Not as easy as you'd think. If it were a movie -- like a real move, not a fan film; a commercial film -- it would be better if the movies focused on a different point in the series imho, like maybe before SR and after BO2, or maybe after Defiance. Reason being that because the dialogue is SO iconic, it might ruin it for some people to hear an actor say it differently than the game. I'm not even talking about dumbing down dialogue, I'm just talking about how the lines are spoken and delivered. And actors are *not* puppets, so you can't just "make" them say it a certain way, because then it becomes artificial. Although, I'm SERIOUSLY considering, as a film maker, getting an entertainment attorney and getting the film rights from Square.

Agreed with all the requests to re-release this series with upgraded graphics. Personally, I'd love to see the original games all rolled into one mega game for such a re-release, one flowing into the next with the same updated look. The two Soul Reaver games in particular would benefit from this, I think. Seguing to Blood Omen 2 would be awkward, but there'd be an opportunity to clarify its context (for ages I didn't understand that it was the result of the time tampering at the end of Soul Reaver 2). Anyway, my two cents. I'm sure there are many that'd prefer it stay a series of distinct games.
BO2 follows Defiance, storyline-wise. Chronologically, it's the Kain from Blood Omen 1, before the events of Soul Reaver 1, but taking into account the time line changes put into place in Defiance. Hence it being about Janos and the Hylden Lord, and Kain's rise to power simultaneously.

How could could you transform a Sarafan Priest into a vampire?" vs "I found the Tomb of Sarafan, Kain. How could you profane a priest by turning him into a vampire?!"). It's always interesting to see this compared to how it was redone for the Soul Reaver 2 opening. The way they had Kain moving the whole time, adjusting the controls as he and Raziel have their little argument certainly made it more interesting. Plus some of Kain's moral posturing was taken out in the redone dialog. And the Elder making false promises that once he goes through the portal he will be beyond his influence. "And here I thought I was done with you for good. The silence was refreshing."

Technically speaking he shot lightning out of his hands in Blood Omen 1 (sort of...) - in fact, he had a bunch of abilities in BO1 that would have made that fight with Raziel a lot shorter if he still had them. That's probably why he doesn't. ;)
The entire point of this playthrough was to get the videos; it was also the third playthrough in 2 days due to recording issues the first 2 times. So at that point, I really didn't care about anything superfluous, went for the cutscenes, and ignored everything else. :P
The SR2 intro is on UA-cam, take a look and see :) Not much difference, except that the fight itself is stylized. The dialog is almost the same script.
The PC emulator *does* make the game look better, since emulators (most of them anyway) have better graphical enhancement support then the game itself does, so you can get much crisper models with less jaggies.
Actually its all an excellent improv, SR1 was supposed to be longer with Kain dying at the end and Raziel destroying all the Vampires in Nosgoth with the Organs in Zephons citadel. look up videos by RainaAudron, he has the deleted voice content patched to the scenes in chronoplast.

Looks like a hand, a left hand
Technically speaking he shot lightning out of his hands in Blood Omen 1 (sort of...) - in fact, he had a bunch of abilities in BO1 that would have made that fight with Raziel a lot shorter if he still had them. That's probably why he doesn't. ;)
The entire point of this playthrough was to get the videos; it was also the third playthrough in 2 days due to recording issues the first 2 times. So at that point, I really didn't care about anything superfluous, went for the cutscenes, and ignored everything else. :P
moebius says it better here waaaaaay better
welcome to your DESTINY!!!!!!
I have not one, but two copies for the PS1. That along proves it was for PS1 also.
The SR2 intro is on UA-cam, take a look and see :) Not much difference, except that the fight itself is stylized. The dialog is almost the same script.
The PC emulator *does* make the game look better, since emulators (most of them anyway) have better graphical enhancement support then the game itself does, so you can get much crisper models with less jaggies.
i would love it if they brought this game to xbox live market place and playstation network, with slightly updated physyics but not a complete remake
1:27-1:37 Flawless. Freaking beautiful.
