      tbh i have never used alcohol based markers XD i usually use the aquamarkers to do any type of ‘colouring’. they r pretty good but the tips start to fray which is so annoying! x

    Alcohol markers are made of dye inks not pigments. You will find pigments in watercolours, oils, gouache and acrylic paints, The same for most water based markers, they are also dyes., which is why they fade over time. Depending on the paper, some water based markers will bleed also. If you don’t want the paper to pill when using water based markers, wait for the first layer to dry. The yellowing in some alcohol markers is due to the dyes in some colours. Whew, I hope that helps. Nice informative video. Keep creating 💜💛💙

    Thank you for this! I''m definitely going to get some alcohol based markers! You convinced me. The streaks that come with using my tombows annoys me so much! No matter what it just looks bad to me. I thought id be stuck with those forever haha. Yay can't wait to try alcohol ons!

    Ohuhu is the best budget alcohol marker investment .. of course it's a personal opinion but it is the only brand capable of competing with copic. its been 4 years and ohuhu still surprises me to this day, some of my pens haven't run out still and has pigment

    A blending brush or a light water stroke would blend the water-based colors better, maybe even better than the alcohol ones

      ive tried blending brushes in the past and they are not extremely effective in my experience but if they work for you then great!

    i really want to try alcohol markers, but copics are so expensive!! i’ll def have to look into those other brands, thanks for the recommendation!! also, have you heard of acrylic markers? they have a brush nib and a like regular marker nib. i thought acrylic was paint, but i don’t think these are? idk, i haven’t tried them just yet. i think she got them from amazon…

    • @mingostudio

      the two markers i recommended in the video, ohuhu and sanjoki, are much cheaper! i agree copics are insanely priced haha. also i have tried one acrylic marker (an acrylograph) and it was fineeee but not my fav. i think it is paint..? idk i may be wrong

    • @Lii170
      @Lii170 3 місяці тому +1

      @@mingostudio It is acrylic paint indeed, hence the name. You can't paint the same way as you'd use alcohol or water-based markers unfortunately, it's a different process.

    I love Ohuhu makers, but I’m afraid that if I buy them I won’t use them enough to make it worth the money.

      Yesterday I bring my almost dry markers to life just with technical alcohol, so even you don't use them right now, you may make them juicy and use them later. Some colors became lighter, but if marker just dry, not much used, it wouldn't change the color.
      I hope, it will help and you will happily boost your creativity c:

    I'm getting more into paint because of some of the issues with water based markers (although most common paints are also water based). Alcohol markers are too much of an investment when I'm not very good at art
