Calling to God path is not saying this simple sentence "you should be a Muslim" plus Islam came gradual, first it was just declaration of faith , then salah, no fasting, people were drinking alcohol, then it was prohibited to pray while drunk, so people who drank they kept alcohol at night after the last prayer to fadjer prayer (the longest period so they can drink and the effect of alcohol goes away before next prayer) then after awhile God prohibited it, See how God , the All merciful, gave them time to quit.. How wise is our God, Almighty, Allah the light of heaven and Earth.
