Brilliant video. Where is the best place to submit Merlin sightings, particularly during the breeding season?

Thank you very much. We manage a dataset on Merlin observations (during the breeding season) and nest locations and would be interested in any information on Merlin during the breeding season, which can be submitted by email to jlusby@birdwatchireland.ie and sightings can also be logged with the National Biodiversity Data Center. Thanks in advance.

Ive seen a few birds that I thought were peregrine in those areas of Connemara. I just realised now that they may have been merlin.
I noticed ye swimming in the video, is that because its the best way to get to the islands without causing much disturbance?

Thanks, Merlin are a much smaller falcon than Peregrine but both species occur in Connemara albeit both in low numbers. Swimming is often the best way to acces sthe islands because they are so remote and difficult to access by other means (boat etc.).
