- If anyone has a better title suggestion for these types of videos that include random, wtf, and sometimes funny moments please let me know. I don't think the UA-cam algorithm particularly likes "Random + WTF" anymore or it treats it differently than it used to.

I really do wish they would have gone the other way with the 8x scope change and instead made all the other scopes match the ADS speed of the previous 8x scope ADS speed. It felt perfect and honestly I don't see the reason for hindering bolt-action rifles like that.

DICE really just said "If everyone is super, nobody is super." and figured that would fix everything.
When i read they slowed down the ADS speed on the 8x it blew me away. Surely no one was having a hissy fit over it by getting "quick" scoped or is it they seen some daft Data to backup their decision 🤷♂️ Also Rav, what is Dynamic Resolution Scale in the display options, im guessing to low res but keep the native but then there's an additional option about refresh rate target.
Yeah the 8x ADS speed change was a bit odd. I tweeted at the dev likely in charge of that area but haven't seen a response or reasoning for that change. Sorry I have no idea what exactly the Dynamic Resolution Scale does in this game, it sounds like it could be useful but I would think more people would be talking about it if it was. I know what Render Resolution was in BFV because I used that to reduce the eyestrain from TAA but I'd have to test the Dynamic Resolution Scale to actually see what it did or if it did anything at all because I know I saw people mention DLSS not working at all in the game or making things even more blurry.
@@Ravic Typical Devs, reply as and when they feel they need too. In regards to the resolution scale 25% i get 60ish-fps 100% -100 fps but the imagine looked grainy/pixelated as such or perhaps it's taking longer for the frames to render, take a look see what you think 👍
@@dinxsy8069 If the resolution scale is anything like other games, it drops the in-game resolution (not the window resolution) down to whatever setting you put it to. So you can get real good framerates if you're looking for 150+, but it tanks the ability to actually see anything.
@@n.sheppard-turner2112 yeah it seems thats the case, it's the refresh rate that has me confused. The visuals do look worse but it's tough when it looks bad in the first place, from what I can tell it takes long to render when ADS yet could be wrong 🤣

As much as I’d like to it stay “Random + WTF moments” for nostalgia’s sake, “Random and Funny Moments” would probably work better for the algorithm
9:21 kind of reminds me of Battlefield 2 where hitboxes would lag behind character models in a lot of circumstances. Even after the patch that fixed it it would still happen from time to time.

I like how you can just casually whip to the left 90° and pop a parachute from distance. I for one can not get the velocity down on the first shot let alone the fourth.
Ravic out of curiosity are you left handed? Also in relation to 2042 do you prefer the absence of class-gun restrictions or would you prefer to go back to having guns be restricted like in previous titles?

The game is gonna need a lot of time to get in a better place. If they do pull off. It's fun because of the things that you can do with friends, but at the same time there are a alot of problems.

Something really wierd with the hitboxes.. Shots at times feel like they would be a hs but doesnt reg at all
I've had some success with the infantry mine/claymore things on Bolte, reminds me of the BFV light tank times.

@Ravic, I really wanted to get this as a long time BF fan, but after seeing the crazy amount of negative Steam reviews it is worth getting now? Or is it better to wait till some of the issues get worked out?
If BF4 was released on Steam when it launched it would be ranked worse than BF2042. Do you have friends to play with? If not it'll be pretty rough as most recent Battlefield games require playing with friends or someone else to support each other. I think you can trial it with EA Play or you could just wait and get it on sale, it's a Battlefield game so it'll go on sale eventually.
Yea your 100% right there is something not right with hit boxs in the game. I never had trouble in previous titles hitting people running horizontally but in this game I find it to be very inconsistent. Hopefully a patch soon with fix it.

I've noticed I cannot shoot through fence railings, the same as not being able to shoot through the spinning helicopter rotor.
I really think a lot of pc players are not playing due to performance issues but idk how many people playing on origin. but keep up the great videos.

That depends on what you mean by squad/team play elements. If you are referring to stuff like the squad perk progression stuff like in BF4 then no, if you are referring to stuff usually gets done automatically by having a class system ( meds, reviving, repairing ) then yes. If you are referring to something else please give me a little more information or details to go on.
@@Ravic just a whole lot of things from throughout BF's games primarily BFV with things like top squad, squad points for calling in reinforcements and as you said revives/repairing. And also just simple things like being able to switch squads, and checking the scoreboard to see where you all are. When I play I just don't get the incentive to stick with my squad as much as I did before.
@@diabeefees1141 Top squad thing is still technically in the game it's just not visible to everyone, it does however show if your squad was the number 1 or top squad in the match. BFV reinforcement squad points isn't needed and honestly it drives gameplay in a bad direction and creates poor or negative player behavior. Switching squads is still technically in the game it just doesn't let you choose what squad. Scoreboard isn't a squad or team play element, like a few of the things you mentioned it's more of an individual or selfish thing. For example go back to any previous Battlefield game and ask yourself, does this game need a scoreboard for squad or team play? Nope, does it make the individual feel warm and fuzzy? Yup.

@@diabeefees1141 By the way I wasn't suggesting the game doesn't need squad or team play elements I was just pointing out some of the things you mentioned weren't those or weren't related to it. The game is similar to BF1 and BF5 where you in a squad of people you know will have zero influence over the outcome of the round/match or it will feel like it. Wins and losses are as meaningless in this game as they were in BF1 and BF5 because of the many catch-up mechanics. It's just something to get used to until a particular dev at DICE decides to leave or stop trying to force useless game mechanics.
At least your having fun with the game...

Hey Ravic, I’m curious to know your general feeling so far over the game ?
I like it more than BF1 but like every Battlefield game it has issues although a lot of the major issues were ones that I and many others warned about months before the game launched back when they announced a lot of the core elements of the game.
@@Ravic I figured you liked BF1 based off the amount of content you put out on it. At what point would you draw the line and not play a BF game?
@@taylorkelly6145 Hardline is probably a close example. I knew the game would last about a month on PC and that is about as long as we ended up playing it before going back to BF4. Not enough PC Battlefield players in NA or the US to support a game so dramatically different from "normal" Frostbite Battlefield games.

Moving while shooting does affect bullet trajectory like most Battlefield games.

The 8x scope had a quicker ADS speed prior to the update #3 being deployed. It was a comfortable speed that felt good but now because of the changes in update #3 it's unnecessarily slow. My comment in the description was suggesting that DICE should instead make the ADS speed of the other scopes for bolt-action rifles faster to match that previous faster ADS speed we were accustomed to prior to update #3.

I'm not sure how update #3 would fix anyone's performance, there were no real performance fixes or optimizations in the update.

Oh I've always preferred the SWS, with a game that has inconsistent hitboxes or desynced player models it's better to have a bolt-action that can re-bolt faster vs one that is slower but has faster muzzle velocity, but that is also just my personal opinion.
Is this game worth buying? I do like Battlefield.
I think you can trial it for 10 hrs with EA Play, if the game feels to rough to you in that amount of time then wait. Battlefield games tend to go on sale relatively quickly compared to other games.
