQ spots, hands down! About a 90-minute drive from LA going towards San Diego. Also, the best burger spot I've tried, called Hodads. They're located throughout San Diego. That place will knock the socks off your feet.
LA HAS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN THE NATION..PERIOD.
No doubt bro none of that tex mex shit sour cream n ketchup on their shit lol
@@MOTA11000 and a pound of cheddar cheese🤣
@@MOTA11000 I’ve lived in Texas most of my life and never once been to a Mexican restaurant that puts ketchup on anything….?! What kind of schwag restaurants do you eat at? lol
@@MOTA11000you've never left L.A quit lying lol all you just live in that little bubble.
Nope....SAN DIEGO!!!
Cabeza is not brain, it's the head meat. Sesos is brain.
I love late night LA adventures!
I live in Colorado now, but when your drunk Tommys is the spot and the yellow chilies are a must. I want a Tommy’s burger now and I’m sober as heck
Tommy's is my 911 guilty pleasure!
Chili cheese fries at Tommy's is the 👌
"Give or Receive Cabeza is good" i can't believe you said that! naughty! lol I know bastante Español. I'm glad you brought your buddy. The hot dog looked good. When i was a teenager tried my ist chili dog from a hot dog stand. I loved it. I love tacos. When I was visiting a cousin near LA he took me to a Tommy's hamburger and it was ok .I don't remember it well. I do love In & Out burgers. We don't have them on the East Coast yet!
Hahaha, thanks Alex!
i thought i was the only one who caught this lol
Yeah, there are a few around LA Metro area, but the original location is the best. It always tasted fresher.
Great locations. I enjoyed the tour. Thanks for sharing.
just discovered this channel, such good content. Keep it up!!!
Loved this episode thank you
We have so many iconic spots. For me personally King Taco is my late night stop. You get you a carne asada burrito or some sopes…with that green sauce. Ooooh baby, catch you outside how bout dat! 🌮
Ooooh baby, there is so much more I need to eat here! 😅
King Taco is another OG LA spot.
That red chile is fire too!
King taco and taco Mexico is trash hella overrated it’s way better Mexican food
Loved watching this! You gotta try Cupid’s Hot Dogs next! A San Fernando Valley staple!
Grateful and Thankful. Delicious video.
Thanks for watching Mary! 😊
This has serious "Insomniac with Dave Atell" vibes. Nice work! I want a long night out in LA now
I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers... Great video ✌️
Cow tongue is so fire 🔥 You can’t tell me otherwise
100% agree. 🤝
Love you Garth. You are so funny.
I love the interviews/inputs from the drunk locals - definitely fun to see and interesting to hear their opinions
They were all fucking annoying!
Not really. If you’ve heard one, you’ve heard them all…
GREAT PINKS GARETH,, GREATH,, LA CA.OOOHHH CANTERS ,, PASTRAME SANDWICH, CHOP LIVER SANDWICH,, MATZA BALL SOUP.. GO JEWISH POTATOS PAN CAKES..OOOHHH ,, NO WOW!!!! GUYSS GREAT JOB.. PEACE..
KING TACO IN ELA OFF OF 3rd and Ford next to 710! Been going there 44 years! My favorite
I'm from phx I went to that location it was sketch af but never was a burrito more worth getting into some shit for then some king taco the refused to give me lemon or lime just green sauce
If King Taco is your favorite you gotta raise your bar a little higher my dude. There's like a million better places. Personally, King Taco is one of the worst Mexican spots I've eaten at. And I was born and raised in LA.
Yup you captured it perfect
Just started watching your videos, bro i dont understand how you eat so much food, going to all these restaurants back to back in one day. Still, good stuff and enjoying your content
All of those eateries in Los Angeles are fabdelicious. I sooo enjoyed this Gareth!
One of my all time late night places is The Original Pantry. It's been open for decades 24/7. Some of the best breakfast and their home made sourdough bread is wonderful.
Another place i would go but not sure they're open as late as when I went in the 80s and 90s is The Pacific Dining Car in DTLA adjacent. It's a little higher end but the place is old school cool.
Peter Bragiel is an OG travel UA-camr! Good to see him!
Give and receive. Definitely going to share that one!😃
All of these joints brings back fond memories. Unfortunately, now that I'm in my 40s, I'll only be able to eat at one joint every 6 months if I want to stay alive.
Canters had great soups back in the 1970's. My favorite was barley bean. The deli sandwiches were good too.
Love the Land Cruiser !
Youre a legend for featuring tommies should b featured more when mentioning cali burgers.
how did you find Pinks with NO LINE!!!
“Photogenic memory” 😂His mind photographs well!
I love the way the drunk local girls dress, guess it's time to hop a plane down south
During my clubbing days in the 80s, Pink's and Tommy's were regular stops. At 2-3am there would be a line at Tommy's. You can order at both the front and back. I usually got 2 double chili cheese burgers. Back then they didn't have fries just potato chips.
Monte Cristo! Wow, haven't had one of those for over 10+ years! Makin' me super hungry now
9:24 *Mmmm....yes, 🍍pineapple drinks. So good! I had one after the Dodger game on Friday!*
Lived at Tommy's in the mid 80's during the college dorm days as the cafeteria food was pretty bad some nights. I started asking for the chili on the side and I'd add some into my burger and dip my fries in the rest to save a little money those days. lol.
Great video! Needs more chili 🌶️
Haha, we need a Dave-O fast food review feature!!
Cabeza tacos are so slept on but its my favorite taco - so delicious
So many funny sayings are gonna be born from this video 😂
Haha, I need to make one my tagline... you decide! 😅
So many innuendos during your visit at Pinks 😂 “It’s actually really good” can have so many implications…. And Tommy’s looks like the Rochester equivalent to post drunk eats. Shout out to a fellow patron of Rah-cha-cha!
If you're still in LA, please try Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles and USA Burger.
This was fun to watch and I've been to all of them, but OMG,not all on one night! Yikes, your poor digestive system!
Haha, yeah... that was a rough morning after! 🤪
A close second is Tommy’s so you did it right bud!
Thank you so much, Johanna! 😊🙏
As an LA native, they went to the spots!
The original Tommys stand was the shack on the corner. The L shaped building along the edge was an auto repair shop. The building across the street, I’ve never seen open and don’t know what is there. The rest is parking.
Just don't walk down the sidewalks of Hollywood from midnight to 4 Am😂
Lol that’s the only time I loved chili cheese dogs is at Dairy Queen visiting grandma Billie 😂
Haha, yes!! I agree.
Can't go wrong with Canter's.
OVER RATED GARBAGE AT CANTER'S ON FAIRFAX
La Cabana, in Venice is a great late night spot.
Started episode one with a corn dog, now starting it off with a hot dog, what a legend
Haha, an aggressive start to this LA series!! 🌭😳
Manyaman😋😋🥰🇵🇭
😊🙏
Used to live on Fairfax and Melrose. I lived at Canters.
Enjoy seeing the LA food scene. Ha! That taco dance 😂
Please go to Las Vegas. I haven’t been but would love to see you go to the Peppermill it’s so 1970’s and pink and tacky looking with a good menu and tropical drinks.
Please go to Hawaii…. Staying in tents near the water and so many off the beaten paths to try for food of course.
I'm adding all this to my list, thank you Sophia!! 🙏
LATE NIGHT VEHICLES OF EXCELLENCE 🤣🤣🤣
haven't been to pinks in years but i recognize all their faces!! there's no one there wow!
UGH... really want to go to L.A now after watching your video. But, i am from Canada.
I don't think I've ever had a Cuban sandwich with French toast as the bread before.
Need to go to louis burger #2 in Compton ca .. best burgers and chili fries in the city
Tommy’s!!!!
She ain’t lying about taco Mexico fireeeee since 1984
He made the rookie mistake of unwrapping the Tommy’s Burger. If you unwrap the yellow paper from one end only and proceed to eat downward you will be fine without spillage. You can always spot the rookies.
Yup, you got that right.
Canters 👌🏽
Potato pancakes+ketchup 👍👏👏✌
Haha, I did like the apple sauce, but ketchup would work too.
"Let's go drinking after we ate all this food! I really need to puke!" 🤢🤮🤣
Used to go to that Tommy's when we were little
Please do O c next.
“ Give, receive Cabeza”…does he know what he just said?
11:11 give receive cabeza. I live by those rules
Fun fact: Canter's Deli isn't Kosher.
Sorry Gareth, passing on any of the eats. Did you get sick after all that food? Ever tried Cinncinati Skyline Chili?
Haha, that's fair! I didn't get sick per-say but I was definitely struggling the next morning! 💩 Haha, I have not tried Skyline Chili - but I've heard it's aggressive!
@@GarethEats 😆
nah yall slept on prince's pizza that is hands down the best pizza in LA 12:41
Ok so I got 3 spots if you have not been to them to eat at. TEDDYS RED TACOS and the BILLIONAIRE BURGER BOYS and HAWKINS HOUSE OF BURGERS, oh and 1 more spot. OFF DA HOOK SEAFOOD
Awesome! You need to do more videos with Dave Grohl. 🌮
Haha, well played Rob! 👏
Potato Latkes!
It’s either sour cream or applesauce not both combined lol
Some of the food you eat....I dunno...I don't think I could be a food blogger ...haha...
Haha, yeah it's a serious job! 😂
Yes sour cream
Turongs Thai on Hollywood Blvd
Leos was a solid choice
Went to canters and didnt have pastrami?
no way they found lamar
This started with a Bud Light ad. Hmmmm
Seso tacos are the best
I'm adding them to my list, thank you! 👊
@@GarethEats seso are brain tacos. Cabeza is head meat
😁😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🔥
😊🙏
I think he is a closet home. He said "give, receive cabeza" what? You could see his sidekick was a lil serious after he said that. Like he was thinking the same thing.
Bruh , when you get a Tommy's double chilli cheese burger , get fries with it and eat the burger over the fries so the chilli drips over the fries and get chilli fries by default ...duh ....
aaauuuggghhhh frickin' amateurs 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cabeza is not brain, it's the meat around the head. Sesos would be brain.
You forgot the ketchup on the hotdogs!!!!...🤪🤪🤪🤪
I guess real hot dog people don't use ketchup! 🤷🏻♂️
@@GarethEats hey!...(actually...I can agree with that...more of a burger person , myself!!🙂...not a big fan of hotdogs,...so...yeah...I'll give ya that one!)
El Chato > Leos...
El Chato is the best taco truck in LA and it's just up La Brea from Leos..
FYI
cabeza and lengua all day
Prices!
Yes, I should add these in more often - thank you! I always forget when I'm in the moment because it's usually chaotic! 😂
You're in a Jewish Deli....applesauce or sour cream not both!
Noted. 😅
Speak for yourself! Mixing apple sauce and sour cream together doesn't make it not kosher (a reuben is way more sketch). I always put both on my latkes - that's a boss move.
Tacos los cholos in anaheim is the best 💯
Wow...I don't eat tacos de cabeza!...and...I'm Mexican!!
Oh no! Have you tried them? Just not for you??
@@GarethEats uh...I try to stick to the "meats"...haha...I will leave the "extravagant" parts to the more daring foodies out there!!..(hahaha..I'll take the meat, you guys can have the rest!😉...I'm just generous that way ...😁)
How come you guys didn't put ketchup on your hotdogs?
Cabeza is not brain tacos. tacos de sesos are the brain fyi
Could you visit a place that serves seafood tacos?
Coming soon! Thanks for tuning in Jim! 👊
@@GarethEats Great news. I'm really looking forward to that. I enjoyed the seafood meals you had in Baja.
my like 👍 make 2.6 likes let's go!!!
