7:36. A solo Hazlewood shout out. Nice! I haven't seen any of his solo albums in years. Stupidly expensive and in dire need of reissues. Thanks for showing.
I believe many of his were reissued by Light in the Attic, including this one Requiem For An Almost Lady
Hi Dom! Maybe that's telling something but I just love EVERY one of the albums you showed here. I saw Morphine back in 1995 in my hometown of Toulouse - what a unique sounding band. Unforgettable.
Haha, nice Cedric! I neglected to see Morphine back when. I got more into them after Sandman died. Hasn't been anyone quite like them
Great picks Dom! So much great music. Nice to see the Lee Hazlewood LP on the Swedish press, the Viking label is very cool. I quite recently bought a pretty rare Lee H single on that label, "Let's Take a Walk Down Vallhallavägen" (a street in Stockholm). With a children's choir... haha, but it works, super cool song. Great entry to this vinyl tag. Cheers!
Hey Jonas. Yes very interesting Lee's time in Sweden post 60s. A lot of those records from that era are Swedish only, save the reissues. A few I still need. I don't know if I know that 45. Big fan of Hazlewood though, pretty much everything. What a weirdo.
Great stuff Dom! Good to see ya my friend You look like you’re doing well! Great choices for the Sad Bastard Tag! Peace ✌️👽
Hey Brian! good to hear from you and thanks for checking in, Excited to see that top 20 uk psych
Great list Dom, Im dropping by for a 2nd time to watch this. You forgot Tom Waits on your list. I forgot Elliot Smith on my list! We both had The Who on list - by the way - you sang that little riff beautifully in key! Willy Nelson got mentioned in both our lists too! MartyInOregon mentioned that Willie record on his Japan Tag, and I've been meaning to listen to it. I'm gonna get to it, and to your Japan list. I think your after two others. I'm really looking forward to listening to all those records. Don't have that Link Wray record but would love it get it! TAMBORINE MAN! WHOA!
Man, everyone showed Willie! There are so many sad country songs and artists who would qualify, funny how everyone went to Willie. He is that great though. Check out that Link Wray, the whole lp is simply fantastic. No let down songs at all. i hope you find more records that inspire!
Dom, all prompts are subject to interpretation, and you did a good job. Thanks, Chris
Really nice, thank you :)
Hey Dom, great addition to the series. I think Phases and Stages wins the prize for most appearances in the tag, at least 3 times so far and maybe more to come! I also always appreciate hearing mention of my fellow Harnett Countian Link Wray! He and the playwright Paul Greene are our only claims to artistic fame. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving, take care - Elliott
Link Wray is a great one to have from your town. What an honor. Yeah I saw Willie turn up in some tags, after I recorded mine but before posting. Went ahead with it anyway. I see that you have done one yourself, will check it out.
The Smiths Peel sessions are where it’s at. I could live without the rest. Behind Blue Eyes is a solid selection.
Those are quite excellent my friend, certainly nothing wrong with the Smiths.
Good stuff as always Dom. Glad or Sad to see Palace Songs/Palace Bros as well as Jason Molina/Songs: Ohia made the list. Definitely sad but great music. Especially Molina. His music is somber yet powerful.
This was the best Sad Bastard Vinyl Tag yet!
I always wondered why that Langhorne soundtrack was never pressed to vinyl when the film was released. Beautiful record. Give a listen to Townes van Zandt's "Marie" for sad country song. It will ruin your day.
Ooof yes that is a heartbreaker, as is just about all of TVZ's songs. I just love a day-ruiner.
Well done, Dom. Captured the spirit perfectly. And I got you to say a popular classic rock record. Hoping someone might try and pull Alan out of retirement with this one. Cheers ✌🏻
Ah, would've recommended Alan as my shoutout. I'll have to find more tags to show all this classic rock. I actually have tons
well done, i remember i was intrigued by that soundtrack when you showed before, need to check it out. lets see if JMR takes the bait.
Has he ever even done a proper video??
Enjoyed the thread!!
Nico, anything. Ever heard Peter Hammills Over, a break up album of epic proportions.
Sandman did write really great ballads(among other things).
Nice…but, I’m not sure you’re eligible for the “old sad bastard” category, Dom. Not without, at least, one Smith’s album in your collection 🤨. Not even a Best of CD? Listen, I haven’t pulled their albums out in years (and I probably won’t ever again). But we all have certain…obligations! 😂 Some really good and interesting selections and you got me thinking about these questions myself. Peace.
I probably should have something, perhaps if I find em cheap. I had like 4 albums, all reissue, which I was happy to move along a bunch of years ago. I do like them!
@ Lol. To be honest, I think it’s healthy to leave some of those “must-own” albums behind. Sometimes you just don’t need to hear this stuff again! I’ve struggled for years trying to unload my (neglected) Kiss albums. Like many Gen Xers, Kiss was my first obsession with music; leading me toward the NY Dolls…NY punk…post-punk….so it goes. But I just can’t let go of those Kiss records. Instantly, I’m 10 years again - buying Kiss Live II with the money my mom gave me. Lol. Cheers!
I will not participate in such shenanigans lol lol
Jon needs you, your country needs you

Great ending…
you look like a Jimmer Fredette fan. guy couldn't even medal in Paris.
If I followed the Olympics, that might make sense. But I'll take your word for it
