Couple of things. A lot of people are saying "for that cost just go private". Well, for one, private jets are typically very small and have to make frequent fuel stops. Time is money, so obviously people would prefer a large plane that can take them anywhere nonstop. Also, they are driven to the airport in a luxury car. It's actually more luxurious than a small private plane could ever be. And I'm seeing a lot of negativity. There's nothing wrong with wanting to experience the best in the world. I think it's best to avoid criticism, because it doesn't make you look cool, it makes you look bitter and jealous. I know I probably won't get to experience this, but I'm still able to admit that it would be awesome. All of you know if you came into money, you would be the first to reserve a suite. Stop lying to yourselves. Denial isn't healthy.
Amen to that! And like you've mentioned, you're driven to the airport, and it doesn't stop there! The lounges and various services and amenities offered are out of this world. It's definitely not bad to dream and want sometimes. I've recently flown on Singapore's business class from LAX to Tokyo and it's definitely not Etihad first class but it sure beat sitting in the back!
juniyananajukyu Absolutely. The gulf carriers offer luxury beyond anything in air travel history. Also, I think a lot of people making these comments haven't flown long haul before. I've flown overseas a lot and when I'm cramped in economy I feel awful when I arrive. I've upgraded at times and it's so much better for your health.
+Justin Hopkins yes, once again I agree with you, that a lot the folks commenting probably never been on flights 10plus hrs. And there are a lot of business travelers that are upgraded because of loyalty program status or through points and mileage. Have you flown with Etihad? I hear that their economy class is also an outstanding product. Happy and safe travels!
Ur right every plane ride home so far 4 planes the last year one was the worst i had a headache before taking off all u heard was aaaaaagfggh wwwwaaaa and then it started his brother off aafghhwaaafgwafaag i wish i could say go to ur children and tell them to shutup!

+Pastor Kim Rapczak Depends on what kind of economy class it is, a huge difference than a Ryan Air economy class but economy class of Etihad, Emirates or Qatar Airways isn't that bad actually.
This is a good thing for people with private jets. $21K is cheaper than flying a Gulfstream between Sydney to London with 2-3 fuel stops. And you don't have to worry about all the paperwork that comes with a private jet.
I don't see it as much point to have it from london to abi dhbai as the first route for the A380, because its only like 5-6 hours of flight.... why can't they have it with flight over 10hr or more
not a chance. its a matter of luck. right man, in right body, in right mind, at right place, in right time, to make fortune, lower than 1 percent chance.
Singapore Airlines has a first class suite with a door that closes, offering real privacy, and their flight is only around $4000 USD. I didn't see a door to the residence on Etihad...
Wealthy people are typically in a hurry and don't have time to rent a tiny jet that has to make frequent refueling stops. Why would they choose a tiny jet over a large one that can take hem anywhere in the world nonstop?
This is aimed at wealthy users of Private and business jets, Most private jets are quite small so this cabin is probably even more luxurious and comfortable for a fraction of the cost of private Jet hire, but you do not have to be super rich, i think if i had only one million pounds I would gladly pay for this cabin
Well, if you let 100 people from economy to the residence. The residence will be worst than cattle class. Imagine sharing that bed with 100 people and 100 people taking a dump in that toilet. Not to mention 100 people will take shower as well.
Hiring a private jet is 60k with 10 people if you hire one straight from the country you are in thats way cheaper i think a private jet is still way better since you can fly every where

Besides if they can rip off scumbags who have plenty of money to spend on travelling, kudos to them
I feel like doing this when I fly to Missouri in the U.S. From Perth in Western Australia just so I can have my own room cause I hate sitting with people
A large rigid airship can provide far more comfortable and serene accommodations for less. Sure it'll take a lot longer, use far less av-fuel, but do so at a leisurely and sedate 70 knots at a breathtaking 3500 feet of altitude. You can open a window for some ventilation and not have to shout above the roar of air flying past the fuselage at over 490 knots. Oh, and your "apartment" will be a private (totally private) cabin with it's own private bathroom and shower. No half height walls to peer over.
This is just over the top yet extremely cool. I personally can't justify spending $21,000USD on 15 hours of luxury, but good on those people who can. Because when you think about it if you're making $1m a year, 21k is the equivalent 1k to normal people earning 60k a year (economy class).
Its gotta be interesting when you wake up under your blankey in your pijamas, realizing the plane is going down...(last thoughts before crash) ''Should I put my slippers on or?''
Usually who ever buy such service is corporate sponsored or a VIP celebrity who can write it off their taxes as an expense. It is very rare that someone will pay this amount out of pocket unless they are extremely rich. For me, I would always go private!
I always seat belt-ed all the time when I fly. Even a short trip to toilet is like a journey that I have to finish as quick as possible and return seats asap to get seat belted again. No matter how sleepy I am, I will never be able to sleep on plane. I can not stop thinking of the causes of all plane bumps and turbulences. Does flying in luxury like this makes one who fears flying, forget about it all ? Will I be able to sleep in that comfy bed? Do I get seat-belted while sleeping on the bed?
+TheWorldOfJames (iamjamesj) Between those 100.000 flights per day, who knows you could be the 1 that crashes? Those who crashed are a completely random event, without any warning nor any signs, and most important you will die horribly, tragically, experiencing unbelievable frightening zero-gravity force that you have to endure for 3-5 minutes before your death. Maybe 1-2 mins if the original altitude is not very high. It is like, riding FASTEST rollercoaster, only difference is this one brings you to death! You will lose all your wealth and your families in a matter of minutes. I'd rather die old in peace!
+CGagnon5 I don't know much about the industry, but for large flights (as he described) being 10-15+ hours, having a private jet wouldn't be warranted. If the flight is rare enough, 21k seems to be the best option for those who can afford it.
Yeah I have no idea how much they coast either. 21,000 just sounds crazy for a flight. I'm sure I can find a pilot somewhere to fly me 15 hours for less than that
Maybe. Here's an amazing article I read a while back on a similar cabin that's definitely worth a look. Let me know what you think! dereklow.co/what-its-like-to-fly-the-23000-singapore-airlines-suites-class/
Is first class and residence really that worth it even a 16 hour flight I feel like buissness is good if you are quite open to spend the money but not that much.
50% Occupancy to 'wash our feet and your face' seems an impressive rate indeed. If so, I am rather surprised that main rivals (Emirates, Qatar Airways, and to lesser extents British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, Qantas, and Singapore Airways) did not come to similar conclusions regarding costs and uses of space. While EY's route networks are crucial in connecting passengers through Abu Dhabi - in at least 90% of cases, at least one of those legs is going to be less than 6 hours long (where the full use of the cabin cannot be used), thus it will be relegated to long-haul (i.e. to North America, Eastern Asia, Australia, and Western Europe) where it is a valuably provided asset. Carriers like Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France and even Singapore Airways - due to geographic locations will have greater stage lengths for connecting passengers in many cases (compared to their Gulf counterparts) and yet they do not see the value in the "Business Jet Lite" concept. Emirates, down the road - and the World's largest A380 operator - also has done no such thing. I guess that I am confused - who is the market here? Who are you going to skim off of - the ones wishing to defect from other carriers? The ones who might have otherwise flown private (Entertainment? Royalty? VVIP and the very Rich)? Now, it is a fine use of space - using what would have otherwise been a bathroom used for other passengers in that cabin - plus including what was some dead space and perhaps place for one additional "First Class" suite - all in all, not a bad prospect on revenues for the 'used' space. I wish them the best - and hope that people do enjoy the experience, coming out of it feeing as if it were a valuable prospect for them.
+Sukhrajah Very good insight. Only time will tell how profitable this will be in the long run. I've read that a lot of gulf airlines aren't really profitable and depend a lot on government subsidies. You have to admit, it's insanely impressive.
+Jorge And therein lies the strength of those 'rumors' unimaginably fast and caring growth, reportedly low operating costs, massive Government investment to support the carriers themselves and then there is the issue of subsidies to compel that level of growth. Sure, geographical advantage aside, we are speaking of carriers carrying many times the populations of the nation they reside in (per quarter) and the majority of those are connecting. I will not definitively state that it is so, as I do not have concrete proof to base the statement before you - but increasingly, it is becoming the more and more logical that the answer for the miracles that we have seem performed, has been subsidized. Surely, profitability is a concern, but not a pressing one at present. With assistance, that matter can be delayed in favor of aggressively gaining market share from other carriers on the route. I will not say that the carrier are not now, now will they never be profitable, it simply would not surprise me if it is not as much as a concern as it is for others in the industry.
It's just a temporary luxury but would love to try it once in a lifetime.

+Justin Hopkins You are exactly right.
😍 I don't care how much it is!!! It beats sitting in front of a sugary toddler and other airline stereotypes.
Ur right every plane ride home so far 4 planes the last year one was the worst i had a headache before taking off all u heard was aaaaaagfggh wwwwaaaa and then it started his brother off aafghhwaaafgwafaag i wish i could say go to ur children and tell them to shutup!
+Mason Kyler I have to wonder if airlines are ever going to offer adult only flights. It would be nice
+Matthew B I to be honest would say to not let small children on some planes especially long haul I think it should be 7+ to go on a plane cause I was 8 when I did and didn't cry once! I just think smaller kids go on cruises for free 7+ while big kids get took by plane but 1 adult each way

I rather sit uncomfortablely for 10, 15 hours for $1,000 and pocket that whole $20,000 to spent on my trip.
Damn I flew in economy class and thought that was really cool considering there was a tv. This is next level.
Rupert Montoya Actually----it is an INFINITE number of levels from "economy class."
+Pastor Kim Rapczak Depends on what kind of economy class it is, a huge difference than a Ryan Air economy class but economy class of Etihad, Emirates or Qatar Airways isn't that bad actually.
+Tyger Voods I have never been so uncomfortable for 2 hours, thanks Ryan Air for that crazy experience. haha
the price of this ticket is what I paid for my brand new car for which I had to finance for five years. Must be nice
Pick one, a brand new car or a one way airline ticket?
That's expensive and stupid plan. 25k for 5 years for a car? are you nuts?
I rode this and I will tell you it's was amazing! It was more amazing because I didn't pay for it. My company did!
DAMN LUCKY
Irwin Wins are you working for Etihad? coz what kind of company will pay for this?
***** Companies buy their executives a lot when going to meetings.
Well, sure beats the hell out of joining the mile-high club in the lavatory.
BTW, that lady is obnoxious.
True
I love the womans personality. I can sit n the cheap seats with the peseants save myself $19,500 for a great hotel stay thats even more roomy
Excuse me Sir, would you like some Grey Poupon?
Steven Chambers lol i love that women. She's awesome!
TdotSoul But of course!
+Steven Chambers If you are a multimillionaire maybe you don't care about saving 19,500$ and just want to spent all your money!! I know I woud
A few hours of pleasure for a price of a car - the people who could afford the price can probably charter or buy their own jet
If the plane crashes, can I get a refund?
Lol
Hahahaha, nice one

+Samuel Ng Even if you could survive holding your breath you'll probably die from the cold.

I don't see it as much point to have it from london to abi dhbai as the first route for the A380, because its only like 5-6 hours of flight.... why can't they have it with flight over 10hr or more
I was thinking that too. If I was on a 10+ hour flight this would be perfect, but if it's just 5-6 hours, business class would be fine.
just, lovely!!!....Please pass the Grey Puppon !!!. Tah tah !!!

Now if American Airliners where this luxurious and awesome!
So I can either have this or a new car. So difficult to decide lol
Well the people that can afford this don't have to decide between a car and first class because they can buy both.
OMG this looks AMAZING!
The smiles at the end say hey coach flyers stick it you know where. Only us rich folks deserve this.
Singapore Airlines has a first class suite with a door that closes, offering real privacy, and their flight is only around $4000 USD. I didn't see a door to the residence on Etihad...

What I don't like about long hours flying? (Anything above 4hrs)
I wish there is a freaking smoking cabin or space...
+Ian Terrance do it in the toilet, no one will know
+nepali hercules They have smoke-detectors in the bathrooms.
***** I have Vape... Do you think it's ok?
+Ian Terrance I vape, too. You cannot vape on planes either. They now specifically say that after they say no smoking.
***** I don't think that's the point. You are not allowed to vape on the plane, detected or not.
quite cheap compare to a private jet
So I have a question. Does the butler sit at all in the cabin or does he/she only ever stand in the same spot until needed?
He Stands outside of the apartment.
+CharlieGGaming Gouldburn For 10 hours?
+Tyger Voods Yes, obviously.
kris jenner got new job
If I had that much money to spend on a flight I would a little more for a private jet

Emmy Gerard oh geez
Wealthy people are typically in a hurry and don't have time to rent a tiny jet that has to make frequent refueling stops. Why would they choose a tiny jet over a large one that can take hem anywhere in the world nonstop?
+Screenfreak Productions private jets that can do transatlantic can cost upwards of 16,000 dollars per hour, for 10 hours that's 160,000. lol
private jets are smaller, therefore they are louder also they will need more fuel stops. Sounds annoying, right?
OMG. This is so cool. Love it. Want to be in it.
I'm jealous on every person who flied by this.
This is aimed at wealthy users of Private and business jets, Most private jets are quite small so this cabin is probably even more luxurious and comfortable for a fraction of the cost of private Jet hire, but you do not have to be super rich, i think if i had only one million pounds I would gladly pay for this cabin
50% Occupancy to break even ?? Why not let people in Cattle class get a free upgrade to fill the other 50% ! Its only fair : )
Well, if you let 100 people from economy to the residence. The residence will be worst than cattle class. Imagine sharing that bed with 100 people and 100 people taking a dump in that toilet. Not to mention 100 people will take shower as well.
Well we can only try - Lol
Sorry. Get used to it.
bambang303378 The residence is exclusive to person who books it so no one else can share it.
"Duh"
damn Santa you better come this xmas.
Hiring a private jet is 60k with 10 people if you hire one straight from the country you are in thats way cheaper i think a private jet is still way better since you can fly every where
Say do they have elevators on these planes?
Nathan Andrew Davis doubt it
Nathan Andrew Davis No, there is one staircase
That is so expensive it would be my your entire holiday 😂😂😂😂 no complaining tho
Hey guys its calledbBusiness for some reason. They need to inovate air travel, they wouldnt splurge with the design features, if there wasnt a demand for it. kids in Africa could've been eating that plane
I don't know which country you're from but in my country we don't eat planes. Kudos for your strong teeth though.
Beni Hotoi lmao
Typical transatlantic flight in 1st class is around $21,000 with Singapore Airlines or Lufthansa, I believe this one would be well over that...
I have terrible anxiety flying but if I could have this luxury I'm sure I would have no issue. Only if I had the money.
gfunkonthecheesetree yeah I heard of that too - money cures all the anxieties indeed
Ok some xanax and the cheap seats
It's worth every penny
how does it make sense to charge 21000? i dont think luxury hotels even charge that much
Its gotta be interesting when you wake up under your blankey in your pijamas, realizing the plane is going down...(last thoughts before crash) ''Should I put my slippers on or?''
I head a story of some woman waking up to her house being on fire, her first thought was to put on a bra -.-
for 21g's I will not only take the kitchenware , I will take the bed , tv , chairs , plane engines , tires .....
$21,000 you can rent a private jet.
+David Koslin Not for the distances they're talking about. For a 10 hour flight on a private jet you're talking about well over $100,000.

and if the plane crashes, we all will die at the same time as well.

Oh, do come join me!
I want to fly
I'm rich so I travel first class every time I fly
$21000 for 15 hours, max? It's not like first class is slumming it--why not just bear with it for a little while and spare yourself the cash?
+Sean McKinley If either is a realistic option to you, money, or the saving of it, is not a huge consideration. Your time and comfort are.
