Why is your hair so dark? You're a farmer. And married (I'm guessing). Who are you dying your hair to impress? The young girls? Yuck.
... seriously?
Lol what?
WTF lol
are we not allowed to dye our hair anymore? people do it all the time. Also some people cant stand gray hair. Also i guessing nobody is allowed to have dark hair anymore? Either way, i feel bad for the hoof gp because he has to deal with hooligans like you.
stroll troll...
Two days ago UA-cam recommended that I watch a video about a guy trimming some cow's hooves. I thought, "That's weird, a cow mani pedi." so I watched it. And here I am, two days later, still watching this guy deal with cow hooves. Why is this kind of thing interesting? Seriously, I don't understand why I'm oddly fascinated by watching a guy give cows a mani pedi.
... i don't understand the fascination either ... but yet here I am ... 9 years after trimming my first cow 😆😅
The Hoof GP does turpentine harden cow hoofs like it does horse hoofs?
Same
Ghmlyn Ujj lolook
That was we tonight! Haha I’m like 5 videos in now
Just as I finished watching this video, my 3yo daughter stepped on a lego that was on the floor causing her to bleed.... so I immediately:
1. Cleaned the bottom of her hoof with iodine/water solution
2. Slowly removed all of the loose horn
3. Decided not to put a block since it was in a non weight bearing area
4. Sprayed it with iodine
I will revisit her in about 1-2 weeks to reassess her foot and see how she's doing. She should have no problem going back to normal
Brilliant :)
Your daughter caused a lego to bleed?
🤣
@@justmeunicorn No . It was the floor that bled.
So satyrs are watching UA-cam?
Why did I legit think you were trimming an elephants foot?
Hannah I'm glad I wasn't the only one .Lol
🤣🤣🤣
I thought his reputation has spread and he's been Commissioned by a zoo. Still doesn't seem at all unreasonable. Anyone that has seen the vids can tell what a caring decent bloke his is so hardly a stretch of the imagination.
I was wondering what they were going to use for a Crush though! :0)
Me too 😂😂
Hannah Laxton me too lol 😂
I came across your videos by accident and needless to say I'm hooked on them. I love how this farmer cares about his cows. We had a cattle farm in Oklahoma 27 years ago and I truly loved everything about farming. I grew up on a dairy farm in Germany so farming is in my blood 😊.
What is happening to me? I’m binge watching this delightful fella. I love UA-cam.
I'm not a farmer, have no direct contact with farm animals, and yet I watch his videos a lot.
Same here 😂😂
Make that 4 of us LoL
I'm in there too. That glue must dry pretty quick.
Right there wit ya 🤣
The neat-freak in me would pressure wash the hooves clear of manure and debris so you have a clean operating field before you get started...
I keep thinking the same thing with every video.
Is it just me because I just want to bathe the cows 🤣
Fuck that I'll work in any situation 😂 it's only cow shit
SAME when he gets out the grinder or whatever I’m like oh my gosh it’s going to be so dirty LOL I love dirt and everything I just think about this every time he goes to sand it down or whatever LOL
@@thickgirlsneedlove2190 Nobody said they wouldn’t work in it they just said that they would be neat about it! I’m not saying that he is not need about it because he is but what their saying is that they would like to clean off the foot first and then do it
One thing good about your channel is that you actually teach how to identify the problems and show us your view of the best solution. Very nice channel, keep it up!
I love that he takes the time to explain the what and whys of his work. He should be an instructor!
I know! When I look at the new cow I'm like okay white line = good trim & block
The calves looked like they were having fun. Bouncing around like little nuts. LOL 😂
That’s how calf’s should be treated. It’s shows that obviously the cows can produce just fine that way. What a wonderful way to work a farm. Happy cows happy milk!!!
I was just thinking maybe that’s why the ice cream is so good... happy dairy cows, better milk?🤷🏼♀️
@@bayleighc.5843 more truth to that than you think. It's actually been proven that stressed cows produce sour milk. Happier cows, higher quality cow juice. Of course, most factory farms achieve the same thing with Copious amounts of drugs
@@ethanmurray5001 cow juice?? Best thing ive ever heard
Factory farms are fucking dens of evil!
I don't think there's such a thing as a "happy cow" because the cows still have to be pregnant to produce milk and the male babies get killed in 99% of situations (or sold somewhere else, but most likely for meat), so by buying milk you still support the meat industry and I honestly just don't want to be a part of that
"Due to work in 4-5 weeks"
Why do I love that line. I love when people give animals human like descriptions for jobs. Or this bulls job.
I was in Scotland in 2016 with two of my best friends (sadly one passed away in 2018) and we made kind of a roadtrip to visit the beautiful landscapes. It was one of the most beautiful trips I've ever had in my live - if not THE most beautiful!
So I absolutly love hearing the scotish accent and your videos of the landscapes.( Your love for your job and the animals are conveyed just perfect via internet btw).
I have so many wonderful pictures and videos from this trip but I still can't stand to watch them without crying for my friend.
I hope I get to visit your stunning country once more - and that I won't be crying at least all the time.
Thank you so much for your wonderful upcheering content and your loving personality!
I've been working on a dairy farm in the US this summer, and this video has inspired me to help the owner explore more ethical options for his business. Thanks, Hoof GP!
Good for you!!!!
There are a lot of benefits to the system on this farm, not least for the cow and calf welfare, it has advantages with calf health, growth rate and costs too. Bear in mind this is an organic farm and there is a large saving on calf feeding costs to balance against the loss of milk yield from keeping the calves at foot until they wean.
"If you are wondering, 'Did they really eat all eight tubs of ice cream?' Yes. Yes they did." You guys are hilarious! (Though your wives might wish you had saved some.). Here's hoping the bull with the pretty white heart and but bad feet is finally on the road to soundness. Good that your new crush made it possible to get at the problems in his hooves in a way you couldn't before. One more reason why getting this well-designed hydraulic crush was so important.
I really like that the farm advertises itself as an "ethical dairy" right on the ice cream tubs and that the calves are left with their mothers until they are weaned.
You live in a beautiful place. But you knew that. Thank you for this video. How you have the time and energy to make them is beyond me, but I'm glad you do.
I like that farm too and I could just tell that the ice cream is the creamiest and freshest heh, heh.
It would of melted before he got home 😉
Actually leaving the calves with their mothers could be considered unethical. The reason the calves are separated is that they can be injured or killed while milling with the full grown cows. You have to be extremely careful if you don't separate them and it is often better to separate them for their safety.
Plural wives??
Kinda sad it wasn’t an actual elephant. But the bull was cute though
True true I thought it was a elephant :3
Right! I was low key disappointed
Elephants don't have hooves
@@r.brandt2246
For real. Why do they think they would need that ? 😅🤣
@@r.brandt2246 I believe they do or at least a member of all hoofed animals. It may look different but cows look different to horses. Camels, hippos, giraffes as well as deer, sheep and goats do also of course. Please let me know if you check and find out I am wrong, thanks. These are not the only animals with hooves, just my quick list to show how different they can be to each other.
I can't tell you how much I love that the calves stay with their mommas. ❤
I can't help but think that if that big boy really wanted out of that crush, it wouldn't stand a chance.
I never knew bulls could be so gentle.
In this crush, probably wouldn't do too much harm, maybe? But in the old Wopa, im sure you're right
As a Black Angus rancher I can tell you that I've met more crazy cows than crazy bulls 😂
@@Person-ej8vd amen to that! It’s always the cows you gotta be careful around, especially in the chute
Yes, all animals can be gentle if they so wish. Bulls are not feral, out of control creatures, they’re just cattle.
it could trust me it could
I just found your channel and I’m completely taken by your kindness and compassion for the animals. It’s obvious that you love what you do! I just found my favorite UA-cam channel! ❤️
I can't get over the colosssal size of the bulls hoof. Great job again. I hope you and Dougie Boy split the ice cream 50/50. Judging by the look on your face it was really good.
Man, that cow limping was kind a hard to watch, hope she’s recovered.
This bull is a gentle giant. Even if he's uncomfortable he doesn't show it - he doesn't kick or anything. Does he have a name?

I love it when you trim a bull's hoof. They are beautiful creatures.
oh poor girl made me sad how she was walking hope she gets better asap xx
I ran across your videos by accident but found them interesting. My family is from Scotland. Even though my ancestors came on Mayflower with Columbus, and others trickled in over the years, our family has always passed down facts about our Scottish heritage. In America I live in Missouri and grew up on a cattle ranch. I never Remember my dad trimming cattle hooves but he did cut over grown ones. We had a horse or pony that foundered on dog food and had to trim hooves --was awful. If a cow got lame the vet was called. But not many ever limped or had trouble as I would go with my dad to check cows in pick up or horseback. But that about 55 years ago. I believe what you are doing is so great. You seem to love your work and I find it wonderful that this is available now. Thank you
My family is also Scottish on my dads side. PA Dutch on my moms. But Scotland is on my bucket list to visit. Looks gorgeous.
The aerial view of the farm in the end was absolutely breathtaking.
I like that the calves are allowed to stay with their mum’s. That is totally natural. Makes mum happy and me!❤❤❤❤😂🎉
Beautiful footage at the end! It was much needed at this time of chaos, a reminder that kindness is still alive, TY from NY 🙏
Hi from former NY state here!
Indeedy. Makes me very homesick, as cant travel back to family due to lockdown!
I love the idea that they keep the calves with mom for 6 months. :)
Agreed. My favorite grass-fed, organic lovely dairy here in the states does too - they have a customer forever!
That is knormalu
My most favorite part of Watching the hoof GP is the lovely country n western song that plays in videos from start to end. You go GP, the best in the whole world n back 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲💯❤️its lit 🔥🔥🔥
I never get tired of seeing how beautiful your countryside is.
If I ever go to Scotland, you have to show me where I can find that farm. You ate four cups of icecream, must be very good 😃
Scotland is one of my favorite destinations I’ve ever visited. So calming. Hope you get to go!
I've been to England and Scotland. The people of Scotland were very kind to us. I wish I had found an angel for my collection. The rock walls are so pretty!
Looks like it’s in Castle Douglas. Beautiful area. www.creamogalloway.co.uk
I tried watching other channels that trim animals feet and I really haven't seen any of them that care as much as you do about what they do the animals they work on it's really inspiring and I just want to thank you keep up the great work
The ice cream tastes so good because happy cows get to have their babies with them ❤️. Bulls hooves are massive!!!!
You're helping animals, you love what you do, you get to enjoy the great outdoors and share your adventures with the world, what more could one ask for? Blessings to you and yours, and of course to the four legged ones too. 😄🐄🌻💕
These cows look so happy and healthy! Brought a smile to my face
I love that they keep the calves there with the mothers, they are so cute playing together!
Same they are sooooooooooooooo cute playing together!
Husband: Get ready - we're going to be late!
Me: Hold on - he's almost done with this bull's hooves 😏
Good to hear the calfs are let to stay for 6 months with their mothers - that is a kindness to both mother and calf in what will be such a cruel life.
Yup this farm rocks! Love it. Would really love to study this farms system! I bet a ton of people would.
Just watched a whole bunch of your vids and when i got to 'Did they just eat all 8 tubs of ice cream? Yes, yes we did' it made me smash that sub button 🤣

Poor bull. What impressed me with you as the trimmer and the farm owner/hand was how gentle and kind with them. Well done all around👋👍👍👍🐂🦋🌺🍀🇦🇺🥰
I LOVE THIS FARM! The calfs and how the bull himself is well natured and stays with his ladies. He's a happy boy who's making happy calfs. Wonderful, there is milk enough for all!
What a lovely farm. I`m impressed that they are so empathetic to their calves.
I love seeing the drone footage…the scenery you share with us is absolutely stunning.
Scotland is so beautiful. You folks are lucky to live in such an amazing place! Some day I'll leave the little Pennsylvania town, called Meadville, I live in and venture over to see that beautiful countryside in Scotland!
Your machine you have for restraining and holding the hooves in place is so handy! Love seeing you help the cows out, your a good man 👌
I love what you do for these amazing animals. You're literally a miracle for these hurt, beautiful creatures
The lower camera angle really showed what a massive, beautiful animal that bull is.
I love to see the calves so happy with their mamas! And that bull is a gorgeous boy! ❤️🐮
Here I am, up in the night watching THGP again…lol! Graeme and Craigy boy calming my mind again. Thanks!
These cows just look happier and cleaner than a lot of the other cows we see. It has to be the way they are kept. The barn seems nicer, too. The calves sure were happy :)
It's sad because we don't get that ice cream in the middle of OHIO! Lolol
Making iced cream is easy. Make your own. It's much more superior.
Central Ohio has graeter ice cream than any other! 😉

We love it. One request could you please post the titles of the music and names of the artists who perform them. Your choices are lovely and I’d like to add them to a play list. Also where can I find your book for purchasing. Thank you and keep up the great work ❤

I enjoy your talent as much as I do that Scottish accent. You are positive and a pleasure to watch. 👏😸✌️🐾🐾🇱🇷
I'm not even sure how I got to these vids.... but they are strangely satisfying to watch. My new addiction 😆
I’ve been stuck on your videos for hours now. This is so fascinating and I have no idea why. Thank you for sharing and helping all these sweet animals! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so gladd the calves get to stay with the mommies until weened. yay
Did we eat all 8 tubs of ice cream? Why yes, yes we did. Good to know I have a kindred spirit across the globe. ☺️
At about time index 2:25 the cow on the left side of the screen.
Watch her left, rear leg. She makes an outside sweeping motion when stepping forward. Does this mean anything?
Could have a thrown out hip or a sore hip from the cows riding each other, possibly running might have caused it to be sore and make her wanna kick it out
Maybe she pulled a muscle.. though i do know some animals just walk funny.. she could also have a knee issue cuz when you see she isn’t bending it but making it swing
Not me upset about them enjoying ice cream that would just melt. Lol jealous yes! Of that lovely countryside!
Happy Friday! Oh Technically it's Saturday over there.
Absolutely love your video's. The love and attention you give every single cow and your positive attitude are amazing to watch. Keep up the good work ♡

Would scoring the claw, prior to attaching the pad, help it to stay on longer?
These cows are so well fed they're round, I love that 😍
When you have a giant bull could you put your hand near it so we can see how big they are?
Put his hand by what on the bull lol haha
I can’t believe the bull was walking on those hoofs. Great job HGP!
@3:53 Welcome to the gun show.
So beautiful there!
Those little baby cows and their mamas are so happy compared to the other farms. You can literally just tell. And those babies hopping around freely says it all. Cows have a hard enough life as it is. Allowing mamas to be with their babies is like the bare minimum everyone should do to ensure at least a bit of happiness in their lives.
That’s one handsome bull. He looks well taken care of!
Was really happy to hear about the whole calves not being separated from their moms. Definitely a farm that'd be a dream job for me, but there probably aren't many such farms in my country so I can only dream
I just love watching you work. Your country looks spectacular. 💖
I wonder why he doesnt hose the down first? Cow poo all on his tools....
I'm saying like have the decency to wash the ass of the cow that much itch
@@benjaminwachlin3023 ikr its so sad seeing they live covered in poop :/
@@roosje2069 They spend most of their time on the fields. I''m pretty sure he mentioned that in another video. They've just been brought inside for trimming or other various reasons.
Any ice cream with shortbread sounds good! Only thing better than your last video is the new video! Awesome awesome awesome!
I just love the music that you pick for this video. And the scenery is just breath- taking always wanted to visit your part of the world, but can't anymore. Thank you so much!!
The floor, the grime, the cows covered in their own poo. Idk it just makes me sad and makes me wonder if that’s what makes them go lame and have bad hooves.
Couldn't have anything to do with them weighing a thousand pounds or more, could it? I mean it's not like human extremities wear out and need some help every once in a while or anything...
@@lorzon I mean obviously that would take a toll on them as well, but the conditions of their environment definitely accelerates that wear down process
@@lorzon Cows get covered in their own poo no matter where you put them. Bull's also purposefully clamp their tail down and rapidly move it from side to side while they poo in order to spread it all over their butt.
@@lorzon Facts
Cows will naturally cover themselves in their own feces, what's making them go lame is the fact that they are 1,000+lb creatures that walk on hard surface. In natural pastures the ground gives under the weight of the cow slightly, in the same way that a shoe insole would. Also instead of a normal foot, cow hooves are made of extremely dense keratin much like a toenail, and I can assure you that these cows are getting better medical care than most people are.
The caves getting to stay with their mums, makes me so happy :)
I like this farm. First, ice cream, what's not to like? And I'll bet that shortbread ice cream is incredible! Second, I like the fact they keep the calves with the cows for a while. Your bull buddy would scare the crap out of me, but he seems rather chill, and all about the ladies, as you say.
The way they walked with the lady cow 😢❤❤❤
Of course ya'll ate the ice cream. Can't let it melt. And besides, you earned it. Really nice job.
