Keep at it - I have had my 1955 Ford Club Sedan since I was sixteen. Never gets old turning wrenches and watching the miles tick by!
What you need is a Auxiliary vacuum tank. Fords had a football shaped metal tank .I'm surprised there's none there.Next time you go past a junkyard, keep an eye open for a 1982-1990 Mercedes ,a large sedan, under the front fenders they have heavy plastic vacuum reservoirs which would work perfectly, running the wiper and keeping up vacuum to the booster.
LOL I like his comment that he put it in the trunk and it didn't help. LOL
New crossmembers are available through T bird reproductions in Pennsylvania. I put one in mine
What brake pads are you using now to order at your local parts store? What do you ask for?
