HK should sell a wireless Subwoofer to complement the Studios, It would be nice with the same shape which is very efficient for bass and cancels unwanted reflections, also good structurally
Hi, i have two hk onyx studio 4, and I would like to connect them to a Subwoofer, i'm really ignorante in this field, and i'm wondering if i can make it with , for example, a Mackie CR8S-XBT or any other similar... thanks
I'm guessing you simple did a Y connector to the high-outs in the Harman? Kinda smart. Would it work with a High-in on a subwoofer with said parts? That way you wouldn't need the converter.
I have a Harmon Kardon Onyx 2 on it it’s 4-5 live.. legs broke off.. I mean cosmetically it’s fine.. looks great but once the legs go She’s just mot the same.. I have a Bose theater.. I want to connect to it..?
It works well to do this, I've done this before wuite a few times. Your audio sounds pretty nive the, especially with it being recorded by a phone. I use digital technology as well where I install an active crossover so you cam actually change the frequency coming out of the jack to make it compatible with virtualy any sub, nive work though. Olus I custom built my own loc (line output converter). More complex but you know what you're really getting.

Antonio Simeone It just boost low frequency at higher volumes, but Studio 3 will shut off by itself cause it requires a lot of power, and if it is possible to work at higher volumes, it can kill the amp/speaker drivers
I've got two of them and they do sound great together. The added sub adds a whole nother level though. I'm going to put a sub output on my other one too.
This will not work on Onyx 4, HK made the front grill not-removable. Terrible, can't replace the battery in the future as well. I took the rubber piece that goes around the edge off exposing switches, still everything is shut. How in the world will they service these inside?
marcin97 ahahaha thats what i thought in the beginning, it will come off if you use coins to hold it and have some patience, it is just more tight sealed than the other onyx studio speakers. Hope you could see mine its beautiful. You just take the grill off not the rubber surround Edit: you start only from the bottom
the Harman kardon onyx studio 3 only plays down to 50hz but when the Bluetooth and volume down button are pressed together until the power light turns red it can play down to 10hz
this needs to happen each time the device is turned on and to turn the feature off but as of now it is not recommended as it can damage the amp and the drivers, finally at the lower volumes it makes the speaker sound like a cheap speaker

I tested extensively 2 vs 4 today at home and 2 sounds cleaner. Not keeping 4 as the fron grill cannot be removed at all. Can't take it apart.
