Why is this organization and the BLM NOT doing birth control on the mares? Give the mares in the wild birth control for a few years every 10 years and that is a much safer way to thin the herds and far less traumatic. Not to mention, doing this would help tremendously in controlling the horse population and not so many horses would end up at the slaughter houses in Canada and Mexico.
So how do you know which day the horses decide to go on the swim ? Never mind I see now I guess it's quite profitable then....with all the CARE you put in....I'm disgusted...these horses would have been stronger and more vibrant if left alone
They can only keep 150 of these ponies. No more than that. It's the law in Chincoteague, Virginia. You more likely don't like asking questions like other idiots who do the same thing.
looks like animal abuse to me. Yes, horses can transverse waterways but only when they have to, for water or food. Humans can swim also. Lets throw in some children and see if they are strong enough to make it. But just in case put a chase boat out.
Eric's Variety Channel They are not abused!! You obviously do not know anything about horses or the pony swim history. Before you say anything look up information.
@@christinadavis8328 So, I read their entire dossier and living on an island for 400 years with the mainland in sight, never made the swim over voluntarily.? Stick to facts and tell me why.
Eric's Variety Channel The horses are vet checked 2 or 3 times a year. They get shots and health assessment. And on the swim they are surrounded by boats and saltwater cowboys on horses and around them. And the foals and the pregnant horses are trailered over they do not swim
These ponies are the most beautiful ponies in the world. The BLM could take a lesson from these folks who actually care about the herds.
Yeah, it's horrible how they treat Mustangs... But at least there are Mustang Sanctuaries all over the US who do care about the horses.
@@barbwire3507 Hello! BLM as in Bureau Land Management. Not Black Lives Matter, lol. I know it's very confusing.

@@christinadavis8328 I did before I commented. Ask yourself if the horses would have made this swim without urging.

Yes they would have
