  • In this NDSU Soil Health video Extension Soil Specialist, Dave Franzen talks about the historic soil losses in the Great Plains from the 1930s to today. Conservation efforts including tree rows as windbreaks and conservation tillage methods are used across the state to prevent erosion. However, many acres across the region are not managed using such practices and are just as vulnerable to soil erosion today as they were in the 1930's.
