Imagine our surprise back in 1964 when George started playing the 12 string. We didn't know what that was, or how he got such a fantastic sound. Seems hard to believe now, but that was then. Still sounds great, doesn't it?
When I watch vids like these covering and isolating the various instruments used by the Beatles, it makes me appreciate their music, their style and uniqueness even more.
I have this song on the vinyl A Hard Day's Night from the United Artists soundtrack. John Lennon's vocal on this song is awesome particularly at the end. That 12 string Rickenbacker guitar was essential to the Beatles sound. I grew up with their music and still love it ALL.
This was great, I've been looking for "advanced speed building exercises guitar" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Ganyatty Guitar Gainify - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my brother in law got great success with it.
Wonderful! I now realize why I like your videos so much. They give hope to all us struggling guitarists that with enough practice we can sound just like the Beatles!
Beautiful guitar. On say you love me it stays in Em. Not trying to be smart but just trying to help. I'm glad to see a young person love the Beatles. Been a musician since Feb. 9th 1964.
Great!! I'm just going to be watching all of your videos. when the music is playing I know pretty much every Beatles song by heart because I've been listening to them for 44 years. this is just really a great way to listen as a Beatle fan, as a singer cuz I love to come up with different harmonies, and as a beginner guitar player watching you hit the cords and nailing the solos. Thanks!!
Ah, the Rick 360, my favorite guitar of all time. Few would disagree that the Beatles were the best. But part of why that is, is that they had better taste, not only in writing/composing, but in selection of instruments. They used the 12 string Ricks all the time. The Byrds appreciated the genius of this and used them in their jingle jangle music playing. Musicians of discernment and taste prefer Rick 12 strings to the plain ordinary unimaginative instruments ;-) Know what I mean?
ForeverFabFour And by the way, as others have said, the suit was a really good touch, and timed to the 50th anniversary of Ed Sullivan Performance. It would be great if they made Fab four masks and you put one of those on. That would be too cool. Those were great times.
ForeverFabFour That time period was so great. The suit really brings it back. Its s damn nice tough. Hey, I'd like to hear a brief sound bite I can used. Its the opening chord on Hard Days Night. I believe it was done on your Rick 360. An unmistakable chord as only the Beatles can do ;-)
Muy excellante That Ricky is sicky beautiful. Highly polished. I was lucky enough to grow up during the 50s and 60s so I experienced the full force of Beatlemania and the British invasion. There has never been the like since. ever. Going over to "Any Time At All" cover so I can hear more of that Rickenbacker. The shine on that bad boy is fantastic. Subscribed.
Yes you did a fantastic job on covering this under the radar Lennon classic. You are correct George probably only played the Bridge and lead on the 12 string on the record. However it would have been ever better if it was played on the record. The sound of a 12 string stands out so much.
I used to jam out playing this on a six string guitar with my friends, but one thing I know for sure chord for cord it sounds so much better coming off of a 12 string Rick. Nice !
I went to see The Beatles A Hard Days Night DVD for this song. When John sings "That when I tell you that I love you, oh......" George's left hand is placed high along the fret board near the 7th & 8th frets. Strumming the Em, G7, C, B7 chords. If you learn those bar chords it sounds better on the 12 string Ricky guitar.
CluvVenny I'm afraid you're right. Those chords can't be played at the nut like he's doing. Geo. was playing versions of those chords elsewhere on the fret board.
+CluvVenny That is "voicing", and, is EXTREMELY important to have that right, e.g., the chords in their correct positions on the neck, to get the most accurate, and best sounding authentication of the track.
George, especially, was a consummate professional very early. It’s astonishing to me how being so young his approach to the instrument was that of a more mature musician. When watching him playing live his shapes on the fretboard remind me of Jazz and session musicians.
Hey! Great video lesson! Thanks for sharing. Love your Beatles Suit! Nice touch. Just a small request, if you like, "Another Girl" with George Harrison guitar fills (laughs!) If you can do it... thanks!!
I like the 360/12. Also the 325 you play in other pieces. You have a good eye for authenticity, and you study. Check out Hal-Leonard's The Beatles The Complete Scores. Gives you every note played in every song recorded by the Beatles. When I was building my collection, I generally had to settle for what was on the rack. Consequently, I have a cherry Casino instead of natural, a Jetglo 360/12 instead of Fireglo, etc. Keep it up, man. I enjoy your vibe. You're doing great.
When you think of all the different guitar licks George came up with he was an absolute genius.
He was most definitely a musical genius ...
Imagine our surprise back in 1964 when George started playing the 12 string. We didn't know what that was, or how he got such a fantastic sound. Seems hard to believe now, but that was then. Still sounds great, doesn't it?
Masterpiece i can't get it out from my heart and my soul from the summer of my years.
+Ashra Tempel lol probably
+ForeverFabFour DUDE WHERE ARE YOU
ahahahahahah
Probably 73 journalists with grotty shirts who only got £10 at Le Cirque Club.
When I watch vids like these covering and isolating the various instruments used by the Beatles, it makes me appreciate their music, their style and uniqueness even more.
Rickenbacker is a part of rock n roll history.
Rickenbacher made the first electric guitar 👍✌
I have this song on the vinyl A Hard Day's Night from the United Artists soundtrack. John Lennon's vocal on this song is awesome particularly at the end. That 12 string Rickenbacker guitar was essential to the Beatles sound. I grew up with their music and still love it ALL.
With The Beatles, All you need is love.
The Ric 360 is the sound of my teenage years. It was everywhere, in the air!
The 12-string Rickenbacker guitar was the Beatles secret weapon.
Actually, the Gibson J160E was....
ABSOLUTELY!
And a weapon for mass destruction too :).
And later for The Byrds...
@Jesiah Ayden if it doesnt give me a free rickenbacker then
The Rickenbacker has an awesome sound.
eight inches oh yeah ! iwant one :(
i want one but i don't have £4500 right now
And looks great , im right back on that train with Old Man Steptoe

eight inches it sure does
Wonderful! I now realize why I like your videos so much. They give hope to all us struggling guitarists that with enough practice we can sound just like the Beatles!
You're keeping the miracle alive.
Awesome cover. Thank you for sharing this. We cover this with our band The Trainor Brothers. Such an iconic song.
It's an honor to be able to hear your natural talent . Thank You!
This was a real favorite song by all of us back in 64. Great work on the song Mr. ForeverFabFour.
Nice job! Thank you for sharing God bless everyone happy Easter
I don't play guitar but really enjoy your playing, the 12 string Rick sounds amazing.
This young guy is awesome! I wish he would come back!
I always loved the sound of the vox ac30, it had a nice and ringy sound that fits perfectly with the rickenbacker
Beautiful guitar. On say you love me it stays in Em. Not trying to be smart but just trying to help. I'm glad to see a young person love the Beatles. Been a musician since Feb. 9th 1964.
Great job and I love your Ricks...🎶
Very good guitar playing! I like it so! Greeting from germany.

Beautiful song’ beautiful cover’ beautiful guitar 🎸
Brilliant guitar part. Thanks for sharing.
Very good playing and I like how you have even dressed up as one of them.
Quanta imaginação( e trabalho árduo) de um conjunto para fazer uma música tão maravilhosa como essa.
Obrigado por ter demonstrado como George tocou a guitarra nesta música.

Yeah the suit is great. It is actually a real beatle suit with the velvet collar and knit tie, but i wear it to weddings and dances too haha!
ForeverFabFour

Yes its just an F chord with a finger added on the 3rd fret of the first string.
Love the sound of that Rickenbacker!!
Your vids are great and your guitar collection is the envy of everyone, as is your playing.

You played the song to the tee, very accurate.
That lead was spot on! Nice job, thank you!
Just love the 360-12, great tone, nice cover !!
Damn you are GOOD ! Beautiful lesson … all your lessons are nothing short of FAB !
That jangly, chiming sound of the Rickenbacker is the sound of the ‘60’s...I never knew what it was then, but I do now.
That was superb!
Your tone is perfect!!!!!!!
Man, that Ric is gorgeous!
beautiful Rickenbacker...good job...thx for sharing...!!!

Very good! Thanks for posting! You remind me of Johnny Winter with that thumb pick
Nice cover. Love the sound of the ric. Sounds like George is playing.
The Ric 12 string he’s playing has that classic jangling, chiming sound.
Essa guitarra é linda. Aquela q o GH também usa no vídeo de Paperback Writet ê outra muito linda.

Nice job on one of my Beatles favorites.
Not bad. Bravo. Beautiful guitar by the way.
So George was the beatle who put the soul in the songs
Soul was his middle name .. he was an extremely deep person ...
You are awesome great cover(s)
Wow, really good work, well done!
wow man way to change the tone of the guitar in the middle of the song, you nailed it
Very nice chording I can almost follow you on my acoustic
I love the 12 string chords during the middle eight, a shame George didn't continue with it!
One thing: When he sings "You're gonna say you love me ..." the Beatles play E minor twice, not E minor plus C
I love your covers !
what a fabulous tribute to the Beatles, keep it going!
Loved the jangle!
Excellent.
I love your guitar skills!
Great. Beatiful guitar: D
Sounds superb
