I agree that certain perfumes do provoke very specific memories. My mom's perfumes are very memory producing but what REALLY brings me back is one of my own: Love's Baby Soft Fresh Lemon. I wore all of the Love's scents but lemon takes me back to The Roller Drome, holding hands with my first boyfriend during "couples only skate." Really enjoyed this magazine flip-through. So many memories (positive and negative) from the ads. Thank you!

Lavender is a scent that brings me freshness and the feeling of being on a holiday at the Provence.
Another memory of scent : we visited Parc guell in Barcelona and it was really hot. With all those little stones I was literally burning. About to faint when we reached our bus. As I was seated, about to pass out, there was a lady next to me with far too much perfume on her… but it brought me back to my senses. So I was very grateful.

I know it's sound very " classic " but it's a very particular smell that I cannot describe it's like a mix of coffee and clean space smell ( she's a cleaning maniac 😂 ) and it's one of the best smell ! I've NEVER smell the same kind of odors anywhere else even if my living room smell coffee it's not the same 😂 I can only visit my grandma 1-2 times a year since she lives far from me, but that was the same smell and the same house since I was a child, and everytime I pass the door, the memories kick me and makes me so happy 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I also have a bottle of my Grandmother's perfume, and when I'm sad or anxious, I take the cap off and smell it...it's comforting, the closest thing to getting a hug from her again. Magazine flip throughs are my absolute favorite. I also love finding older magazines and flipping through them.
Scent memory: I can't actively remember the scent but it has to be my Gradma's perfume. It was some sort of Avon perfume. She was so soft and warm and safe feeling and as a child I loved to put my head on her chest and feel protected. I have some of her old stuff and sometimes I'll come across it and it still smells like her!
Also the smell of my mom or my grandfather's cooking. Just the best.

My best scent memory is kinda weird. It’s blackberries mixed with car smoke. When I was growing up I used to be around my nans almost every other weekend and my nan lived in a small council house in the not so prettiest part of south london (where I spent most of my childhood tho) and we used to go pick blackberries off of a wall which was right next to a busy road. The blackberries always smelt so fresh and strong no matter how much fumes had touched them and the fresh smell mixed with the strong scent of smoke and petrol is a smell I’ll never forget. 🙏

My favorite scent memory would have to be fresh lilacs. They don’t bloom for very long (at most a month) so it was always a very special time of the year. Always used to bring bundles for teachers and to leave in my locker as a kid!

My favorite scent memory is from my childhood. Waking up every morning to the smell of my mom brewing her morning coffee. She’d wake up super early, have her coffee, her time of solitude for reading and relaxing, and then she’d take on raising 6 kids as they woke up. She’s amazing! I always think of her and smile while I smell fresh coffee brewing. ❤

I bought my first box of diet pills when I was in 4th grade and probably weighed 85 pounds. I developed an eating disorder because I couldn’t be what “everyone” said I should be. I am six feet tall and I did some modeling in junior high and high school but couldn’t get signed because I couldn’t get down to 120 pounds. I constantly dieted, took pills, over exercised, and hated myself. As an adult I saw a picture of myself from that time and I was so appalled. I was stick thin anorexic and I had thought I was fat. I’m glad to say that I had a very healing experience and I’m no longer anorexic. But it is appalling to me the pressure on our youth to look a certain way. My daughter has an eating disorder and during treatment EVERY SINGLE PARENT said social media was one of the defining factors in their children’s disorders. What we don’t teach our daughters is that from the age of 11-14 your body is SUPPOSED to gain 40 pounds. But girls perceive that as getting fat. It’s so important to do what you did in this video-support their spirit and value and beauty. Thanks for bringing out these important topics.

I JUST had a conversation about this very topic not 10 minutes ago! That your comment showed up is divine. I remember trying to look like the girls in the magazines and for the life of me, couldn’t! I was short and curvy, so long and lean was out of reach, so I felt terrible in my own body. Like I just wasn’t good enough. And I would bet most of my girlfriends felt the same way.
Thank you for sharing this! And yes, let’s keep the positive message going for our younger girls - and boys!
