This was soo much fun Jackie 😘😘
We finally did it Nyma!🤎🥰 loved having you!
Love you both!!
Queen Tingz 💜✨
This was awesome ❤
❤❤❤
I admire how Jackie gives others space on her platform. That is good karma for success. May she continue to succeed.
In Miss Aina we trust ❤
Right
Lol she is bitter and messy and blocks everyone who tells the truth about her
@@DD-du2suhere you are, watching her videos.
Tarte is disrespectful and keeps playing in our faces. How are their deep shades not in the store?! TARTE NEEDS AN F.
😂😂
Why are people even checking for them?
@@jazzyj904 Chile. They gotta go!
It’s actually the store’s fault like they were saying. The stores decide what they’ll sell, not the brands.
Tarter has decided they are gonna be in their villain era, it’s intentional at this point.
She’s back when the girls needed her most!! And with Nyma!!! ❤
I feel like us with light complexions gotta avoid the brands that get a C and below as well cause wtf? What an embarrassing turnout
😩😩
I agree
I agree. If darker tones aren't well-represented I don't even look twice at a big brand because like Jackie said at that point it's intentional and I can intentionally spend my money elsewhere.
I agree. I don't. There's more foundations and brands out there, why would I support ones that disrespect darker skin ppl?
100% I started doing that
The It Cosmetics side eye is soooo real. When they launched at Ulta with FOUR SHADES years ago… Fair Light Tan and Rich… more like Vampire, Zombie, Tubby custard, and Gray. 🤦🏼♂️
I'm crying at Tubby Custard!
It Cosmetics is also soo overpriced
Not tubby custard😂😅
It cosmetics sucks at both the paler range and the darker range.... I'm convinced its just a brand for rich older white ladies who tan 😐
Lmao this is sending me
Not having all shades available in store is terrible. Brands that do that should be ashamed of themselves. It sends a terrible message.
it's suuuuper common in the UK too, I feel like you'll rarely see all shades in store here. If you're not in the first, idk maybe 5 shades, or their absolute darkest shade (which might be a true medium at best), and das it baybeeee. Good luck and God bless lmao
*stores
@@bleepbloopskrrr the original comment is correct though grammar police
@@zhariabutler6504 has nothing to do with grammar… It’s the stores not stocking the shades when the brand makes more shades than what are carried in store. Check yourself 🙄
I love that Jackie worked on the born this way foundation and still has critiques on a product she helped produce. I love that she gave them a B+ and not an A+ bc it shows even when she has her name attached to something she is still willing to call out the need for improvement. You keep it so real.
After you & Alyssa blew up Tarte, I stopped supporting (with MY hard earned money) brands that ignored & CONTINUE TO ignore people of color - thank you ladies ✌🏾🥰
You know tart is back in the headlines again right for their lack of inclusion on brand ambassador trips... They are catching heat right now.
Crazy, right? I’d ONLY bought the Shape Tape concealer, but once the foundation came out and I saw how they rolled, I knew I’d not give them my coin again.
Now they’re back on the radar for the same thing, pretty much.
That part where they list the shades stays in my mind
I never used them before and never used them after that video launched
@@cieralove7755 Right? "ESPRESSO." XD
I remember being on instagram and saw some people complain about those that want darker foundation. They literally said “You guys have fenty and others that add darker shades. What’s the problem if this one brand doesn’t.” I truly believe this is the mentality for some brands too.
Omg really???
Tarte said that? Or other commenters?
@@MelissaMNaturealiztabeauty yep they still do
@@kemery22222 other commenters
Tarte continues to tell us they don't want our money. I don't own any Tarte and NEVER WILL.😒😒😒😒
Chileeee not even JUST that but their behavior behind the scenes speaks volumes…I been stopped wanting to support them (not that I ever have) but things like this just keeps giving us a reason to stay clear😅.
Something went wrong with Tarte because I just watched their Tarte vacation influencer thing, and there was a girl there that was darker than the lady above. so I would like to know what makeup she was wearing. But why make the dark girls have to order online?
😯
@@TheCRYSTALLURE facts! That last fiasco of a brand trip did not help their so called 'diversity and inclusion' claims AT ALL! Was not surprised. It's the same stuff repeatedly.
AS SOON AS I saw the thumbnail, I knew it was Tarte 😅
The bigger brands that have limited shades...I can only assume in 2023 that they don't care
indie and small startup brands have an excuse, larger well established brands don’t
Tarte has told us so many times, without telling us, that they have no use for POC. 😒 Let them continue to circle the drain in peace ✌🏾✌🏾💀💀💀
Exactly 😂 Black people gotta stop investing in products that’s not meant for us🙄
Agreed! 😂 I refuse to give them a penny of my money. And they’re really not even all that, lol
Period!!! 😒
@@BFFiongand they’re not! Only thing worth anything is shape tape and it’s not all that either
This duo though 😍😍😍 I’m not surprised by the brands in the “worst” category. And I agree with Nyma, why bother having more shades if they’re not going to be stocked 🤦🏾♀️
It's literally just so they can claim inclusivity.
This was a good way for brands to think about the full user experience for darker skin ranges. I mean they should already be thinking about that lol.
Rihanna was the green-lot and trailblazer….
Ulta kills me because they literally wont put the darkest shades of complexion products across drugstore and high-end. A friend of mine was a former employee and she said that they only put the highest selling shades in store. So sad!
That's a terrible business model because shades not in store aren't being sold because no one has access to them and thus don't check the brand out beyond what they present in store. It's a literal self-fulfilling prophecy.
Or could it just be that really dark skinned people make up less than 10% of the population in the US?????
It does kind of make sense though. If you have product on the shelf that expires and doesn't sell that's not a very good biz model either.
@@agirlisnoone5953 you can actually keep product on the shelf unopened for 2 years before it expires…but that’s not the point, the point is that by saying “these lighter shades sell better” it’s sending the wrong message that only lighter/white shades are the only ones that sell which is not true, if deeper skin tones where accessible they would sell like everything else, perhaps even more.
I used to work at Sephora, and I have to say, there were only a few brands I could rely on to get the undertones and range for darker skin tones right. One of those was Too Faced born this way, and I know Jackie helped expand their shades range and undertones years ago- thanks for doing the good work girl!
When companies don’t accommodate me, I don’t beg them. I move to companies that will. And I give them my money. Tarte doesn’t want our money. Gucci, Fenty Beauty, Haus Labs, etc seem to want it.
This is such an important video for people of all skintones to see. I’m a light neutral skin tone and while I can find my shade in virtually every brand, it’s important to see who’s actually inclusive so we can choose who to support. No matter how viral these brands are, it’s clear that some of the most hyped companies of the moment don’t care about including everyone and that’s not acceptable. Thanks for this powerful and informative video!
I’m ‘bout to cry lol. (Actually I am crying) I haven’t bought a new foundation in literal years due to sticking to what I know looks half way decent on my skin tone. Now I’m headed to Sephora tomorrow thanks to these two icons! Love y’all so much and this was oh so fun to watch!! 🤍✨
thank you for watching 🤎🤎
I love this! Would you do this for drugstore brands?
I love that idea!
Oh we need this! Like at a target
Same! I remember I was So happy when Cover Girl gave Queen Latifah her line. Then Maybelline’s Fit Me line. Then how irritating I found it whenever I’d pass Physician Formula or Neutrogena and see their crap.
And, the next time can you tell us if the foundations smell?
Yes please
Nyma is so bomb and Jackie is Jackie-ing as per always! Beautiful! And I’m so glad that SOME companies get it with the inclusivity, to the others… Shame on you!
Love this Jackie! Because as a white woman, it educates and shows up what people mean by inclusive. It shows us how far apart the shade range is and the fact that deep shades are NOT in stores!!! I feel you , I see you- thank you! ❤❤❤❤ PS LOVE Nyma too!
I love watching these beautiful women having a good time…seeing y’all smiling makes me so full of joy
That Haus labs one was such a beautiful colour 😮 Stunning. You don’t see that quality at the drugstore for the deepest colours and that’s sad!
the drugstore is absolutely still lacking! I think NYX Cosmetics is one of few innovating and really going deep with their shades
L'oreal has deep shades?
I love when you bring back such videos you literally taught me all i know about complexion makeup. And with Nyma 👌🏾👌🏾❤❤ perfection
I love you so much Jackie
I love episode Jackie. As a darker skin person I really need these reviews. So happy my faves got the A+
thank you 🫶🏾
Nyma is STUNNING 😍
Nyma is so beautiful. I love her skin and her darkest shade reviews.
Love the collab! I think Haus labs really Ate and love the formulation
Honestly, even if tarte expanded their shade ranges, I still wouldn't give them my money. Great video!
I'm a person of color who lives in an area with not even a visible minority of BIPOCs. And the dark shades are ALWAYS like, half to two-thirds of the stock on clearance. While I also get mad that I'm often not that many shades from the darkest shade in store (I'm southeast Asian), I feel like having SO many dark shades on clearance conveys another message about melanated people and also feels insulting, but in a different way.
Love these videos. Missed seeing longer format makeup vids!!
Same!!! ❤
I loved seeing Nyma and Jackie together! More collab videos please!
Check out my previous uploads 🌸
Nyma looks so beautiful 😍 I'm obsessed. This is the best collab. Love them both
I used to work at ulta and the reason all the boxes look dirty is because when we get shipments there would pretty much always be broken bottles in the boxes some people would wipe stuff off before putting it out but not everyone
You have the same features I do. I have high cheek bones and inward eyes. My eyes crease like yours. It's so cool to see makeup examples on a face that's like mine. I usually don't see hooded eye models. Thanks I like how the look isn't too much and is natural. That's what I'm going for.
When charlotte tilbury came out and i went to a launch event i was so mad i went home and wrote her a letter (that i never sent). they offered EVERY black person there the same foundation from myself to my friends who were light skin and the artist was like yea well....and made something up. Sir, I'm not there stop lying
I am so glad you both take up space in the beauty community and create content for the melanated queens 💖 I’ve always enjoyed makeup content (though I hardly comment on it bc I never know what to add lol) & while I never really got into makeup for myself, videos like this one make me want to get into it.
thank you 🫶🏾
You’re so welcome 😌 but really, thank you for always representing for us.
That Gucci foundation is chef’s kiss! I’m an in between girlie and most foundations read either too yellow or red on my skin. That foundation matches my skin so well.
It's so good to see two beautiful young women such as yourselves rating products for melanin skin toned folks. You both are inspirational and truly using your platform for such a good cause. Love you both. Thanks you both so much. Just my 1 cent
The sad part is it seems they (these popular brands) are not listening at all!!!!
This was amazing!❤ We need to talk about how some of those colors don’t match the picture swatches either. It makes buying foundation no matter what shade you are extremely difficult.
Brands need to do better. Nyma is so beautiful
Love Nyma and her content
I've never clicked a video faster in my life, miss seeing both of you on youtube like the old days ❤❤
You both are the beauty GOATs… thank you for your hard work bringing awareness to companies to do better with shade ranges ❤
I loved This video. It’s such a shame so many brands still just don’t care. I’ve even notice some brands reformulate and get rid of medium dark shades. It’s horrible. You ladies look beautiful and have done some great work
I love this video! Jackie, us ladies of color owe you a huge Thank You! You have made the beauty industry give us our perfect match in foundation. My heart is so full that you're bringing young influencers into your space and sharing your platform. I can't wait for the next video!
Haven't even watched the video yet but YES, YES, YES, and another YES! I love when my faves collab like this. Thank you both! 🤎🤎
I have never bought Makeup Forever but just because of what Nyma said about them. I will start buying their products. Shout out to Makeup Forever!!
They are awesome good sales too
AAAAHHHH!!!! I’m literally freaking out! I’m sooo happy to see my two favs together at last! Thank you!!! 🎉❤
My two FAVORITE Make-up Gurus!! Love seeing you both together. Wow... 2023 still need improvements! Cheers Beautifuls!
I love that, while not the point of the video, you brought up the lack of pale shades in some foundations ranges. As a person that is hella pale, I find i have the opposite problem and can’t find something light enough for me in a decent formula!
Sooooo good and much needed. Thanks for spinning the block to see who is actually paying attention.
Oh I loved this video. Why did I feel like I was sitting down having a conversation with my girls... Just casually talking about makeup and going over products this was a vibe.😊❤
I love this video! Thank you for acknowledging the consumer being able to find their shade in store. Not many influencers discuss that issue when talking about foundation shade ranges.
Not a Jackie Ad on a Jackie Video. WHAT A BIG FLEX!! SO PROUD OF YOU
This was great to watch. As a dark skinned woman just getting into makeup at my age, I loved this video. Thanks ladies. Nars may have won me. Gonna try it this weekend.
My two favorite influencers collaborating💖 I could cry 🥹
This is such a great comparison! It seems like brands that have makeup artists behind them are the ones that do it better. Happy to see a lot of current favorites and foundations on my radar getting high marks!
The Danessa one was such a perfect match on Nyma
SO glad I watched this!!! These reviews were SPOT on and assisted with my brand elimination process when purchasing foundations now. Thank you both! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You guys look so beautiful!!! Love you together teaching us what you guys know!
thank you 🫶🏾🤎
I truly enjoyed this video. Thank you Jackie and Nyla for sharing your honest opinions and findings on Brands that care enough to include darker skin tone in their foundation color range. We need more videos like Jackie. I love it!!!
i loved this video sooo much. i'm no make up guru but i love makeup and to have this type of info kinda stepped up my game lol so i thank you i'm not as dark in complexion but i will never buy from a brand that doesn't cater to my darker chocolate sisters that's insulting period. they need to step up their game.
Hi Jackie, you taught me, an Indian guy everything I know about makeup and shade matching. So lovely to see you uploading ❤❤❤
Omg the collab i never knew i needed, but want more of
Pillow Talk is as far as I’m ever going with Charlotte Tilbury. I think her products are very average and overprice. To me, her stuff is like “fetch” Something somebody’s trying to make happen, but it’s like not. Tarte is having some kind of malfunction on here I know they have darker shades. I’m just now trying out the Make up by Mario product from the sale. but if I don’t have time to play around, my Il Makiage or Fenty is still my go to jawns.
You both are so gorgeous! Keep holding beauty companies accountable!
Two of my favs ❤❤. Thank you both for all you’ve done for Black women in the beauty community.
This was AAAAHHHHMMMAAAAAZZZIIINGGGGGG!!!! THanks Jackie and Nyma for this totally informative demo!!!
Thanks for doing this again, we needed this look at foundations and shade range
omg nyma's face when she saw ilia pop up made me laugh WAY too hard, i remember seeing their shade range in sephora and wondering how it was possible for their shades/undertones to be that bad
Nyma is my Boo! I have been following her on IG since 2018 easily! I love her “no makeup” makeup looks. Always looks dewy and glowy! So happy you two collaborated!! Two Queens!
Would love to see a drugstore version. That would be really telling, bc they are bound to be way worse than high end.
You all make a great point in making a distinction between the deepest shade in the line vs. the deepest shade in store. People with deep skin shouldn't have to always buy online. They should be able to use testers and get samples too. That's so unfair (pun acknowledged). Who is responsible for that though? Is it the brand or the store because I was under the impression that it is the store managers who placed the orders, or at least that would be the case with drugstores - different locations will carry the same line but have different shades.
Wow these are some amazing colors and I’m glad y’all are able to find what works for your skin.☝🏽
I love Nyma she’s stunning 😍
It’s been a while since I watched a video from an influencer in the beauty community. And I missed this. I missed Jackie tbh. I’ve had some rough days recently so seeing her and Nyma is kinda therapeutic.
Real content is back! Hallelujah!
Lord! We need more videos like this! Y’all our favs.
Omg you two look like such beautiful dolls♥️♥️♥️
Nyma is drop dead gorgeous ❤
omg MY QUEENS ARE BACK AT IT
The dream collab 😍 ✨️ 🙌🏾 💜
Nyma and Jackie! We love to see it, y’all always keep it real ❤ tarte will NEVER receive a penny from me, the worst part is the lack of accountability, who remembers that ‘apology’ where they said they would extend the shade range for ‘summer shades’?! Lol so I’m not black in the winter
Omg omg!! Nyma & Jackie!😭✨🩷💗💕
Nyma is incredibly gorgeous omg
I love Nyma's blush shade on her!
I love these conversation-y type videos.
I wanna see a part 2; this was fabulous
Hey Nyma girl!!! Hey Jackieee!!!!
I absolutely LOVED this video and feel this type of content is needed consistently.
Thanks Ladies for changing the game!!
Girl because of you too face became my favorite foundation, I repurchased it probably like 10 times 🎉
I really appreciate it this video! I love seeing the difference of each one and I'm now would be so much more aware of the range of colors! That was eye opening 😮
Not me seeing myself in a Jackie video!!! I was one of the models in the Haus Labs foundation ad! Loved this video ladies! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Nyma is so beautiful. Both of you. This is too much excellence for one channel.
Yessss JackiexNyma!! This is the collab I've been waiting for! ❤🥲
