    I'm a new boat owner and my kids want to start boarding. I've watched 10-15 videos and this was the one I was looking for! Great video!

    Great job with this video! Really great production quality for a smaller channel too. I grew up learning to slalom ski and drove ski boats all summer for a camp in the 90s and into the 2000s. When kids started showing up and wanted to wakeboard, most of the boat drivers had no clue what to do to teach or drive. I wish we had this video then because I learned most of these tips the hard way. Now that my grandkids are getting big enough to ride I appreciate this video and others so I can teach, drive and ride with them.

      Hoping to shorten that learning curve for new boaters and boarders while making the lakes safe and fun for everyone to enjoy!

    ONE OF THE BEST vids I have seen... to foreword to my children and their friends about actions and behavior needed to come on our boat as first time wake people.

    I'm going to try to he a better driver😂😂😂. My problem is that I have a jet drive and it isn't on a wake boat. I have a really long hole shot. I drove my buddies wake boat and it was a world of difference. This video helps a lot thanks

    This is great content...that tip about turning into the wake to clean up the edge was a game changer for us this past summer...I'll throw out too, might have been a tip on one of your other videos, but for beginners, bringing them much closer to the boat and starting them outside the wake to just feel what it's like to get up really helped some of our first timers. With the rope on the tower, it's like the steeper rope angle gave them more leverage...can't wait for summer...thanks for a great channel!

    Thanks so much for this video. It gave me the confidence to captain our boat this past week and we all had a great time.

    Great tutorials! I would only add for those who own a lower hull boat, a how to on stopping and turning to avoid “spooning” any water.

    Really great advice, Trevor. The tips about taking the curl off the wake and taking some heat off first falls... really insightful. Well done!

    Just got back from riding with a couple of newer guys... I've been riding for over 20 years and prefer the soft start and no more than about 20 mph... They kept wanting me to go faster, at one point they had me going 30 mph 🤦 kept trying to convince them slower is the way to go but they didn't seem to agree, even after they ate it super hard a few times....

    Ah so the guy who was experienced trying to teach us how to wakeboard for hte first time didn't have it right when it comes to straight gunning the throttle to lift us out of the water. live and ya learn.

    I don’t have a tower to connect the rope. I can connect it next to the motor. Does this work?

    • @Trevormhansen
      @Trevormhansen Рік тому

      Absolutely! The tower is a nice advantage to have because it allows for some upward pull when it comes to getting up. It also allows for some advantage when learning to jump because you aren't being pulled down when jumping. With that said there are many pro riders today (myself included) that didn't learn on a boat with a tower. Its a nice advantage but not a necessity. Get out there and have fun!

    Mmmm...where's your spotter?

      Actually, some states if you have a rearview mirror, don’t require a spotter.

    So how fast should the boat go for a beginner wakeboarder

    • @Trevormhansen
      @Trevormhansen Рік тому

      The answer varies a little based on "how beginner" I am going to assume that you mean for a first time rider. For that a lot depends on the size of rider. A young kid only weighing 75-100 pounds might only need to go 10-13 mph until they can comfortable ride with good body position. A adult might need to go 13-18 mph depending on weight and board size. Hope that helps we will try to make a video on this topic.

    17 mph?? That's too fast for a noob. 8 mph day 1, 12 mph day 2 if there getting comfortable. I face planted at 20 mph my 1st time and It felt like I got knocked out for a split. Ruined me to get back up afraid of it happening again.
