it's kinda crazy how much some influencers are pushing rem since product demos show that it's largely hard to work with and not pigmented for the purpose
I love Ariana Grande, but im also 32 and have been disabled/on disability almost my entire adult life, so ya girl *does not* have money to throw away. I can count on one hand how many makeup products I've bought in the last year(other than mascara& lip gloss) because at this point, my collection is so large, I can dupe the majority of products that come out. Also, I don't use foundation anymore, just the tiniest bit(one, two dots max) of concealer, the Rare Beauty bronzing stick, an LYS cream blush, the Dior Powder no powder, then I put a little of the bronzer and blush in my crease, and put a duochrome from Adept Cosmetics on my lid and/or in the inner corner. So I just don't need the full coverage, crazy lewk items anymore
I think the hardest part is making the products name. I bet they spend at least an hour in the idea room deciding the names for every shade so you gotta give that to them! 😙
I just found your channel about a week ago and I am hooked. You are so talented and funny! You keep it real. No drama. Just the facts. I appreciate that. I have also learned a lot from you. Thank you so much and I look forward to all of your future content!!!!!!!!
Only celebrity brand I really like is Fenty.. it was actually my son who 1st got me a cream plush gloss bomb set on mother's day in a peach .. best lip gloss love the blush ... Then I found fenty highlighter at TJ Maxx... So now I'm loving everything she makes.
I love how ariana is rich and you know only uses the best most high end makeup. But sells trash makeup for $20 and more a piece. And she knows that the fans will attack someone for telling the truth about the trash products and there's also others who will lie to others for PR or sponsorship just bc she's Ariana. All these celebs know. People if you spend money on makeup buy it from a brand of a real makeup artist not a pop star who don't know what they are doing.
I am a big Ariana Grande fan but, just like you, i can see why you don't really like it.. i don't really like anything else than the regular lipsticks becauae the other textures are just... not it... i think she is amazing as a person and a singer... but not as a makeup creator... that or she just really needs to work on the formulas and the colours of the lip oils for example, it really isn't very pigmented for the lavender kiss and mint ones... yeah.. I'm kinda disappointed haha
Very little bothers me more than less product for more money- and that lipstick just doesn't look like the same amount as a regular bullet from lije covergirl etc! But then again I learned with the Shane Dawson lip balm that what it says it contains and what it actually contains are 2 different things! All of mine from them were short! I learned through research that some companies include the amount that is tucked inside the anchor point of the component in their total weight (despite the fact that you'd have to dig it out to actually use it!) and others only count the amount that is above the surface and usable. My Diet Shane glosses were quite light compared to advertised weight even when completely removed from the component. I had several of them arrive already out of the base and weighed them out of curiosity.
the honesty and TRANSPARENCY here makes me SO HAPPY to be SUBSCRIBED to you. thank you for giving NOTHING but HONESTY and SHOWING US the TRUTH of it all!
coming from an ariana fan, ima have to agree with you. she lacks passion when it comes to make up. the cheek and lip stick is the only thing i like as well but other than that, nothing else is a game changer.

$14 for "lip oil" (lip balm)?! Yeah, I'll stick w my Carmex, thanks!!😂 ETA- WTF, $18 for lipliner?!?!! I'm going to have an aneurysm by the time this vid is over!!👀 Am I crazy? Are these normal non-drugstore makeup prices?! Who is paying these prices for these things, and why, when they can be bought for so much cheaper?? I don't get it.
The only things I’ve loved from them were the mousse-y eyeshadow + the purple sparkly plumping gloss. The highlighter felt like one from a Revolution palette + the liquid eyeshadow was pretty but crusty looking? I don’t hate anything I’ve tried, but it doesn’t seem to be a brand that has a point. Fenty is great at skin, lips, + innovating. Rare is for natural makeup. Huda is always playing w/ different eyeshadow textures + I think has more glam face products. What’s REM about? Besides making money?
rare beauty also had the same feedback when it was first released, so i think we have to wait for rem to release more products. as a selena stan, i remember the slander with rare beauty for its products until the blush, powder, and tinted moisturiser saved it
@@selenator3855 this is so true but honestly with rem if she doesnt bring it with the concealer, foundation, etc. there is no going back. shes gotta be innovative, if she doesnt wanna be and this is just a side hustle then thats fine lol i have no problem with that. as a huge ariana fan, she seems way more passionate abt her music, acting, & fragrances
I absolutely love an honest person. Sorry not sorry but celebrities absolutely slap their name on products that they have no background in and you are the only person to speak up.🖤
I think everything about REM is so awkward. The idea behind it could be so cool like Jane Cosmetics was, or a 90s vibe but reinvented. But the product doesn't match the packaging. Ariana seems so awkward in her PR videos and the disconnect makes me not want to try it. The products I swatched don't make me feel any type of way. Maybe it'll get better but right now it's a huge waste of time and money.
i find the packaging and swatches of the eyeshadows especially so bizarre!!! it all looks so mismatched and like no thought has gone into it in my opinion

Hello Johnny I got my first ever lip shine, it smells good and it has sparkles but not too much. I also got a mascara and a brow pen, thanks to your videos I know lots about make up but this is my beginning pack 😊 I also made myself a nice skin care kit too I’m so excited
Like your honest review. Thanks for that. I like the background sound a lot, but you talking its a bit too loud and irritating to me.. but maybe this is only me.
I loved this review, like someone else said I'm not a make-up person as such, but I love your vids (the "this is what it's like to work at Sephora make me laugh") and it's interesting to see what make-up packs are out there.
It can be used as a base for lipstick as liner tends to last a little longer than lipstick so if the lipstick begins to wear off you have a bit of colour left for longer.
Thank f*CK I've finally found someone who is HONEST!! It seems every other influencer is afraid of being kicked off rems pr list, and is constantly bullshitting us. DONT EVER CHANGE!!
I really appreciate these reviews. I purchased some chapter 3 highlighter in Miss Neptune and then some... gloss? But it was really underwhelming- I will ask for maybe some close ups of the product on your face? Especially the glosses.
Lol this is why I stick with e.l.f. for 99% of my makeup. Their power grip primer is like, the holy grail. Their prices are lower than drugstore and the quality is pretty freaking good. I have purchased from Morphe, Too Faced, and a couple other popular, expensive (I'm a broke bitch) brands and I just was not very impressed. Especially with the Morphe eyeshadow pallette that I bought, they look so gorgeous in the package but don't show up on the skin very well. Not good for a bright rainbow pallette! At least the little makeup brush pouch is cute 😂 TL;DR I wish these companies would focus more on QUALITY than profit and name.

voted best celebrity makeup brand for a reason.
OMG why for a second i thought he was James Charles
I just found your channel about a week ago and I am hooked. You are so talented and funny! You keep it real. No drama. Just the facts. I appreciate that. I have also learned a lot from you. Thank you so much and I look forward to all of your future content!!!!!!!!
Excellent review. He is such a pro
Psst! Johnny, the MAC playlist is missing #5 😭
Only celebrity brand I really like is Fenty.. it was actually my son who 1st got me a cream plush gloss bomb set on mother's day in a peach .. best lip gloss love the blush ... Then I found fenty highlighter at TJ Maxx... So now I'm loving everything she makes.
Appreciate the honesty here. Can you do a video on the Rare Beauty Line by Selena Gomez?
“Yicks” 💀
the honesty and TRANSPARENCY here makes me SO HAPPY to be SUBSCRIBED to you.
thank you for giving NOTHING but HONESTY and SHOWING US the TRUTH of it all!
Yes keep the realness for Ariana, I swear yall arianator makeup guru youtubers are so honest on r.e.m beauty
Thank you for your honest opinions! Sending love and hugs. ❤️❤️❤️
coming from an ariana fan, ima have to agree with you. she lacks passion when it comes to make up. the cheek and lip stick is the only thing i like as well but other than that, nothing else is a game changer.
I just have to say that DAMN hun you've got to be the sexiest man with and without makeup, it must be true what they say " The most gorgeous men are either married or gay." I just can't stop watching you, and on top of that, you are truly extremely talented and have actually taught me things about that that other beauty gurus haven't been as clear, precise and esp simplified with their advice on makeup. I can watch you on repeat daily n never get bored n doing so makes it easier to learn quickly all the tricks of your trade so thank you so much for sharing your craft n passions! 🙏🙋♀️✌💙💚💜😍
I had a crush on someone once, and then they figured out that they were gay. Good for him, but **why do I like them too pretty** !? 🥲🫠😭
$14 for "lip oil" (lip balm)?! Yeah, I'll stick w my Carmex, thanks!!😂
ETA- WTF, $18 for lipliner?!?!! I'm going to have an aneurysm by the time this vid is over!!👀 Am I crazy? Are these normal non-drugstore makeup prices?! Who is paying these prices for these things, and why, when they can be bought for so much cheaper?? I don't get it.
It’s in the middle when it comes to price range. It’s not affordable but not expensive 🤷🏻♀️
$18 for non drugstore lipliners is actually in the cheaper side
Btw just to tell you I think on the bottom of the lip liner there is a little sharpener.
Thanks for an honest appraisal of the product. Nothing is more annoying than paying a higher price and finding out it is something you can't use.
I find that collab/ celeb beauty lines are just meh.
It's really giving drugstore quality for name brand price, huh?
I have always watched your funny shorts and this is the first product review I watched. You are instantly a favorite! The way you explain why you like/dislike a product really speaks to me, and thank you for the honesty!
As you started to apply the last lipliner, I thought, "terrible lipliner, but great as a pencil-thin mustache!" Love your content!
Apparently there is a sharper inside the base of the liners...but that won’t make it softer just pointy-Errrr.
I’m not a makeup expert but aren’t lip liners supposed to only outline the lips? I’ve never applied mine all over like this. Just curious.
I was wondering this as well 🤔
It can be used as a base for lipstick as liner tends to last a little longer than lipstick so if the lipstick begins to wear off you have a bit of colour left for longer.
Thank you so much for an honest review.
I am on the fence about matte lipsticks 💄. Great for under the mask 😷 🌎, but like you I have drag, and waxy issues with applications...
Thanks for always keeping it real! You're the only person that I will actually buy products that you recommend!
I just hit another vehicle with my car…minor damage, but your videos make my stress go away thank you.
hope you’re ok!!!
Thank f*CK I've finally found someone who is HONEST!! It seems every other influencer is afraid of being kicked off rems pr list, and is constantly bullshitting us. DONT EVER CHANGE!!
the lipliner has a sharpener on the end tho
Good Morning Johnny Ross--always lovin' your videos💙
Please! Do more UA-cam videos 😢🙏 your makeup in the Sephora series is FLAWLESS
Wow...what a terrific review! I am enjoying your channel Johnny.
Johnny, your review was excellent and I love how you do the same lip pose so we can compare! LMAO! You know how to do your faces! LMAO!
Did we expect anything better from rebranded Morphe products?
I want Trevor!!!!!!!
I saw the honesty and subscribed you 👍😄
i just like it bc the packaging
You are going to be approached for a calab for u own makeup line
For sticky liquid lipsticks I use a translucent setting powder to matte it down
He woth sooo nervous as he should 👄
It's never a good thing to be hard pressed 🙃
Can u Do a review on rare beauty
At least the little makeup brush pouch is cute 😂 TL;DR I wish these companies would focus more on QUALITY than profit and name.
the lip liner has a built-in sharpener
I see your point Johnny. The higher price point pays for the celebrity endorsements, not a better quality product. Live and learn. Thanks for review.
