Scholars of islam says that one of the wisdoms of fasting is that we should know the suffering of poor, we should know how they feel when they are hungry and thirsty. Today my 7&8 year old girls were telling me mommy I m thirsty I told then whenever u feel thirsty remind u of Palestinian how they are suffering from hunger and thirst. This will encourage u to do something for them. My kids listened to me, realized it and never said that again.
this is just what my family do We don't force young children to fast. If they can fast half a day, good start. If the young children want to continue whole day , good. We try to give food their like for breaking fast as motivation they fast.
@@mars1pluto yes but what I believe we should not ask them To break fast at first go, we can encourage them to continue but if they really can't hold up fast for longer then we can surely break their fast as it's little bit difficult for them at this age. But Alhamdulillah my kids never broke fast before sunset whenever they fast.

Having leftover in Ramadan is very common. In sahari you cannot eat much and end up having a lot left in the table. Everyone is fasting during the day and no one touches the leftovers until the iftar time. To avoid wasting food, try to cook less than usual during Ramadan, if leftovers anyway, eat it in iftar.

I actually forced my mum to let me fast at 6 years old by saying I would fast without breakfast....sitting on the staircase stubbornly.
