This is such an important video for people of all skintones to see. I’m a light neutral skin tone and while I can find my shade in virtually every brand, it’s important to see who’s actually inclusive so we can choose who to support. No matter how viral these brands are, it’s clear that some of the most hyped companies of the moment don’t care about including everyone and that’s not acceptable. I loved This video. It’s such a shame so many brands still just don’t care. I’ve even notice some brands reformulate and get rid of medium dark shades. It’s horrible. You ladies look beautiful and have done some great work

i loved this video sooo much. i'm no make up guru but i love makeup and to have this type of info kinda stepped up my game lol so i thank you i'm not as dark in complexion but i will never buy from a brand that doesn't cater to my darker chocolate sisters that's insulting period. they need to step up their game.

It’s been a while since I watched a video from an influencer in the beauty community. And I missed this. I missed Jackie tbh. I’ve had some rough days recently so seeing her and Nyma is kinda therapeutic.

You guys are awesome! The shades from the brands at the bottom of your and Nyma's rankings are just straight-up offensive. The lack of dark shades in combination with Nyma being taken off PR lists for valid constructive criticism of complexion products is discriminatory and, again, highly offensive. Everyone who wants to wear makeup deserves products to suit their skin.

Obviously I know this would’ve made the video twice as expensive, but I would’ve liked to see you guys compare the two deepest shades. Some brands tack on a single truly deep shade to show they have range, but the next shade up is a massive jump, like the Estēe Lauder Double Wear. They have the range, but not the diversity.

Thanks for bringing this issue to “light”. No pun intended.
As a dark skinned girl I feel like I’ll never find my perfect match for foundation. I can’t get my undertone right. Most brands turn very red or very grey after a few hours. Also, my face doesn’t match my neck, my neck doesn’t match my chest which also doesn’t match my face. Plus the girls at makeup store are not helpful either. I’m sad that in 2023 I’m still struggling with this.

Thank you for the informative video. I don’t buy Tarte or It Cosmetics and any others that don’t invest in a good shade range that I can buy in the store. If they don’t have a wide range of shades I walk by them the way they look over my people. Black people have the widest range of skin tones and some brands think they are being inclusive with far less than shades than that of other ethnic groups. They don’t want our money and we shouldn’t give it to them. I support those who think about and invest in me and my people.

This was a super great informative video, I love the discussion about not all brands carrying every shade in store because its so true. As an ex Ulta employee it made it very frustrating for both me and the customer to find a good shade match. I would remember watching foundation reviews just to see 20 shades missing in front of me. Nyx never carries their darker shades in stores it feels like 🫠

Brands should bring MUAs/creators into the mix when formulating foundation shades. It’s not that hard hard to reach out to one of you (or a multitude of other MUAs/creators) to bring you guys into the fold and ask for YOUR help formulating their range since they can’t/won’t do it correctly themselves.
I mean, honestly, imagine a brand doing a skin series and bringing in say 75-100 different creators with all different skin tones. They say they worry about the cost? Bull. They don’t want to put in the effort even though doing something like that would be ground breaking and bring their brand so much clout and recognition. It would literally pay for itself.
