Excellent trip report Emil! It’s funny to me because Edelweiss is supposed to be a discount Swiss yet the seat seemed the same and the service seemed far better than on other long haul Swiss videos I’ve seen.
This was quite a cheap price too, RT ARN-ZRH-TPA/LAS-FRA-ARN was just under 500 dollars. So my expectations were quite low for them. But wow did they surpass them

I also recently flew with Edelweiss. The plane was completely full, but the experience was great with lots of drinks, friendly crew, plenty of bread, good food, etc. This reflects my flight experience well, though I did not have the possibility to claim other seats. : - )

Only flew Edelweiss once from Zurich to Faro, Portugal. Service was amazing for a short intra-european economy class flight; breakfast and gingerbread snack. Definitely superior to transatlantic flight on Swiss. Would not hesitate to take Edelweiss again.

Edelweiss look great here. They look like they have a very solid product that i've also seen on reviews elsewhere too. The crew seemed friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain options. Probably helped by the quieter load, but always good nonetheless. The A340 is a great aeroplane to catch too. I'll be trying out Edelweiss from Newquay in September this year. Looking forward to it!
Such a cool aircraft I haven't been on yet. I'm in TPA now so maybe in the future, I need to catch her arriving one of these days. Edelweiss has pretty impressive service.
Nice flight report. I flew on HB-JMG (Edelweiss a340) end of 2022 from ZRH to MRU with a stopover in SEZ. I tested their business class which was excellent too apart from the fact one can’t turn to the side once laid down due to the feet well. The seats are located just beside the engines so I had to put on provided earplugs. The throne seats offer lots of space and privacy. Service was nice, cabin crew friendly and polite. I’d go for Ecomax next time.

A340-300: Like you said, considered to be climbing solely due to the curvature of the earth; The only jet aircraft susceptible to a bird-strike from the rear.

the mexican water made it on board because Edelweiss flies Cancun as well. for the inbound flight there‘s always an exchange where you get the local water from the outside stations. the water not fully used on that leg will be used for other flights :)

Thank you for this video. I'm flying this same Edelweiss Air A340 plane from Tampa (TPA) to Zurich (ZRH) in 8 days (Monday, 9/16) and you were able to answer all my questions regarding this flight. I was wondering about meals, drinks, entertainment, power outlets and WiFi availability. As of today the flight is only half full and I have no one sitting next to me in Economy. I plan to stretch out as this is an overnight flight. WHOOHOO! 😴🛌✈🥂🥂🍾🍷🍱

When this airplane flew for Swiss it had a first-class cabin up front. the business class seats and location were kept as is while the first class seats were removed and replaced by these economy max seats.
The configuration with EcoMax in front and Business in the middle is because of same safety- and oxygen-mask-installations which were not been changed when Edelweiss got the planes from SWISS.😊

Hopefully it was a on off and the flight is actually full most days. Crazy how TPA is now decently connected internationally compared to a few years back.

I have flown edelweiss on ther a320ceo to chania(Crete). I would recommend flying edelweiss.

Little bit of an editing mistake...
10 hours in economy, wow you are my hero, no way would I ever do that I don't care what type of plane. However, that plane with 4 engines is very cool not being a 747.
Will fly with this plane and carrier around next chrismas, hope the product remains unchanged. 😅

I have flown with edelweiss a330-300 in 2021 to punta cana and my expectations were lowet than submarine. But after round trip i found out that edelweiss was one of the best airline i have ever flown

I recently flew Edelweiss and it was by far the worst experience as a passenger I have ever had. On the outgoing flight after a full day in the air we were served exactly 5 pieces of penne pasta in mayo and 4 pieces of old fruit for dinner! Cabin crew was extremely annoyed when asked for water. We were also not allowed to stand in the galley to wait for the restroom despite crew not doing a service and seatbelt signs being off. Same issues with food, water and movement on the inbound flight. Apparently humanity, decency and a concern for passenger health, safety and dignity are not features of this vile, subhuman airline.
Edelweiss is a leisure carrier, but is known in Switzerland as being premium. They also want to be and stay premium, and they seem to be doing very well. I've flown a few times and the second round of bread and the many drink runs are normal, not just on light loads!
Jesus Christ,,,, how many drink runs were there? Ive been in business class on some airlines, where you get filthy looks if you look for a 3rd drink from the "we´re really just here for your safety workers haha

Your video is okay, so far. However no leisure airline can be better than Swiss airlines..The flight is empty and this route should be replaced with: Miami, a nearby American city.
