I really love 80s style Slasher stuff. This game mode teeters on the edge of that. The downside to this and what's holding it back is it's just a game mode. Seeing this as it's own fully fleshed out game would have peaked my interest a lot more. Just sadly there's not a lot there and leads it to getting boring quite quickly. What are your thoughts on it?
Completely agree, from the horrendous intro cutscene to the missing audio and multiple things being close to each other (vent, doors, toolboxes). It's like they put this together in a week and sent it off. The map probably took longer than the actual gameplay mechanics.
Ah I love the toolbox slapped between 2 doors in the bathroom upstairs, the amount of people i've killed trying to close the doors on me there and going on the toolbox is hilarious. It's like you said, just feels like it's slapped together in a week and sent out to us, definitely doesn't feel like there was much play testing. Just like the rest of TCM updates.

Audio is the worst part, had Johnny chasing me yet i can't hear him neather the doors. Like this sound bugs are a serious issue that needs quick fixing...
the police actually get cut in half if you use both of the exits (so if example if you use call the cops with 4 minutes left it goes to 2:30 it doesnt just decrease 2 minutes)
I was excited for this game mode but no progression or other incentives to play this mode…. I probably end up uninstalling this game. Evil Dead was a great game, wish it got the support it needed to provide more content for the player base.
I was super pissed to learn that I needed to pay an extra 20$ to even touch this game mode. Not to mention, they have it labeled as “free to play” under the 20$ expansion content pass. Sorry, that’s not free to play. I put a 2 hr timer on, so I can enjoy the mode before refunding the content pass. In that 2 hrs, I never got to play as Johnny. Making the matchmaking god awful. Not to mention 1/3 of my games ended due to Johnny players or Survivors quitting at the start of the match. Survivors leaving because they didn’t get Johnny and johnny quitting or remaining AFK. The other 2/3, was semi enjoyable. I found learning the escapes to be the fun part. After knowing them, half the fun is gone. After that, the fun came from bullying Johnny as a last survivor and trying to escape with the police timer. Players shouldn’t have to make their own challenge to make the game fun. The map and premise is cool, yet parts of the map are so small. Allowing Johnny to stand in a doorway and trap you. Which makes the 2 hit extremely stupid and frustrating. It could’ve been a solid mode, but I think it’s DOA. It is too easy, matchmaking sucks, map is too small, and certain bugs/animations ruin experiences. I found it laughable when the opening animation played and it looks/sounds completely unfinished. For real tho! These devs are awful and this mode is so half assed. Immediately gonna refund the 20$ and I probably won’t touch this game for another 6 months of it is still around.
At least it will be free today without the content pass. But I agree with everything you said, disconnects happening almost every game because people don't get to play the side they want and even if people do stay around the game ends pretty quickly and is very anti-climatic. So many reused lazy stuff just brought into this mode from the main game too
I'm glad we finally got a sorority slasher game but it would've been better as a full game with more maps etc. Rush Week is buggy and needs work but it's a good idea for another slasher based game in the future.
I think the main problem is that the games go way too fast so there's no sense of enjoyment or satisfaction that you get in the regular game. You hardly get any game play in on either side so its just frustrating rather than enjoyable on top of how buggy the game is. After a weekend of playing this mode i think im done with it. The map is very small, the options feel too limited, you're down in two hits and whatever side youre on the games go so fast and you leave feeling unfulfilled rather than wanting to play more
Well. i may sound negative but this game mode hasn't gotten my attention since the reveal. Reason: we have to play with Jhonny - and i can't stand playing him. As for what i've seen he's just regular Jhonny more busted... but it is what it is. I thought it would bring more bugs... and guess i was right. My big issue although is how will they handle two game modes if they can't handle one? I would prefer it would be a temporary game mode with different gameplay styles, different family for us to play. For the gane mode itself... feels like friday the 13th... so i don't think it was creative at all. For the good part... lobbies seem to be great right now. Tomorrow i'll be able to play it 'cause it didn't make me want to buy content pass only for the mode. Hope for halloween at leat this game mode gain some features and not only a red bugged version of this map.
Not negative at all, just realistic and I share the concern of the balance of their resources between 2 game modes, something they're going to have to watch. It's very random to have another mode in this game and it doesn't even really bring a lot to the table. Should have maybe developed this as a separate game away from TCM and that way it wouldn't be held back by licensing issues. Then had 2 games with 2 teams working on them.
I mean your criticisms are very valid. I also have had door issues. I am hopeful they will build on this mode, allow friends to play together and incentives because all you are doing is playing for the win only. The game is unpolished, uninspired, buggy and a complete recycle of the main stuff just to push more ppl to buy their content pass stuff. GUN again shows how little they care for the game or us and just want our money. It's incredible to forge such a great game and such a unique title that's basically the movie 1 to 1 and then throw it all away a year after release. Shame on you GUN, and I hope they lose the license and someone else would continue developing. Even BHVR would do a better job at it, and even ALL dbd modes were better than trash week.

We got nothing, yet they still think they are the best, shootin against everyone else meanwhile BHVR really pushes out new dbd stuff and try to innovate in some ways and killer klowns?... let's not talk about them. Great IP, cool game, but Illfonic kills it again. Why on earth does nobody learn from mistakes and make an actual asym that works. Keeps most of the promises or uses their brain and make somewhat smart decisions? Is it really just greed? I can't imagine it's only cus of money anymore or we as asym community are just too dumb to punish those studios
oh it's definitely all fuelled by money, there's rarely any passion in these games. Evil Dead had passion and had all the voice actors, a great Triple A studio making the game. Just Saber/Embracer group decided to not support it post launch for more than a year, which is absolutely pitiful.
If they make like 4 of these mini gamemodes, and then make it so you get a random one every time you que up, or it switches between which of the four you can play every week then I think it'd be good. Otherwise this'll just be seen as an even worse Splatter Royale in a few months
I mean I’ve gotta be the only one that’s enjoying this game mode? It’s just funny how the community were complaining about having the game at a stand still, while the devs were happy not adding anything worthwhile to the game, or changing anything. Now we’ve finally got what we wanted, people still find ways to complain. Don’t get me wrong the game mode is a buggy mess, but it’s still basically in the beta version right? Not to mention the music slaps. I would also say that 2 hits for a kill is completely valid considering there’s 6 on the other team, and I’ve seen people escaping to the attic before Johnny even gets into the house, multiple times. It does need balancing but not necessarily on Johnny’s side, maybe changing where the attic pole spawns to outside. But the most important change I’ve seen is more players finally! So I’m happy, hoping this mode will get better and bring in more player base.
I enjoy playing it, I just find it very repetitive and yeah the attic pole is too quick to find and get out if you know the spawns, I was surprised it didn't have one outside.

I don't mind this mode. O played Johnny twice and i think im done for the year. Lol playing the victims is more fin than i thought it would be. I hope they make more modes like Hitch killing ppl on a graveyard some time before the first movie and a mode with sissy killing ppl in a cult or something similar. They could even give LF a solo mode on the house map killing tresspassers. Possibilities are limitless. The only limit is the creativity on Guns team.
That's another thing that annoys me, people DC'n as soon as they don't get Johnny lol, happens far too often. Not that it matter because you're not really playing for anything and you get into another game straight away. If they did make more modes like this with other family members, as someone mentioned in the comments, would be cool to have them in a playlist so it rotates through each one

I haven't watched the stream, just this video, but I will say my opinion out of this review: Only being able to play one of several family membera in this gamemode is beyond stupid. Just being able to play the family members, besides the incompetent ones that would have the police show up without even the girls calling them, would fix several issues. Also 2 hits to get them killed... what is this? Dead By Daylight? Even in Friday The 13th, they knew the survivors should be able to take more then 2 hits before going down. They should make it at least 3. And the party one... oh the Party one. I get it if you play as a Family Member, since there is only one of you. But on the girl's side? Yea that's dumb, especially if you only have limited resources to fight back. This also just means every game will be the same, uncoordinaded mess, that makes you wonder why you can down them soo quickly. Oh yea the police one, I feel like it should have worked the same way as in Friday The 13th, where after like 3-4 minutes, the cops show up at an escape point and you as a survivor have to run for it. Obviously you as a family member won't be able to get close to the escape point, and it still gives a good reason as to why you still don't get caught, despite the police being there.

I'm sure Wes just likes being pretentious to the playerbase and acts like it's a big inspirational thing because he watched one Giallo movie. It's literally more like a 80s Slasher than anything else lmao. But yeah, I guess people would defend them and say, you don't need progression, just play for fun...but yeah, can't have fun playing solo all the time either

Yeah, but I feel those people also don’t realize that the multiplayer games that don’t have progression usually have like 4 or 5 other game modes AND let you play with your friends… only to then get shelved after a few times and never played again.
There’s no reason to play/grind you don’t get xp or anything - they should have let you create your own sorority girl and playing gives you xp to unlock cosmetics or something
Yeah I really love this game mode but it sucks seeing how unpolished it is and thinking about how much time they wasted while their’s still a bunch of issues in the main game, just like their bad release timing and them going on a bunch of holidays and vacations, destroying the momentum.. this reminds me of evil deads random BR mode (not horde mode!?) that ruined the game imo lol, it feels like they new F13th was going away and wanted something to replace it..? .

My first game there was a hitchhiker and a hacker was making us do F13 dances.

Rush week is pretty bad. No xp. No party system. No unlockables. No fun. No point to play it.

The game mode is supposed to go free to play for everyone today so you wont have to buy the content pass to play it anymore

The mode just sounds boring and repetive after the first few times playing it.
