Did you even know Downtown Houston had an underground tunnel system that connects all the Downtown buildings? It's a way to explore Houston, especially during those hot summer days.
I've lived in Houston my entire life and walked the tunnels a lot when I worked downtown. Now that I'm retired, I still like to go walking in the tunnels sometimes because, like the guy said in this video, the tunnels are like walking around in New York City, which I love the feeling of.
Anyone else feel he would make make a perfect mafia boss, if he isn't one already. Fuggadeabout it.....woo ha....... are you talking to me ? ........What do you mean I'm a funny guy ? Do I make you laugh, do I amuse you? ...........I'll make you an offer you can't refuse......... Now youse can't leave...... Everytime I try to get out........The house in Toscana? Two million lira I give you the keys
Sorry to disappoint you, but the Montreal tunnel system is much larger and more luxurious. It's also the oldest in North America. The Houston tunnel has a lot of fast food joints. Underground Montreal has lots of shops, and a subway system.
how does someone live there their whole life and not know about the tunnels? it might be out of sight, but don't people learn about an iconic aspect of their own city? If I visited Huston even for a few days, I'm sure I'd find them on my own by accident.
Houston's such a big city, so people sometimes don't explore outside their neighborhood bubble. Since the tunnels are closed during the weekends, they're primarily used by office workers. Surprisingly, many Houstonians have never heard of the tunnels since they're not advertised, and almost all access points are in office buildings. Thanks for watching the video, we hope you get to see the tunnels in person one day!

4:22 that voice caught me by surprise I didn’t expect italian restaurant owners to be lurking in the tunnels

I love his New Yalk Italian accent.
I can’t wait to go back home and go to the tunnels 😢
Lived here since 94 and never knew about this
A surprising number of Houstonians have never heard of them!
This place is like Houston 2.0
I remember back early 1980, going thru the tunnels. The entrance was by Woolworth, since I moved to south texas 20 years ago. I didn't think it exist.

They should build a tunnel system under the Texas Medical Center and Uptown
That would be pretty nice!
Well there is a lot of overpasses connecting different hospitals.
Now I want a Meatball sandwich
went thru them after a Slipknot concert, was very memorable

I grew up there and didn't know about it for a long time, probably because my parents didn't want to pay for parking in downtown!
i never new. i'm going to check it out.
Looks like Freemason symbolism at 4:55 J.P. Morgan chase bank
Like all of Washington DC?
WOW!!!
most likely is. what is the problem?
@@horse69outside EXACTLY.
I suppose that I will never have any chances to visit there anymore since I had been there last three and a half decades./Jimmy
I always forget the tunnels are there
They're easy to forget if you don't work downtown, right??
Where is the best place to park and the street and where is the most fun of all of the tunnels?
Thats so coool!
Why can't it be open on weekends?
Cause people don’t really work on the weekends.
Can’t wait until people learn about darpa tunnel challenge
I don't even know how to get down to it
Is it still open after Hurricane Harvey?
Yup!
Is the tunnels open on weekends
Who owns the underground businesses? So I can come take out a wall of the tunnel and build my own store underground?
They're part of the building above them.
