Thank you for speeding up the whole 2002 Championship season Mr Steelbuck! The Greatest thing about College Football is that someone like me can be a fan for only 5 years yet become historically educated through UA-cam Uploads of actual games. With NFL; there's NFL Films and that's it; and the historic games are hard to come by; their lawyers are always busy taking games down.
You can now no huddle NFL, Anything 2016 or older is fair game, if its regular season. They blocked some playoff games, like 2014 Cowboys Packers. I put 110 games up. I didn't condense them, I compiled them via torrents when the seasons were in progress and they were being shared on sites. I have savefromnet app to download from this russian streamer ok.ru/profile/592397827611/video/
Great footage. Not only of the championship Buckeyes but of the artificial Astro turf. It’s still hard for me to believe that was ever an acceptable playing surface. Can you imagine the beating the Badgers took on that field on an annual basis. Cold and hard...sheesh. 💪🏻
This is the most underrated game of this incredible season, due to it happening early in the year before the Buckeyes were getting national title buzz. Just Tresselball 4th quarter at its best, right down to the 74 (net 54) punt by Groom. Then the textbook 4 minute offense to run out the clock with 2 first downs. Every yard gained was a tough yard, and every yard allowed was tough. Just a great, classic, old school Big Ten game that we rarely get to see anymore, due to how much the B1G West has been lagging (this comment written in late January 2024). Back then Wisconsin was a very tough game. We would lose to them the following 2 years after this.
Crazy how the game has changed since then. You rarely see gang tackles anymore just due to offenses spreading the field. OSU's secondary in the Tressel years is very underappreciated.
Looking back, its silly they didn't spread to run sooner. Stacking 6 on the Line of scrimmage, plus a FB, plus a RB, gangtackles were common because 7 Defenders are within 5 yards of the play! all it took was a defender to refuse to be moved, make a RB hesitate, and the cavalry arrives in the form of 2 safeties, now 3 more guys got off their blocks, and if the RB didn't fall from the first attempt, 6 guys are piling on. Urban Meyer Smashmouth spread, option off one defender he's out of the play. 6 man box is down to 5.
Urban Meyer Smashmouth spread, option off one defender he's out of the play. 6 man box is down to 5. Gang tackles are only the result of an idiot back trying to go backwards and against the grain to outrun a badly blocked defender. Which still happens, even in the pros, although its usually rookie RBs about to ride the bench.
Jeez, I know how this ends but I was sweating the whole time. Man they made it look hard sometimes. ;) But putting Gamble in on defense was genius. 28:45
Exciting Maurice Claret games are hard to come by; but 1 back getting 30 carries for 133 in a game decided by 1 score is exactly what Im looking for. Downloading 16 year old NCAA UA-cam videos is for. Im only 6 years of following NCAA after 25 years of NFL only; Claret's story I only learned on Youngstown Boys.
Clarett stealing back the ball after a turnover in the Championship is something I'll never forget . Kinda says it all about his desire to win . He just didn't have the patience . His bud Lebron got paid straight outta h.s. .
God, Chris Gamble was great. He got zero Heisman trophy love this season Gamble was a difference maker. The Buckeyes don't go 14 and 0 if Chris Gamble wasn't great.

Oh i'd love to do 'no huddle' versions of classic NFL games, but yeah I know they'd come down as quick as the channel

Yes! And this was the last year that camp randal had Astro turf.

Thing about Tress - he never beat himself.
No he sure didn’t

Anthony Davis was a really good RB.
Love watching that D play, Doss flying around, etc. They were tough as nails, a team of destiny.

This didn't go as well the next season. Playing Wisconsin was often a headache in the 80s.

Ohio State would have to go to Camp Randall again the following season.
They would see their 19-game win streak snapped.
28:48 Spectacular interception. Had his back to the QB.
Wisconsin offensive line crazy that a 7th round pick ran back to back 1500 yard seasons
@18:37 If you want to see AJ Hawk (#47) be an absolute animal on the pass rush
God, Chris Gamble was great.
