      I’m building a 20 x 15 patio all by myself. :) lots of sweating. I’ve lost 15 pounds so far - that tamper is a great ab workout!! Lol

    A great way to build your fire pit! I bought one and put it out in our lawn. The edges have rusted so the paint wore off. Not too concerned about it but rust may take it from me as the years pass!

    Love the end result! But how long did it really take, lol !
    I’m a little surprised at your use of black pots in full sun in your area. I avoid them in Florida unless they’re going in deep shade. Anything to keep the roots of my plants as cool as possible.

    Very good but ..I'd make it much bigger. If you're gonna go to the trouble you might as well make it a good size. Also if your in the north you got to go much deeper with the gravel and crushed stone to prevent ice damage. They did about a foot of gravel and a foot of crushed stone for my patio in the Catskills . It's held up great for about ten years now

      @@RPDBY I don't know the science. The builder told me you have to do this to prevent ice and cold from moving

    Hi Laura, I see you plan to do a question and answer video. Can you go over terrarium ideas and how to care for an open container terrarium. I have watched a couple videos, but I remember you had one or two that you have. And plants you’d suggest that would do well.

    The product data sheet for that adhesive indicates a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't expect those pavers to stay together after very many fires.

      We did this at my brother's house and It's been over a year now since we put it in. They've had a bunch of fires and he says you can see the adhesive is separating a little bit but that the firepit is still rock solid. So far so good!

      Garden Answer ive had people choose to mudset instead adhesive. But it lasts. That guy doesnt know anything about installing firepits

      no worries, fire wont burn in the pi well, no air will flow from the bottom, bad design

      They should of remove the pavers under fire pit and put down steel band to avoid other pavers stones from cracking.

      This Patio Set Is Likely Made Of A ' Synthetic Resin Wicker ' ( Nylon, Polyethylene, PVC ) . . . Along With ' Outdoor Cushion/Fabric Materials ' . . . As With Nearly All Outdoor Sets, You Can Purchase A Cover For Each Piece. Shelter From Snow/Ice Where Applicable.

    Very nice job, except that fire pit, I would prefer it round ( less chance of ramming shins on~) and cemented instead of glued and with air flow holes to make it easy to make the fire and sustain it.

    That’s the beauty of the sod cutter you can also use it to break up couple inches of dirt to remove easily . I bought one with tax almost 8 grand but worth it

      @@adriankap2978 yup. Make sure you rent the contractor one it’s going to be a 350-450lbs machine. In Canada it’s like $120 for the day rental . Don’t rent the small one it’s not as good

    Most if not all machines can be rented so I’m not sure why some people are assuming you have to buy them? What I find amazing is they did it themselves. Laura actually laid the pavers by herself and don’t know the weather but the sun was beating down on her the whole time. Something no matter how young I could have been is something I never could have done. Thats hard work.

    You need to blow that excess joint sand compound then lightlt water it to set the material.

      I think they went the cheap route and just used joint sand and not polysand

    You forget to spray it down with a shower of water to lock in polymeric sand.

    Did you level the gravel base? Wouldn't the screeding pipe need to be level in order to get level sand bed?

    I never understood that furniture not being under an awning or some kind of enclosure...and you may have to redo your fire pit...using cement in the joints...its really beautiful...

      The majority of patio furniture in this country (U.S.) is not under an enclosure. In most cases, that kind of defeats the purpose of sitting on an open patio. Plus, that's what they make patio furniture covers for. :-)

      I was wondering this as well. My fire pit area is not close to any of my irrigation and I know I'll forget to hand water. Any suggestions?     What we’re the two machines you used in the beginning? Our backyard is a little uneven and without grass due to our large golden retrievers beating it down and it being a mud pit every time it rains. I planned on renting a lawn roller and using that with the gravel and sand. If there is grass plugs scattered, is it 100% imperative to dig it or kill it before laying the gravel and sand? Thank you!

    My favourite thing is the sandbox and play area for the kids. Is this at your mom and dads place? I don't recognize the are. And, isn't kind of too open of an area? I'd like to see more trees around it and plants
