I havent played magic in 15 years. I got mtga like 4 days ago and managed to get myself a nice black and blue control deck from the decklist and blew through to diamond and now im plateauing. I feel like at this level, knowing my own deck isn't enough. Theres alot that ive missed and i gotta improve my overall knowledge and game sense to keep climbing so im here lol thanks for the vid man
yeah it is definitely an interesting mindset you need to be in. The one good things there are some great creators who play and make content with that kind of mindset. CGB makes great content especially most of his videos has him playing the decks he posts in mythic.
Same man, I played from alpha through like visions or so and haven't played really since...just got back into it with arena, I've finished mythic this season and last season....it's all in the deck and how ya play it.....not to mention the game screws ya alot just gotta grind
dont waste your gold on standard events, save it for quick draft and farm rares and gems. focus in the latest set and watch a draft tutorial. play standard event with basic early deck is madness.
Thank you so much man! I didn't know about these codes at all! There are so many codes to redeem that make it so much better for new players like me! Thanks a lot. :) More noobs need to know this. Great video btw!
@@TheSkarTV It sure did! Can't thank you enough my dude. I got almost 30 packs worth of cards! Ton of sleeves, some exp and few unique card designs for some of the meta builds! All for free... If anyone else is reading try all the codes because I redeemed some of the "expired" ones and they still worked!
I feel like no one actually talks about how to actually build a deck. What are the Must have in order to make the deck focused and strong. That be aggro tempo midrange control combo etc
I did do a video on this subject but I do understand what you are saying. The hard thing when it come to this subject there are a lot of variables that come from each deck style. Sure each of these deck styles may focus on what they do but the cards they required may vary depending on deck colors and how you execute the decks strategy.
not 100% sure what you mean by this other then the idea that you can buy packs to get cards to create whatever deck you want. Also you still need to play games to win.
currently torn between getting into mtga or yugioh master duel. im terrible at both, but magic has the bonus of not having a youtube community of people that feel the need to yell their entire video lol
thats awesome. i would say if there is a particular deck that is giving you a hard time adjust the deck in a way that you have a cards to combat against it since you only get to play one game before moving on to the next.
playing in the play queue is what I think you are looking for. Direct challenge is for playing a friend on your friends list. Also you have to get through the games tutorial to unlock game mode in case you aren't seeing this as an option.
Hey I love your videos they're super useful. I'm a newer player but not completely budget. I have money to spend, so if I were to spend $100-200 what would you recommend? Should I find some decks that seem fun to me and just buy some packs from the expansions I need cards from?
yeah I would find decks that fit your play style and buy packs from one set and then use the wildcards you get to craft cards from other sets. Another idea could be you could build a deck that plays around a mechanic that's exclusive to just one set so its easier to open packs and then craft the cards you are missing. Or you can play a budget version of deck that fits your playstyle and then upgrade it that way as you get wildcards and such.
@@TheSkarTV This is a bad advice. 200 Bugs? Wait for the next set, buy the pre release player bundle. Till theEven if n you should farm Gold by grinding the quests. Then use the tokens and ur gold to draft as mutch as possible. Even if you dont geht to 5 wins, when the draft was free and u keep the cards plus price boosters, its still better value then buy lose packs. Keep grinding and dont open packs before you run out of gems and gold. Then open ur packs. Build a deck and have fun. BUT keep ur wildcards at least for 2-3 weeks till the meta stables. then build a meta deck and grind the ladder. Save ur gems and gold for the next set. oh and wait for the fall set, when the current meta will get crushed by the rotation.

best advice for people interested in this game...........don''t start......go play something where the devs actually give a toss about not breaking a game or fixing broken things they did game is still broken..cards still not working like they are supposed to/like it says on the cards..still moronic formats being introduced..all of it still being sucked up by people who have no clue apparently how broken the game is by devs who refuse to accept their decisions have brought the game down from the great game it used to be..to this pale shell of a game why else would they keep introducing stupid mechanics into a game that make no sense and have no part of Magic The gathering?......because it is broken and they are trying to wring every penny out of it while they can
MTG arena is bots and shuffle card manipulation to whatever psych causes more people to spend money. Twice while playing a bot now it has done impossible things , turn 3 it cast a 3 mana day/night artifact , then on my turn 3 it cast a playing with fire with 0 mana , it had the 3 tapped lands and the 3 to cast artifact lol , what it just did to me a few mins ago is too much to explain , but the counter spell deck took a extra turn to do 4 flying to me without casting a spell , it really is awful and a disgrace that after stopping buying anything in their store , it has thrown a terrible switch at me , stuck on 3 lands , flooded , stuck on 3 lands , flooded , over and over etc. With my built up gold i can buy hundreds of packs of the next set , but having to play with this being done continually really is dumb. This is a great game that is run by scumbags as most everything is.
I get it most card games are digital/physical can be pay to win. for me out of the many cards game I've played over the years there's something about magic that makes it stand out from a gameplay perspective from its competition.
@@TheSkarTV I can see why it’s a great game, they just really need to change how they teach you how to play in the tutorials especially the color challenges and also make rewards better for playing for free
yeah the current color challenge is an upgraded version of the previous tutorial they had and there will be more then likely new starter decks when we get closer to rotation in September.
I just started playing, I bought 100 bucks in packs and I’m doing very well.. u may say that’s pay to win but I also bought a neon dynasty booster box around the same price and idk.. it’s a card game you have to buy the cards. Just like in real life , the game is free I was doing really good with the green starter deck and winning a lot so I said screw it I’ll buy some cards but I was doing just fine with the green starter, they also have the 20 dollar IRL decks that come with codes, I do wish you could if you owned a card get it in the game too instead of double buying but idk I’m not pressed I’m having fun

now I can agree that it can be a waste of gold early on. it is still a decent way to make gold with little currency invested to enter.

Is there a way to get more than one daily challenge a day at a time?
unfortunatly you cannot. the only way to have multiple at once is if you dont play for a day or two
