The dance scene was my favorite of all the Emma adaptations. I loved that they were the only 2 without gloves. It is such a small little detail that makes the biggest impact.
In this adaptation, Knightly handsomeness and charisma are emphasized and the passionate tension between him and Emma is breathtaking. Who on earth would be attracted to Churchill when you have this Knightly hunk.
I love this rendition because you see how ABSOLUTELY in love Knightley is with Emma. Like the adoration he shows for her is so endearing and relatable! The scene where he's laying on the floor basically fully having realized that until that moment he had been denying his feelings towards Emma... i c o n i c.
It wouldnt really be of a “new generation” since Jane Austin wrote this as well....it really does have her same style and ideas she implicates in most her books.
His torment is so clear, and that is what makes him a fantastic Mr. Knightley. Swooning at the dance scene, when you can tell he's been trying to keep himself back from kissing her. So that is why he's so amused at the little peck of a kiss she gave him. He'd been imagining what it would be like to kiss her, and that was not it! Swooning as well: The only married woman who will ever be permitted to invite whomever she pleases to his home will be Mrs. Knightley. But because she hasn't yet arrived, he will manage his house parties himself.
That's actually true in more ways than one. In this adaptation Emma doesn't actually seem to pay much attention to Churchill. She hardly mentions or seems to think about being in love with him like in other versions
Not to start a discussion but that's one of the only things I actually didn't like about this - I like a Frank Churchill who's Emma's counterpart - they are the same kind of person and Emma even respects his kind of subterfuge in the end - because it's what she would have done. I missed their dynamic. But this Knightly is incredible, so that makes up for it.
For me she has this kind of whim for him she really doesn't realize what love is, then the possibility of Knightley's marriage happens, and well she really loved him all along just didn't realize of that ✨ Beautiful video thank you 💖
Just looked at this sequence again and love the progression of realisation that they loved each other. Spaced out in the movie it is very gradual, but this post in marrying each scene so seamlessly really demonstrates how their love grew. Thank you once again. First time I saw Emma. at the cinema at the end I said that was perfect. The best Emma ever, the best Mr Knightley and everything about it all felt so right.
Without doubt this is the best adaptation of Jane Austen work for me. Maybe I am being slightly biased even but the manner in which the story is captured with a dash of humor is just perfect.
I haven't seen all the adaptations - But for this one with the actors, direction, production value, music and the subtle humor and visuals, to me make it an extraordinary production. IMHO _ Anya is really on her way - Kudos
This is the only movie that can come next to pride and prejudice for me. It just so happens they were both based off of Jane Austen novels. It really shows where my heart is😂
I watched this movie today and it's one of my new favorite movies. So we'll directed and played. The homour, the romance, the drama. Everything, I'm obsessed
saida - I'm a guy with the same problem, don't tell my Macho buddies please!! The whole structure of the movie is beautifully put together. Musically - visually - subtly - what a piece of art. - Another beautifully shot period piece to see is Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon" c1976 - Totally tragic tale - but the filming is art incarnate - The Indoor candle scenes when they gamble is a painting on film - look for it in Hi-Def
I can't stop from falling for him..his scars only make him even more handsome!also how gorgeous those eyes are?!!churchill who???it's only Knightly for me!😍
When I first saw Johnny Flynn in Vanity Fair I wasn't sure I liked him as a romantic hero, but he played it excellently. Here as Mr. Knightley, he reminds me that he excels as a romantic hero. If another Pride & Prejudice is made, he should be considered for Darcy.
@Lucía Jorquera Ravé -- Nah. At 3:41, that's a woman who thought, "Well, that's pleasant, but nothing to write about." Her expression at 3:55 reads, "Oooohhh... I get it, now."
I've seen this movie 3 times and I enjoy it more with every watch. I don't understand the poor ratings on IMDb etc and why the reviews are so bad. I love everything about it. Such an uplifting movie. The chemistry between Emma and Knightley is so dreamy...wonderful actors and a great soundtrack. Lovely costumes and sets.
BEST Edit! My favorite version of Emma, Mr. Knightly OMG...and the dance scene, everything so well put together (I rented it twice!!) Can't wait to purchase it, for now will keep watching this edit :)
I wish I could "like" this UA-cam video 1000 times. I saw this Emma movie in the theater the day before the theater closed because of the pandemic. Then I rented it from UA-cam four more times, because the movie is just so good.
You have recollected all my favorite parts of the movie, it just gave me goosebumps every five seconds of this clip.... GREAT JOB!!! Loved it! Thank you for this video.
omg i still haven't gotten over this wonderful, gorgeous, charming movie! anyone got any recommendations, please hmu! :x and thank you for the amazing compilation, you captured their love so beautifully!
“The Guernsey Literary and Potato Perl Pie Society” on Netflix. Weird title but great period movie with Lily James and Micheal Huisman. My new favorite.
This is incredibly amazing!! I watched this movie on the weekend and I was so pleasantly surprised! It was sooooo beautiful! One of my new favourite movies! Your video is gorgeous! Loved it so much 💕👏
Wrenching, heart-piercing compilation of scenes! Truly lovely, and the music! This production is by far the best adaptation of Emma that I've ever seen, and has caused for this Austen story to go from one of my least favorite, to one that I can't stop watching. Johnny Flynn is the definitive Knightly, just as Colin Firth is Darcy. Yes, the nosebleed scene is controversial for some, but I found it a brilliant metaphor for a culmination of firsts for Emma. Well done!
Knightly is my favorite. He has loved Emma his whole life. He held her when she was a baby. He thinks he is in the verge of losing her. He is so happy when, he finds out she loves him too.
I never heard her say she loves me...But that's okay cause I love him enough for the whole world. His angelic face, his nose and perfect lips and the fact that he loves Bob Dylan, as I do! Thank you G-d for Putting him on Earth especially at a time like this!
Superb edit! Well done. I love your videos. When I first saw this in cinema I thought it was a bit of a train wreck.... HOWEVER I now love it and am too embarrassed to say the amount of times I've watched the movie!!! I'm still trying to reconcile myself to Austens Knightly running after the carriage and I hated his custard coloured coat (made him look like a Fop as he would say himself) but he was a brilliant Knightly. A fine balance of comedy and subtlety in his performance - I initially thought he went too quickly from superior posh gentleman to vulnerable in-love-youth, but when you re watch you appreciate it was all about peeling away the societal layers to the real human underneath. For both of them in fact.
Oh I had a wonderful surprise when I saw you made this Emma video. I've loved videos you've done in the past for Max and Liz on Roswell New Mexico and they were amazing. This is such great work. You've captured their chemistry and thr voiceovers were done wonderfully xxx
I just finished watching this movie and I can't get over it!! 😭😭 how am I supposed to continue my life knowing that there's no such Mr. Knightley in this generation😭😭😭😭😭 Ps. Watched it while having a gloomy and rainy weather, ughhhh it suits the weather so well, I'M IN LOVE😢💗
So is this remake more Comedic than the original one from 2008? I am asking because I saw a clip of the proposal for this movie and Emma has a nosebleed. I don’t recall a nosebleed scene in the 2008 one.
Jae Chin anya (actress who plays emma) had a nose bleed during the shooting but they decided to keep it because it gave a different vibe to the scene! it was totally coincidental.
I first read this book when I was 10, during a literature class, and I have no idea what this story about... All I remember is I have to finish this in 2 days and write a book review.... and now I wanna punch the 10-year-old me in the face
The dance scene was my favorite of all the Emma adaptations. I loved that they were the only 2 without gloves. It is such a small little detail that makes the biggest impact.
Hm... did not pay attention to it, I should watch the movie once more)))
Have noticed the same detail! Thx,
Mine too
I noticed that too!!!
In this adaptation, Knightly handsomeness and charisma are emphasized and the passionate tension between him and Emma is breathtaking. Who on earth would be attracted to Churchill when you have this Knightly hunk.
*Knightley😉
Absolutely agreed
I like though how they antagonize each other in the beginning, playful - then the dance seen reveals it.
I agree, but i even found myself falling for Churchill too, o think he is also lovely
@@joycechristine7382not even close to Knightley.
Omg i loved every single moment of this movie the bickering, the proposing, Their eye contacts, chemistry,THE DANCE was perfect and so intense omg

The scene where he's laying on the floor basically fully having realized that until that moment he had been denying his feelings towards Emma... i c o n i c.
I'm a Mr. Darcy girl myself but i think this Mr. Knightley is the Darcy of a new generation.
Hear hear! 🥂
Seconded
I find him ugly actually
It wouldnt really be of a “new generation” since Jane Austin wrote this as well....it really does have her same style and ideas she implicates in most her books.
@@froggyceline well... good for you

Johnny Flynn is a brilliant actor and a beautiful man ! This version of Mr Knightly is so romantic..
In this adaptation, Frank Churchill has NO chance at all.

Seeing how romantic Mr. Knightley is it is impossible to think of anyone else 😀😀
in the book she almost tries to convince herself into liking him it's really funny
This is so good. The movie was amazing. They were definitely the best Emma Woodhouse & George Knightley.
tottally the best adaptation Automn grasp the essence of Emma as Austen created it
Yesss
For me, the most wonderful part of this romance is that they were friends first.
Just looked at this sequence again and love the progression of realisation that they loved each other. Everything he said during the proposal sucked the life out me, and took it ball-dancing in Georgian England.
3:41 Emma: Weird...I'm not sure if I felt anything
3:47 Knightley: Hold my beer
Yes please! Love the little smile he gives just before he shows her what a real kiss is.
@Lucía Jorquera Ravé -- Nah. At 3:41, that's a woman who thought, "Well, that's pleasant, but nothing to write about." Her expression at 3:55 reads, "Oooohhh... I get it, now."

Dude their chemistry was fucking lit!
I love the Mrs knightly quote
I agree with Rebecca. The detail of not wearing gloves proved that they were deeply in love.
There is no way to love anyone less because love is everything, all! 🌍 Either you give it completely or you don’t.
the thing is they only had a few scenes together
😍😍 lovely movie and lovely video
Have not seen this last version but I love the BBC 4 part series Emma. Jonny Lee Miller is Knightly and Romola Garai is Emma.
Lovely video. Great use of voiceovers
I once started reading Emma and stopped it immediately...but after having seen this movie, I badly want to restart it .
Although it makes me happy that you want to read the book, I am wondering why you stopped previously.

According to an interview i read it was planned actually, based on the director's life, she gets nosebleeds a lot
and i have read stuff that theorises the nosebleed is to like, humanise her and bring her down from her pedestal a bit
Já assisti Emma mil vezes de tanto que eu gosto rsrsrs
One of mu fav movie and beautiful
Nope nope nope- I’m ruined forever by the Romola Garai and Johnny Lee Miller version. Their chemistry and performances were just the best.
I agree!!
¡Hermosa película! 🥰
I really love this two 🌼🌼😀because they make feel in love Even if lm not😂😂

I'm still here sitting patiently for someone to make an edit of Harriet and Robert Martin to 'Back To December' by Taylor Swift...
Can not understand them with the music in the background
Why do the subtitles say "You've always been urine master" instead of "your own"?? 😂
cute cute cute
Silly question, what's the name of the film
Emma
What does if I loved you less I might be able to talk about it more mean
What is the name of this song?
Novo Amor - Carry You
