This is one of the sickest jams I've felt from him especially with what I'm going thru... aesop rock- thank you brotha, your poetic influence heals brotha, thank you ... mad props and loving energy to you
Looked up recommendations for some of the more articulate and lyrical artists today, heard of Aesop. Checked this out and couldn't understand at all what it was about at first, thought it was a string of irrelevant phrases. Then I checked out the meaning of the Lyrics on Genius and the picture started to form. This is one of the most expressive works I've seen and I'm glad to have come across it. Legendary content.
You threw this as a joke, but I have in fact spent about two hours today looking up vocabulary from his productions and practicing my pronunciation by singing along, in addition to gaining loads of figures of speech. I think this is more educational and plenty more effective than the typical literary schoolwork, because of how engaging it can be, in addition to the superior quality.
There needs to be a " shrunk" 2... I'm like idk ..somehow invested in this characters arch. Like the setting is set, motive or approach clear, but give us the rising action sir #AesopRock. And do a collab with aiker metatron of #LosFeoFaces. I feel like it could shake the earth if we had it.
FUCKIN FAV!!!!!!!!!!!!FUCKIN FAB!!!!!!! FUCKIN EYE OPENED WIDE PREACHING THE TRUTH! steady on aesop steady on all. much love from klang malaysia . om shanti
he’s not mainstream because most people don’t have a vocabulary like this, so i’m sure he knows he won’t be too famous by doing this lyrical stuff. i like it, just seems a little pandering sometimes.
@@jeremiahnovember2617 Aes doesn't take himself too seriously and allows himself to write about literally anything and own it. I have much respect for artists that are able to do this, you can really feel when something is organic and not 'manufactured' sounding.
@@beri4138 imo the best part of aesop isnt the lyrics directly but how they weave in with the instumentals, one changing the other, taking the flow to one part or another like at 0:36 where a piano riff plays after the main beat starts to become too noticeable from repetition or at 1:13 where it has more involved after the songs calmest point to bring the vocals out more
This is definitely one of my all-time favorite songs. It's hard to believe that he could squeeze so much real talk into three minutes.
It's the only song I can rap without a beat.
Lol I've listened to it too much
bro it both hits too close to home AND makes me feel better about being broken. wtf?! how!?

Perfect song
You posted it on 4/20 and this is what me and the squad be blasting in the Monte Carlo
One of the most underrated artists ever
not a single misplaced lyric, not a moment of respite.
Gawd damn this is a beautiful song
Why is Aesop rock being so difficult in the first verse?
Oh it’s because he skipped lunch.
...After I took the time to understand what the hell was going on in the beginning of the song, instant hilarity. Savage intro.
It looks like dictionary is a shortened version of Aesop Rock

He's just doing what he loves and his fans respect that. He's always rapped like this.

Lol hes not HUGE huge because hes just too real they dont want to bring attention.
He's not huge because most people can't understand his lyrics, or don't try to.
