      Im curious about the engines. In my mind, 475hp per an engine seems low for a yacht of this size. Though i would assume plenty of torque to push her while maintaining fuel efficiency.

    • @wtfanimejosh
      @wtfanimejosh 3 місяці тому

      @pken9814 It's a displacement vessel and does not go on plane. So, it's meant to apply torque for range. Rough guesses with 2 engines at 475 at 31 meters, at 8 to 10 knots cruise range would be 4000 NM. Possibly more depending on the tanks. Nordharven usually performs about the same on their 95 series also with 475. If you want world exploration, displacement is the way to.

    The things up on the windows, are basically electrically powered viewing portals with a pane of glass that spins at high speed, so that any rain that lands on them gets flung off, thus allowing you to see out in bad weather, without wipers.

      Those spinning windows are also used on CNC machining equipment. Many CNC's utilize a milky-looking coolant fluid sprayed onto the cutting parts and the rapid spinning machinery throws the coolant all over the windows of the CNC machine, making it difficult for the operator to see the work --- the spinning window port offers a clear view inside.

Now for the homework you gave me to do. Thanks a lot.😅😅😅The circles on the bridge windows are Clearview Screens used to see through in heavy rain and seas. It has a glass disk that is heated and rotates to disperse heavy sea spray, rain and snow. Also prevents condensation and icing. The screen is driven by an electric motor. Is it not a bit tiring to have owners and passengers so close all the time? When I stated at sea as a 15 year old back in the early 60’s, we also had 12 passengers onboard cargo vessels. Later, back in the early 70’s a captain I did sail with once came onboard after a trip ashore and told me there was a 2nd mate job on a cruise vessel for me if I was interested. My reply was, I don’t want talking cargo 😂. So my time at sea, also as captain was reefers, bulk, RoRo and general cargo. Enjoy your command.

    Are the crew going to be part of your videos? What level of exposure is the owner going to allow? Will the owner and family/guests be shared with us? As you and other yatching youtubers have pointed out in the past, security is a priority, how public will you be allowed? In this post you mentioned after this season she is going in maint, service, refit? What will be done, would you be able to share that process with us?

    Looks like most of your viewers have identified the spinners on the windshield. The boat has a very classical finish, I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the layout & decor.

    Congratulations on your New Command, looks like a Brilliant Vessel, Welcome back, missed your Great Vidclips. Is your Wife back onboard with you .... ????? .... Now .... Those 'Round Things' .... We knew them as a "CLEARVIEW" when I was in 'Sea Rescue' back in Cape Town .... Many, Many Years Ago .... :-) :-) :-) Suppose that they would have Very Different names and make, depending where you are... They are Rotating/Spining 'Panes' where the Rain/Spray is 'Spun Away' .... Best to All from ChCh, NZ

    @3:44 Not to complain but who in the world plays 2...b5 as a reply to 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3?
    (Okay, Magnus Carlsen would probably play something like this. And win even against Grandmasters.)

    @6:37 that would be the Bravo flag....for if you are bunkering...discharging....or carrying some kind of hazardous or dangerous cargo.

    I'd be smiling like that too. Looking forward to the new adventures. No FLIR? (Forward Looking InfraRed) Figure a vessel like that should have that capability.

    Tristan, is your wife with you? Are you still handling your charter and sales end of the business? I've been following you four years and love your videos! Would love to meet you and your wife sometime at FLIBS. I hope to get there this year. My sister lives in Orlando and I've been talking to her about going down there this year as I live in NC now. As I have mentioned to you before, I lived in the Sarasota - Bradenton area since 1986. I worked for Teakdecking Systems in the '90s. I never got to go do the show back then. Hope to meet you along with David Seal, Nick, and Rico and Victoria.

    Remember....Gotta have Two, and if there is room...Three! Horror or Horrors, you only have two "Kent Clear views" Tut Tut - No doubt you will have a third VHF Radio Portable, that might do for Radios???

    Well now, this is more like it. You look like you need a rest, I don't remember you looking that weathered before. Sorry mate, we all get old :D Those look like Kent Clear View screens, basically spin contamination off instead of wiping it off. Beloved of the RN in WWII. But maybe not Kent brand. You fly the red flag when fueling. Bravo. I have to admit I unsubscribed while you were just flogging boats and looked kind of homeless, in a boat way. Looking forward to seeing the oily bits.

    Really pleased and excited for this as I won’t lie…stopped watching and unsubscribed when you left AWOL. I watch other “Captain” channels but never been quite the same! Are the crew going to be part of your vlogs?

    Hi Captain! Welcome to your next Helm! They are lucky to having you 👏 My question is: Is your wife traveling with you? Is she taking a part in the crew? I remember you both from your last command and just wondered.

    Kent Screen x 3 Nice. Only pure red light has no impact on night vision, unfortunately white light through red a gel is no good. So in the yard I would politely suggest a change to red led's. My Father made a system out of red led cells fitted into Kodak film canisters for night passages. I think he read about them in Yachting Monthly of possibly Practical Boat Owner, and off he went into his workshop and a bit later (couple of weeks) he unveiled his creation. To me and my brothers they seemed to be a very poor attempt at homemade Xmas lights, but they worked marvellously well and I still have them in a box in the loft. You have command of a very capable world girdler there and I am looking forward to your voyages. I wish you calm seas and fair winds. Nice to have you back.
