Using a wider than usual 2.75 in binding I will add the binding with the serger thus finishing all raw edges and trimming everything at once. I will turn then turn the binding, hold in place with binding clips, and sew down using a # 4 serpentine stitch with my BERNINA.
@@sandycampbell6087 I opted to leave the selvage because if cut off the backing would not be large enough. Otherwise I would have serged trimming the selvage off and then pieced together with a one inch seam allowance. The one inch seam allowance allows for enough fabric to press the seams opens without bulk.

Would you normally trim denim selvedges or leave as was done? Would serging raw edges after trimming selvedges leave more bulk?
