I don't think it's that difficult. Looking at the crimes Gentle committed, they weren't bad at all. Probably prison was for villains with small crimes. With his skills and quirk, he easily dealt with his opponents. (Deku had a little trouble with him before)
I'm not sure what's a bigger flex: Gentle single-handedly catching the Coffin in the Sky while boosted by La Brava, or him single-handedly preventing a prison break WITHOUT a boost.

Gentle stopping the prison break was actually teased back in season 6. After the prison break of AFO, the narration mentioned that they went out to attack 7 other prisons but only 6 had prison breaks. Gentle's prison was the only one where the prison break failed and it was all because of Gentle Criminal.
That's why he's the GOAT!

The way they animated it... Making the parallel between Deku and Gentle even clearer, when Gentle says "I just wanted to help" his face and tone of voice were EXACTLY the same as in episode 2 of the series when Deku told Bakugou "You looked like you were asking for help". Perfection.
Deku is just Gentle if Gentle managed to save that man
*I’m honestly super proud of Gentle and La Brava. They really pulled through and proved how truly heroic they are. Not to mention powerful. Gentle did so much work behind the scenes and I can’t imagine how hard La Brava must be working herself.*

It’s great to see Gentle, Nagant, and La Brava coming back and be the heroes they’ve always dreamed of being. Also, it’s finally time for Touya to get the attention he deserves!
Might+U…easily among the best of OST’s in anime
The scene where Shigaraki bursts from the chest of his old body feels like a scene straight out of Alien. Absolutely wild. I was so happy reading the dialogue in the manga about the mall because it was one of the first times in a long time that you could tell Shigaraki was speaking. Not AFO. Not a mix of the two of them. Just Shigaraki. He remembered his talk with Deku at the mall and basically tells him to his face that he's his villain. And Deku remembers Shigaraki's speech from last season. The lack of understanding from the others is why society has heroes and villains.
Skeptic mentioned way back in MVA that he had only failed once before in his life. Just one time. And we see what that was in this episode. La Brava hacking into his company's systems and basically screwing them over. Now she gets to do the same thing again as Gentle pulls out his inner Atlas and begins to hold up the sky. Well, a trampoline of air holding up a falling dome in the sky. But still. That's a lot of pressure. Nagant, Gentle, La Brava and Shigaraki. All villains who returned in their own ways this episode. Speaking of villains, Touya is headed straight for Endeavor. And this time, Endeavor promises to keep watching him.

I remember he said that. I didn’t even make that realization! That ONE time Skeptic failed was when he got hacked by La Brava. Amazing call back
This episode had me belly laughing so hard while I just sobbed uncontrollably. This episode OUT OF NOWHERE is another masterpiece that ONLY Horikoshi could provide us. I don’t think there’s a single person in the world that would make an episode like this. And it be THIS emotional and fantastic. This episode is the EPITOME of My Hero Academia. As in to say you will find yourself in a place where you HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS HAPPENING, YOU FEEL EVERY EMOTION, and there’s nothing in this that isn’t incredibly thought provoking and worth exploring EVERYONE that has ever existed in this show.
To start off, we have Kurogiri and Toga. A combination that can decimate EVERYTHING as it stands. Endless copies going to EVERY battlefield and throw everything in every direction. Dabi has arrived to the AFO field and has already created a massive fire ring to trap EVERYONE, combining rainy conditions, temperature too hot for people to operate in, smother them with people….OH AND ALL FOR ONE IS IN HIS PRIME WITH NO ACTIVE OPPONENTS. It’s all Uraraka can do to chase Toga, AND she has to use her buried emotions for Deku to grab the true Toga’s attention. The AFO battlefield went from a place of major victory to hell on earth. Which means AFO is right at home.
There’s a number of heroes that have completely lost their usefulness, and worse, there’s not a single person seeing the state of the battlefield that doesn’t realize what had to have happened at the other fields. We learned this in the 1st war. You can have a 99.999999% success for a mission. But if even that 0.000001% chance goes out of hand in this world, you LOST. Only about 150 people out of 100,000 escaped the 1st war and THIS is what they got to. And only 10 or so villains are doing THIS. JUST Kurogiri escaped, JUST Toga escaped, JUST Dabi escaped. And they are making HELL ON EARTH untapped. Endeavor is down an arm and has maximized his power to the max he can operate at against AFO, Hawks has been horribly scewered and bludgeoned a number of times, and they have to completely change gears in REAL TIME. Jiro can still count her blessings for her loss of an ear considering her and Tokoyami’s decision to confront AFO. So it’s something.
AFO gets to just think about his countless contingencies hard pressing the result he wants and knows it’s just time to go to Shigaraki. His work here is done. Hawks has decided his opponent. He has to keep AFO here. And away from AFS. AFO just does what he does best and stirs the pot on EVERY decision they make, showing with just 4 people, everyone is VERY outnumbered. (Also I’m not sure if AFO can take fusion quirks he makes like Kurogiri’s warp gate or if he’s only able to separate the gloop warp and Shirakumo’s cloud quirk combining the range and warp capacity. Might be one of his few limits) Endeavor HAS to face Dabi as there’s simply no one else that could keep his attention. (And I think Toga even stops attacking Endeavor FOR Dabi’s sake) There’s too many choices. But only one forced bad decision. Everyone already knows they have to do the impossible worst choice as it’s simply the only choice available to make as everything else disappears.
Need more hell? Kurogiri TRULY decided to go to the AFS field. And he knocks over Monoma. Eye contact broken. Hit his head and we don’t even see him get back up so we don’t know if he can copy Toga’s copied quirk double for our team. Aizawa can’t do anything with such numbers, that’s one of his weaknesses. Erasure…is off the board. And that means that Deku now has to face his physical equal when he’s using all 8 quirks of OFA….with UNCOUNTABLE quirks. The battlefield is breaking down meaning AFS could get to open ground and make giant decay waves. No repairs are available to make. Skeptic is steering the flying island AND the evacuation blocks Nezu made. And the 2nd’s quirk recoil has arrived. We now know why using Gearshift was AS stupid as using 100% to break his arms to cross the ocean. The 2nd’s recoil is suffocation and the 2nd is ordering Deku NOT TO STOP. And there’s 6 OTHER recoils that can be found if Deku is not careful. And even though Shigaraki appears from within AFO CONCLUSIVELY not as Tenko, he STILL WANTS GLOBAL DESTRUCTION. He’s not any SAFER of an opponent than AFO regardless of skill difference. And he’s HEALING AGAIN. And Deku is the ONLY person strong enough to catch UA here. The jets can’t fire their lasers at Twice due to Aizawa, Monoma, Present Mic, and Manual ALL being there. What could get worse. (Mandalay is 100% proving why she’s my favorite of the Wild Wild Pussycats though.)
And even if I said VERBATIM what happened next. There’s not a SOUL ON EARTH that would believe me. I actually had to stop myself from doing EXACTLY THAT when a few mysteries showed their faces. And those mysteries? What was Skeptic’s obsessive mistake that was SO MUCH WORSE and a genuine failure for him than unleashing Twice’s full potential AGAINST HIM, AND letting Hawks slip past him despite his surveillance to start the 1st war. Two MASSIVE errors but they don’t compare to THIS mistake. I COULD HAVE AND WANTED TO SAY “CLEARLY this was because Skeptic lost ALL HIS MAJOR operating systems in Feel Good Inc to CAT MEMES HES AFRAID OF MADE BY LA BRAVA.” Because THAT IS WHAT HORIKOSHI DECIDED TO WRITE AS A CANON EVENT IN HIS STORY. I don’t know what any moderator would’ve done other than give me MASSIVE side eye the rest of the show if I didn’t provide chapters or actual line quotes. I didn’t for every manga reader’s sanity, but I SO wanted to stress test this. This girl is making UA not COMPLETELY fall because she’s having a HACKING BATTLE WITH SKEPTIC AND WON. WHO CARES IF NEZU LOOKS COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT WITHOUT BEING A VILLAIN. WE HAVE CAT MEMES. (Nezu is now officially my least favorite character in MHA due to him not being a traitor and THIS is what happened to his heroic contributions as the SMARTEST CHARACTER IN THE SHOW. But I’ll take one COMPLETELY squandered character if it makes me laugh THIS HARD.) And Skeptic screaming about liberation just runs RIGHT into Ms Joke, Grand (Yo Shindo), and Hound Dog.
With such hell happening across this episode, we need a hero. NAY, WE NEED A REAL MAN. We need a GENTLEMAN. The other is major mystery I had to stop myself from saying VERBATIM is when AFO escaped prison, he also attacked 7 other prisons and only 6 had full jailbreaks with 1 persevering. OBVIOUSLY GENTLE CRIMINAL SOLO’D EVERY SINGLE PRISONER WITH ONLY MINOR INJURIES BECAUSE THIS MAN IS A FREAKING HERO. (Horikoshi WROTE this and I LOVE IT.) This fine high end Gentleman must have only gotten like a year TOPS for his crimes and was likely pardoned on the SPOT for this. And he ON HIS OWN MERITS BOUNCES ACROSS THE OCEAN TO CATCH UA with the POWER OF LOVE. I feel like my head was torn off. Gentle Criminal did this to save everyone BUT ESPECIALLY the boy who saved him while showing his endless passion to make someone smile
And do you need MORE insanity?! Well making a pinpoint shot from an INSANE distance from the hospital, with an arcing bullet that pierces OFA’s 45% energy armor, ALSO pierces AFS’s All-Might-steroid body. The big feats are more the distance, the variety, and the accuracy over the speed and power. Lady Nagant who ONLY in a Horikoshi world would survive by her…let’s go her will and her being buff. Buffness is immortality in MHA. And everyone is JACKED.
And someone else has left their station to be a complete LEGEND.
This is MHA at its finest. Just…never stop. This is why this is my favorite show.

We got La Brava, Gentle AND Lady Nagant back in to help our heros out amd just at the perfect time for each of them to show up too! Skeptic hacked the system, La Brava was there to counter. UA was losing altitude, Gentle came to help. And when Shigiraki was seemingly gonna use Decay after the effects of erasure from both Aizawa and Monoma, Lady Nagant shot Shigiraki not once but TWICE all the way from the central hospital where she was at while recovering from her injuries from such a huge distance that I’m pretty sure she could only barely even see UA from where she was, talk about a badass sniper

13:13 Something I've seen alot of people miss is that she did, in fact, tried to load another one into his dome. You can see the second impact at 11:29 pushing his head to the side right after she blew his hand off. If you watch in slow-mo, you can even see a second bullet ricochetting off his head. It was in the manga as well, Nagant DID try to kill Shigaraki right there
i always saw Gentle as a kind of mirror to Twice. they aren't exact, but both of them wanted to be helpful with the lives they had but stumbled into the wrong place at the wrong time.
and where Twice found his love amongst the villains of the world, Gentle found love and saw the mistakes he made and the chance to be better because of it (although it took an ass whooping to be fair) and actually stepped forward to do the heroic thing even though he was classified as a villain.
im super hyped he's back, as well as Nagant, and fighting the good fight against the ultimate evil to boot. he will always be a Hero in my eyes

The 2nd says "everything thats happened until now will surely come back to help you..." Foreshadowing at its best. Brava / Gentle / Nagant show up right after that.
The song that played during Gentle's big moment was Might-U, the same version that played in the second MHA Movie where Deku and Bakugo went supernova together. The lyrical version of the same song was played when Deku rescued Eri in Season 4
I don't know if yall saw it but after Lady Nagant shot his hand she actually did shoot him in the head lol, it was so quick that I can see why some people missed it

So if the manga is correct at estimating Nagants position to Shiggys, it was ~204km or 126.76 miles. Holy shit. If that's the case she broke the longest shot in recorded history by about 54 times. Not to mention during extreme weather conditions, on a moving target, immediately out of the hospital, and after being exploded and having her arm gun broken. That's literally insane. She really had the power of God and anime on her side bro.
