I'm 74 years old and was around when Bruce died - I was 23. So for a few years I was able to observe and see his movies when they came out. -- Anyway - his 'speed' was unlike anything that anyone else could come close to matching - in my opinion. And the power he generated was incredible for his size of a person ! --- I very seriously doubt we ever see another person with his skill level !!!

@@rocketman767Spot on. Master Lees skill set can not be denied. He was one of the very best self defense fighter ever. A great teacher and genius at bringing real martial arts to the screen. If haters can't see this with the available information, they are blind, stupid or both. The one all out no holds barred fight with Grandmaster of Tayiquan Xingyiquan and Northern Shaolin Wong Jack Man a man with way more experience then Master Bruce Lee and beat him to submission proves he was more then the real deal. One of the very best. RIP Master Bruce Lee.
I met Joe Lewis in the late 70s and he was always a respectful martial artist but he also had a temper. He never really fought Lee. Just demos in tournaments were performed.
Most people who talk up Bruce are really trying to generate interest in themselves. On the other hand there are those who know that if they portray Bruce as human they will be shunned and called a liar.
"he has never said a negative word about Bruce Lee." To his fans, however, portraying Bruce as a mere human with flaws is very much saying something negative about him. If you don't fall over yourself praising Bruce as superhuman they go nuts.
"THE LATE GREAT NUBIAN WARRIOR", AND SENSEI " Brother" James Milton Kelly would`ve not made a comment like that as he`s an accomplished, and consummate martial artist in his own right. Not to mention he chose not to mention all The MA`s Bruce Lee has beatened, and humbled.
Awesome Video! I did my research and you are correct about this. I do want to add that John Little mention that Bob Wall said that after Joe Lewis accused Bruce Lee about his wife, Bruce Lee came out of his house and told Joe Lewis let's go MF. Joe Lewis had a chance to fight him but he didn't. Louie Delgado sparred with Bruce Lee and he said he could not do anything with him he was baffled. It amazes me that people think Bruce Lee couldn't fight. It is Ridiculous, he was way ahead of his time. Thanks for posting this and thanks for telling facts and not fiction like Beerdy does.
@@KenB-n9m well a friend of mine spoke to Joe Lewis and he told him that Bruce Lee called him a Punk. Bruce Lee had a quick temper and was not afraid of nobody. But it was Joe Lewis that accused him of getting fresh with his wife. He realized that he was wrong and that was the end of their relationship.
@@KenB-n9m Bob Wall said that, However my friend who is a Sifu in Wing Chun met Joe Lewis in a convention and he said he asked Joe Lewis about it and he told him the last time he saw Bruce Lee, Bruce called him a Punk.
I read they had this conversion on a phone call, Bob Wall wasn't there, so he wouldn't know what happened between Joe and Bruce, so whatever truly happened is only known to Joe and Bruce and Joe's wife cause she was apparently listening to the conversation
I'm sure Joe Lewis sparred with Bruce before training with him, because as you said, Joe knew he was good and was already a tournament champion. He was not going to train with someone who had not proven himself to Joe. My first Kenpo teacher played with Lewis in the tournament days and got cracked ribs. He said Lewis only had one speed, full. His top black belt later (1990's) had Lewis in for seminars a few times. When they played he said Lewis was using some kind of rhythm that was hard to deal with, and he thinks he learned it from Bruce. He said his way of sparring was completely different from the early tournament days (backfist, side kick). Lewis, Norris, Bob Wall, all these guys were black belts with egos; it is natural they would not like admitting Bruce beat them in sparring, but why else would they have trained with him.
That's not the reason at all. A small fighter that you'll easily beat can still be more technical than you. Lots of people who beat their masters still took lessons from them. Speed is not the only thing that matters.
@@endwigast5212 No, he doesn't, not even close:) Do you fanboys even think before writing? You really think Bruce Lee hits as hard as Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazer and George Foreman?

@@waynecolburn8849 Joe Lewis didn’t start kick boxing until 1974. Get your facts straight, he became as good as he did because of Bruce which he himself has said on video.
If you look at the name on the back of Joe's gi, it clearly says "Tracy's". I was an instructor with Tracy's Karate during that period when Joe worked for them and represented them in tournaments. He also gave seminars for instructors. In those he taught techniques that he learned from Lee. That's the truth.
Bruce was just so so fast. Also he was the pioneer of mixed martial arts / UFC. Constantly searching for what worked and what didn’t and incorporating the former & throwing out the later. He wasn’t wedded to one tradition of style. Amazing original thinker about fighting. Speed & timing is power.
@@cuzz63 Joe Lewis regarded Bruce Lee as the greatest martial artist that ever lived & was the fastest man to have stood in front of him, he described Lee as incredibly powerful, hitting as hard as a heavyweight & had an inner conviction. Also Joe's own words, "Bruce was not a fighter, he was a teacher". also Joe, " We were not sparring as I never sparred with Bruce, nor did I see him spar". Joe did, however, do pre arranged drills with Bruce, that's how he would know about Bruce's power.

Chuck was simply a dudd. A guy headed for the TV screen like Bruce only the world was scared to death of Bruce not Chuck or Don or any of the rest of these clowns
Is that true that Chuck talked down about Bruce’s skills? The things I have heard him say were very positive about Bruce. Gave him allot of credit for starting his film career.
I called out Beerdy on that one inch punch demonstration. I told him that was not Joe Lewis, he is 6feet tall that guy looked the same size as Bruce Lee
I saw a video with Wally Jay a long time ago where he was talking about Bruce Lee having beaten everyone in Wally's Dojo . This was Wally Jay talking Master of Small Circle theory of Jiu Jitzu. He also said Bruce Lee was too fast for everybody in his Studio . Seems to be a recurring theme. Maybe one of these days people will realize he was as great as they say.
That's Jiu-jitsu 😂 He went to a Uechi-Ryu karate dojo too, and they swept him off his feet and threw him around 3 or 4 times. The students witnessed the encounter and also wrote their own accounts, everything was collaborated and it suggested that he wasn't super-human, he wasn't even highly experienced.
I wholeheartedly believe Jim Kelly when he said he knew the karatekas Bruce fought and Jim had the integrity of a real master and refused to mention any names, even though he was possibly already sick at the time and knowing he would probably die he still refused to mention names lest these famous karatekas felt ashamed or inconvenienced. Now that is integrity.
@shel0016 Please. There were numerous Japanese and Chinese teams that went to Thailand in the 60s and early 70s to compete against Muay Thai. Muay Thai is a brutal sport and the training equally brutal. Please advise when Lee ever encountered the kind of contact and ferocity demonstrated in any of main Bangkok stadiums. I respect and acknowledge Bruce Lee but 1960s sport karate fighters are not the same as professional Muay Thai fighters.
@@elindioedwards7041 agreed, no, Thai fighter would be afraid of Bruce, iv seen video old and new, and they're not afraid to fight anyone, let alone Bruce, no offense to him
@guts7958 I'm amazed that anyone living today is not aware of Muay Thai and the difference between it and 1960s sport karate. They are simply different animals. IMO, the martial artist that people should be looking at from the 60s and 70s is Benny Urquidez. Urquidez certainly could have and did fight stadium caliber fighters. In addition, I think he could have probably transitioned over to MMA if he had been 10 years younger.
Jim Kelly spoke about how Bruce would whup hell out of the top Karate men at the time but said he wouldn't say their names, but everyone would recognize their names if he said them. Bruce was to martial arts what John Coltrane was to jazz.
How would Kelly know that. The only recognisable karate man that Kelly would have seen even talking to Bruce was Bob Wall. Kelly knew Bruce a short time while they filmed Enter the dragon in Hong Kong for the vast majority of the time. The other guys, Norris and Lewis etc., were not even on the same continent.

In the 60’s I used to hear Joe Lewis talk about Bruce Lee, talking about pound for pound. Well what else could he say? I believe what you had to say in this video, it matches what I heard 🤙🏽 Bruce was way beyond his time!
I notice it is hardly ever mentioned that Gene LeBell taught Bruce a lesson about being too rough on his stuntmen in his movie ...Gene headlocked Bruce and carried him around the set while Bruce screamed for Gene to put him down.... the same Gene that choked out Steven Seagal.
Any verification for this I find it hard to believe. One that gene could do to him and two that bruce would hurt stuntmen. Thats what segul did because steven seagul is an absolute monster
The 1 inch punch is just plain body mechanics. Of course, if you have one man that is standing straight as an arrow, which is not a defensive stance, will have no problem shoving an opponent back. That technique doesn't work if an opponent takes a defensive stance or posture.
It's easier for Joe to say he never sparred with bruce, so that he don't need to admit what happened during the spars. Joe lewis don't like admitting he was no match for bruce, but he sometimes gives game away. It's funny how you have Fei Long (Bruce Lee) and Joe Lewis (Ken) RIP to the both of them from the Street Fighter video game as a reference to bring the point across. LOL 😂😂🤣🤣
i was but a wee lad in the days of Bruce, couldn't get enough of watching his movies, i found them funny more than anything, due to the broken English subtitles, truly a great fighter and technician, never knew him personally, but many talk well of him
I was living in Los Angeles and studying Go Soko Ryu under Shihan (now Soke) Takayuki Kubota during the Bruce Lee days. I casually asked one of my Japanese instructors what he thought about Mr. Lee. His response was exceptionally caustic. I was at that point in my life unaware of the hostility between Japan and China during WW II. He basically told me to go study with Bruce if that was my goal. (I didn't, and never brought up the subject again.). I eventually mastered Bruce Lee's 3 inch punch (the one inch punch was beyond my capabilities, even after nearly 30 years of training). I demonstrated the technique to a class of mine, and knocked down 5 young men with one punch. I had the lead man cover his stomach with a phone directory as protection. Even I was impressed, even though it was the only technique of his that I was good at. I really miss those days.
@@TheAGNOSTIC_who_YT_CENSORS He said "a fighter in any way", he didn't specify professional. It's likely he had fights, but we don't know for sure if he fought anyone of note.

And it's a particularly good question because this guy is going around to different threads as well as here claiming that Bruce Lee has NEVER gotten into a single fight with ANYONE EVER which apparently we both agree is a ridiculous claim so you really should be questioning him instead of replying to me.
The thing about Bruce is that he was that good but it's unbelievable to people because they can't accept he was really that good. But all you have to do is look at his movies. The camera can't even keep with his punches and kicks in the frame. That alone is proof.
@@HardHardMaster The definition of the word 'best' doesn't explicitly imply 'fighting' and can be used to refer to anything. For example, it could be used to refer to being a representative. With your dedication to finding the truth through research, your videos remind me of a quote from Augustine, “The truth is like a lion; you don’t have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself.”
People often overlook the distinction between being a Martial Artist and a fighter. I know many exceptional Martial Artists who are incredibly fast and hit hard. Their form and technique are impeccable, and their performances can be mesmerizing. They excel in light sparring, appearing almost unreal. However, I've also witnessed these same Martial Artists struggle when the intensity of sparring increases, such as pressure testing in MMA or Boxing. Yet, these Martial Artists play a crucial role in training and mentoring fighters. This dynamic might seem paradoxical to those outside the world of combat sports and diverse combat gym environments. Many fighters I know can surpass their coaches or teachers, even if they were to face them at their peak. In MMA, boxing, or full-contact combat sports some of the best coaches have never fought professionally or had mediocre careers. Nonetheless, their strategic understanding and teaching ability are unparalleled. This complex relationship highlights the importance of recognizing and valuing the different skills and roles within combat sports.
going by the footage in the video Joe Lewis contradicted himself. First he said he didnt spar with Bruce Lee then he said he did when he mentioned Bruce hitting him. The interviews others have given about Bruce not being a real fighter make no sense either
Lewis openly referred to Bruce Lee as the greatest, describing him as the fastest man to have stood in front of him, saying he was a very powerful & gifted martial artist.
You realize that Bruce died prematurely and generated such interest that those who knew him became instantly popular. That's the reason so many of them hype up Bruce Lee. It's because they sell themselves in the process. I'm sure Bruce was great in many ways and very skilled. But he wouldn't last 30 seconds with Joe Lewis or Chuck Norris. Bruce wasn't a fighter and didn't want to be. He wanted to be a Hollywood actor.
I met Joe Lewis at a Tracy's Karate sparring instruction class in the mid-1980's. My instructor got his black belt from Joe Lewis. The first time I saw Joe Lewis was when he became the world heavy weigh kickboxing champion around 1972. Joe was incredible but after the class, of course we wanted to know about his relationship with Bruce Lee. He had nothing but great things to say about Bruce. He said he was the fastest fighter he ever trained with and that even though he was small, he hit like a heavyweight. Joe had the utmost respect for Bruce and he learned a lot from him. One thing he taught that was passed down to the Tracy's fighters was something called "independent motion", which I used to great success as a point tournament fighter. One last thing, even though Joe was a point karate champion, he got away from it because he didn't feel like it was truly fighting. That's why he went into full contact fighting and he elevated the sport as the first real star of kickboxing. He was followed by others such as Bill "Superfoot" Wallace and others, but Joe was the guy who put professional kickboxing on the map when he won the world heavyweight championship. Joe could hit so hard, he was intimidating, but a nice guy when talking to him.
Joe was a USA heavyweight champion kickboxer but he was a karate world champion and he never said Bruce was a fighter, he said he was a great martial artist and teacher
Ring fighting of any kind is not truly fighting. There are plenty of real soldiers who have seen real battle that couldn't last in a ring. In the street there's no weight division, there's no fairness, nor rules. Sport is not real at all. Don't care if it's MMA.

Man, I'm glad I found your channel. Your videos are AWESOME! There are so many Bruce Lee haters that are clueless about Bruce Lee. How many times have you heard Bruce was just an actor, or what tournaments has he won, or what videos proof is out there? This video sets the record straight when all the Top karate masters trained under Bruce Lee. Like you said on the video, BL was beyond tournaments. Would you enter tournaments to win the plastic trophy, or would you make movies for million dollars? Even though Beery channel might not be always 100% factual, I do watch his channel. He sent a written letter thanking him for training him and also apologized to Bruce about keeping something a secret to save Chuck's reputation. Just subscribed to your channel. Bruce solicited top fighters to train under him because Bruce needed legitimacy as a teacher. He sponged off of them, just as they tried to use him later to get into films. Remember, Bruce had no marketing ability as he was an unknown in the US. By the way, Chuck never denied training with Bruce. BUT Chuck also was an accomplished school owner, and competitor BEFORE he ever met Bruce. And yes, Bruce wanted to be a film star, and he used martial arts for that purpose, not to be a fighter. Bruce was a lifelong actor, from the age of three months.
The best is back in his space. a man that I respect because he does the research and thoroughly. Proof? I'm a fan of Street Fighter and even I didn't know Joe Lewis was the inspiration for Ken Masters. That's impressive. I know of Joe Lewis because of my late big brother. He talked about him and said he was really damn good
Cool to read someone mentioned the Street Fighter franchise. I am a huge fan of it since 1992, playing SF 2 on Amiga 500 was so funny :). I found out this Lewis-Masters thing on Ken's wiki page 2-3 years ago, never knew it before. But of course wiki wasnt around in the 90s, no smartphones, no internet, nothing. But there is something about Ken which was also new to me and not many people know it. Yes Lewis was the inspiration for him, but still Ken is only 1/4 american, he is 3/4 japanese. And he isnt a caucasian/white guy like Lewis, he looks more asian. He only dyed his hair blond since his youth as his parents wanted to divorce, he wanted them to stay together and became a rebel, dying the black hair blond was a way. And Ryu is based on Masutasu "Mas" Oyama. But yeah, Street Fighter is one of the best franchises ever. This game was the real start for 1-1 duel fighting games.
@@chrisbach1533 interesting. I knew Ryu was based on Oyama. Yeah, that mention of Ken was left field but great info. I look at the character completely different. And it does make sense what you said about Ken because when you look at him, he always has black eyebrows. For someone that is a blonde, you aren't going to have anything outside of that color and the brows always match the hair color. Makes me want to go play some Street Fighter 6 later 😂
@@TheDumontShow Sure :). I didnt know most of this too. In the 2000s and 2010s I wasnt so interested in the franchise anymore, but for some reasons's I found the interest back about 1-2 years ago. And there were indeed many things I didnt know. What I also didnt know is that Guile's wife Julia and Ken's wife Eliza are sisters, so you can basically say Guile and Ken are like family now, since their wifes are sisters. And you are right about the eyebrows. Funny is in the first SF game from 1987, Ken had black eyebrows and brown eyes. In SF2 too. But in the 1994 movie starring Van Damme as Guile, the actor who potrayed Ken, Damian Chappa, is caucasian with blond hairs and blue eyes. And after the movie came out, the Americans did a cartoon about the franchise, and there Ken suddenly was caucasian with blue eyes. Since then, some times he has blue and sometimes brown eyes.
Great video! Exactly what I've been commenting all the time! "You only have to read the book Wrath of the Dragon!" by John Little to understand Bruce's abilities.
I want to say thank you because Bruce Lee was famous to us brothers in my small town. Our problem was we were so poor we couldn’t afford to go and see him or afford a training session. But we could dream.
One thing about Bruce that people don't seem to take into consideration is the time in his life he would have had to spend to become a good fighter. He came to the US and spend approximately 10 years of his life on a studio lot as an actor trying to break into Hollywood. Prior to that, in China, he only had training in Tai Chi and Wing Chun (not known for producing fighters). Without regular sparring and competing there's simply no way he would have stood a chance with Chuck Norris or Joe Lewis. Bruce wanted to be famous and create a brand. He leveraged and used martial arts for THAT purpose. Not to become a fighter.
Early on I read Bruce Lee incorporated 'Fencing' and the 'Strong Side' forward approach into his JKD.What never crossed my mind was him literally 'Fencing' against his Martial Arts opponents. The Footage from the LB Internationals displays this to be factual beyond the Power of Refutation.Huge 'closing the gap' advantages with this approach but probably some disadvantages too...any thoughts ?
As usual Prince, you bring the truth and they can't handle it just like Chuck Norris and the late Joe Lewis. Bruce was a little Chinese guy who couldn't get movie and TV roles because of discrimination. Kareem said he and Bruce talked about the racism they faced. Even after all these years, Chuck can't tell the truth about Bruce Lee. How he boasted about being a champion and Bruce was an actor. If Bruce was alive he would not have stuck his chest out as he did. According to Cheung the Wing Chung master Bruce did send him a letter stating that he sparred with and beat Chuck. These guys couldn't take the facts. Now Michael Jai White, don't get me started on how he says because of size he would kill Bruce. You're supposed to be a martial artist man, size doesn't matter. That's the reason Bruce had students of all sizes because that's real. I trained with Larry Hartsell who told me great things about Bruce including the chopstick and rice thing. Keep it up, Prince!
"Bruce was a little Chinese guy who couldn't get movie and TV roles because of discrimination." Even Bruce had the insight to know that wasn't true. Bruce wasn't proven as a money maker at that point. Are you going to invest YOUR millions in something that might lose money? No. Even for Enter The Dragon, he had two co-stars because producers wanted to play it safe.

I'd found with American tourists, back in the '80s, that whenever I talked to them (I was a barman in the family pub), and I talked to everyone when I could, the first thing that Americans would start with 'I', as in 'I did this' and it often continued that way... painfully. I imagine those that spoke against Bruce were doing that same thing; how great they were themselves, especially if they didn't think there was anyone that could refute their stories after Bruce was gone. But... I wasn't there, so maybe I'm wrong. Good video. It rings true in my ears.
Stone and Lewis could’ve been in Norris’ shoes if they weren’t so cocky. Norris was a much nicer person and got along well with Bruce. Stone was a brawler who fought in touch point karate tournaments, but intentionally hurt opponents by punching them as hard as he could. He was the one who stole Elvis’ wife Priscilla.
Mike Stone doesn't seem to be as popular as Chuck Norris and Joe Lewis, even though he's still living AND has a UA-cam channel. My channel has taken a hit since my daughter started walking - I'm always chasing after her instead of reading/writing/filming/editing. When I get back to where every other video gets 500k+ views, I'll look at a Mike Stone video, but there's not as much controversy around Mike Stone. If anything, people might be surprised that, despite what Joe says, I think Bruce viewed Mike Stone as the best of those 3 guys. I DO have an upcoming video about why Bruce shouldn't be compared to the Karate champs of his era - I might be able to work in something about Mike Stone in that video.
@@GoldenbellTraining I have seen it thnx. Strange thing is that there is no old action tournament footage available of Stone, like there is of Norris and Lewis. So I haven’t seen Stone fighting. His image only is formed by anecdotes other fighters told about him.
Mike Stone is now an author focusing on philosophy and spirituality. I think he is writing on one about him and his relationship with Priscilla Presley. And hopefully he includes how Elvis allegedly tried ro put a hit on him I hope he writes one on his relationship with Bruce This is all based on his Facebook postings.
@@rollopolloboymarch1074 the assassination plan was foolish, but real. Some fans tend to think in that direction too, that’s why Stone lives in the Philippines now. There are some interviews with him on UA-cam, but fight footage is absent.
What about the incident that John Little mentioned where Joe Lewis had a confrontation with Bruce and afterwards he wouldn't talk about it but he said Bruce called him a punk? Kareem Abdul Jabbar in an interview said Bruce gave him pointers on sparring with Joe Lewis and Joe couldn't touch him the entire time.
The Fei Loong vs Ken is brilliantly used lol. I'm sure you've read Wrath of the Dragon, Lee faced him down and Joe knew he'd get destroyed and chickened out.
Folks believe Hollywood and movies too much.bruce was good but not as the movies made him to be. There was no Internet back then for him to be exposed and meet his match.... I love Bruce movies but I don't mix TV with reality.....
I named my second born son Bruce-Leon. Bruce Lee respect Ali and the respect was mutual. When it comes to Bruce and Joe the truth is true warriors never have to fight but at times spar inorder to share and learn from each other. Each one teach one then we pass it on
Whatever stopped Bruce Lee from plopping down a few bucks and entering a tournament? It would have been an astonishingly easy accomplishent it seems. But he didnt. It makes no sense that Lee trained competitors ( after ambushing them in hotel lobbies and parking lots to teach them) , gave out trophies, signed autographs and competed in them in the movies but supposedly didnt believe in them in real life. It seems he was simply afraid to lose in public.
@@axelstone3131 Tell us about a fight win against a known fighter in a non restricted rule set then, like I keep asking you, and you keep failing to answer.
How many fighters have said nobody could touch Bruce, seems like I've seen a few who said size and style didn't matter, Bruce would win. Jim Kelly, James Demile I think his name is and pretty sure there were a couple more. Didn't he go into a Ed parker dojo I think, but he made a couple students feel dumb, and showed them why they were learning something that didn't work, can't remember who that was, but they started training with Bruce.
Joe Lewis deliberately injured an older man in front of Lee. This angered Lee , and a boxing match ensued. Lee wiped the floor with Lewis. When Bruce Lee died,, nobody admitted knowing him. I always knew there had to be a reason for this.
Thats one thing with Bruce.....he's just too fast. That why I laugh when MJW says he would beat Bruce. Bruce has been handing guys their @$$es who were bigger then him. I'm not saying Bruce is going to walk right through MJW but I think he would come out on top. People were lucky that Bruce didn't use his finger gabs or hits to the throat. Bruce being a good guy about getting into fights kept them hidden so his opponents wouldn't get a bad rep. Also you didn't include when Bruce got in Joe Lewis's face and told him...."Lets go then Mother F*****"
I'm telling you straight up. Michael Jai White isn't near as good as Bruce. I saw MJW demonstrate his skill. Nowhere as good as Bruce. MJW is an excellent martial artist. That's fact. But Bruce was just different. My late brother was better than MJW. Hands down. I wish he had lived. He would have been one of the greatest martial artists. He just had a great aptitude for martial arts. God rest his soul
@@HardHardMaster excuse me. What? First of, my late brother was a martial artist. I grew up taking karate as a kid. My brother had won tournaments so I know martial arts skills when I see it. It was in front of me when he was getting heavy into it. I know martial artists. I have two great friends that dabble in martial arts.

Why would he? Bruce taught Joe a a lot. Joe is a class act. I wouldn't expect anything less.

To his fans, however, portraying Bruce as a mere human with flaws is very much saying something negative about him. If you don't fall over yourself praising Bruce as superhuman they go nuts.

@@Guile1117 bob Wall said Joe Lewis told him what happened. They were business partners.
And why would wealthy people in Hollywood pay Bruce for lessons?
That's not the reason at all.
A small fighter that you'll easily beat can still be more technical than you.
Lots of people who beat their masters still took lessons from them.

IMO, the martial artist that people should be looking at from the 60s and 70s is Benny Urquidez. Urquidez certainly could have and did fight stadium caliber fighters. In addition, I think he could have probably transitioned over to MMA if he had been 10 years younger.
Jim Kelly spoke about how Bruce would whup hell out of the top Karate men at the time but said he wouldn't say their names, but everyone would recognize
their names if he said them. Bruce was to martial arts what John Coltrane was to jazz.

Kelly knew Bruce a short time while they filmed Enter the dragon in Hong Kong for the vast majority of the time. The other guys, Norris and Lewis etc., were not even on the same continent.

i was but a wee lad in the days of Bruce, couldn't get enough of watching his movies, i found them funny more than anything, due to the broken English subtitles, truly a great fighter and technician, never knew him personally, but many talk well of him
I was living in Los Angeles and studying Go Soko Ryu under Shihan (now Soke) Takayuki Kubota during the Bruce Lee days.
@@HardHardMaster When did the OP mention fighting?
@@HardHardMaster The definition of the word 'best' doesn't explicitly imply 'fighting' and can be used to refer to anything. For example, it could be used to refer to being a representative. Can you provide a timestamp in the video where it's stated that Bruce Lee is the greatest fighter of all time?
@tonyslicer7399 Well it's all opinions in the end so the OP can't really be wrong.

He talks about doing drills with Bruce and that's when he got hit. Drills are not the same as sparring.
Don't care if it's MMA.
thanks for the amazing video brother

Great video!!
There is one video I like from Beerdy. There was proof Chuck Norris trained under Bruce. He sent a written letter thanking him for training him and also apologized to Bruce about keeping something a secret to save Chuck's reputation. Just subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
One of the best content about Bruce Lee…love your videos!
Wonder what MJW thinks about this 🤔 Bruce was the real deal
Bruce was a real actor, martial artist, and teacher....not a fighter. And, Bruce never wanted to be a fighter.
@@junodonatus4906 Linda said thats how he presented himself
Love your work outstanding
Awesome video about Bruce Lee and he was a teacher of Martial Arts too. I like Bruce Lee's Martial Arts past history.
Good stuff. Also, Jim Kelly spoke of how Bruce Lee was next level.
Jim was trying to sell his book. He basically had nothing else to make himself interesting other than hyping up Bruce.
"Bruce was a little Chinese guy who couldn't get movie and TV roles because of discrimination."
Even Bruce had the insight to know that wasn't true. Bruce wasn't proven as a money maker at that point. Are you going to invest YOUR millions in something that might lose money? No. Even for Enter The Dragon, he had two co-stars because producers wanted to play it safe.
I have just finnishd "Wrath of the dragon" its a great book and has certainly answered a lot of questions regarding Lee's real fighting skills he was the real deal
Bob Wall Chuck Norris and Joe Lewis was Bruce Lees students and that's a fact
@@HardHardMaster No, you are wrong, Mike Stone, Chuck Norris & Joe Lewis were all students of Bruce Lee, in fact Joe Lewis was very open about being his student.
Those guys were already established world champions when they began training with Bruce Lee, do you think they would have wasted their time with Lee had he been a mere finger painter & spouting philosophy? Think about it....
@@HardHardMasterHe taught all of them, obviously
@@HardHardMaster If you see Lee's diaries you will see multiple entries and their names and times with things they are going to work on. At this time Lee was a teacher. Why would he have given so many free lessons? Why would these big time champions visit this little Chinese guys house over long periods of time if there was nothing to learn?
sorry but you're wrong

In a sanctioned tournament, Lewis would stand a much better chance, but in an actual fight on the street, Lee was unstoppable with that quickness.
On the streets are you dreaming.
What a ridiculous comment. How could you possibly know what Joe Lewis or Bruce would be like on the streets. Joe learned in the military when it was for life and death. Bruce was a lifelong actor and spoiled rich kid.
I suggest you research comments made by Joe Lewis in describing Lee's speed and power, giving the impression of how difficult or formidable he was. And yes I am quite familiar with Lewis training in Okinawa while stationed in Japan. Don't bother to reply, your comment speaks volumes. @@junodonatus4906

That birdie was still making so many videos telling all these fake stories for the last several weeks. He kept uploading like 2 or 3 videos a day.
Back in the very early 1970s I had a School Teacher , that competed in some of those Karate tournaments I Think back, in the late 1960s to early 1970s , he was a Black Belt in a Karate Style I don't hear much about these days , I don't even know if it still exist ? I really Love seeing a Channel that tells the facts , and I believe that your channel does .

“How you like that drill cuz?” 😉
😂
@@GoldenbellTraining You mentioned Cuzz there. David Hughes also says Joe and Bruce only did pre arranged drills. Both trained seperately with Joe Lewis. They are both credible martial artists that say the same thing, even though they have never met !
Good video and thanks for not speaking a mile-a-minute.
"Did you hear Bruce Lee fought Joe?"
"Joe who?"
Your best video yet. Ive been waiting for this forever. Now, one on Mike Stone please.
And hopefully he includes how Elvis allegedly tried ro put a hit on him I hope he writes one on his relationship with Bruce
This is all based on his Facebook postings.

Folks believe Hollywood and movies too much.bruce was good but not as the movies made him to be. There was no Internet back then for him to be exposed and meet his match.... I love Bruce movies but I don't mix TV with reality.....
Honestly that sums it up,now we had some UA-cam martial artist that seemed good on bags but lost when they got into fights with actual fighters
Projecting a little hard there aren’t you.

A boxing match? Joe's a kickboxer so it would have been a kickboxing match had they got into it
I really respect your discussions you are legit
