I paid a visit for a day and basically saw the same places. Very nice recogniction factor in this vid for me :) The thing is, all the places you saw are must visits, so I guess for more exclusive Segovian content, one would need to stay there for a couple of days. Which would be enjoyable for sure. Beautiful city.
Next to the Pradera de San Marcos you have the beautiful Iglesia de la Fuencisla, built excavating into the stone hill. Also, el Paseo del Salón, and crossing the aqueduct, the polemic Devil statue they installed some years ago.
✅ I would love if you could add maybe the guides info or contacts for Barcelona Madrid or Sevilla 🙏🏻Sigan haciendo vídeos mi esposo y yo nos hemos enamorado de españa and I could say we are going on this trip because of your videos 🥳 nos hemos enamorado de españa saluditos a la hermosa familia.
I spent a month in Segovia as part of a 6-week trip with a homestay and as part of a group from the U.S. I was 19 years old. A fabulous city and part of my journey toward being the interpreter I am now....and I am now a grandma! I loved my time in Segovia and will return there some day. I lived with a woman named Pilar Berdejo. I wonder what happened to her...we lost touch. That aqueducto is something. We used to lie in our beds in the dark and Pilar would tell me the legends of the region, which I still remember. And I remember the alleged Iglesia de La Vera Cruz en las afueras de Segovia. Thanks for bringing back all of those memories!
Hi there, I will be in Segovia for a couple of days 10-12 October. Can you give me some indication of what type of weather to expect. I’m travelling around Spain and realise I will need different clothes for different regions 😅
As a relative of those Spanish Jewish people, I feel so connected with this video James, last year got my Spanish citizenship because of my Sephardic ancestry. I imagine my relatives living in those beautiful streets and suddenly they have to leave everything they had to save their lives. As always in life, there are some challenges and sometimes happy moments. I went to visit Segovia last year and it was awesome.
@@Kitiwakeimagine if Muslims did the same forced Christians or Jews to convert to Islam the mainstream media will be fuming and saying islam is a terror religion
LOVE LOVE LOVE SEGOVIA!!! I went in the height of summer and sat in the jewish quarter drinking vermouth all afternoon. Was the best experience. One of my most favourite places in the world.
I love Segovia, and have been a couple of times! Loved your recommendations! We always go to Royal Palace of La Granja of San Ildefonso for a walk in the gardens before going into Segovia, and grab a bite at La Taberna del Pelon.
Gran video James. Gracias!!!
Fantastic outing. My father was born and raised in Segovia. He passed away last year; so in-turn, I have felt compelled to journey out to the mother land to walk where he walked. I haven’t been since I was 4 years old. This one was very special for me. Thank you guys.
I studied in Segovia. I absolutely loved this tour as it brought back so many memories. Thank you! My favorite place to go after studying was Oso Blanco’s to have a delicious glass of Sangria.
I'm from Segovia, this is the REAL tour because this are the things everyone MUST visit and on the right way and the best "Cochinillo restaurant" of the city like a true Chad!
You inspire me. I'm a Kiwi too, and hope to make it back to Spain (for a second time) next year. If I do, Segovia will be on my agenda! I love your Spain travel and food videos.
A beautiful video. To point out a few other places of interest in Segovia, I would recommend the Paseo del Salón, the Poets' Garden, the Mauricio Fromkes garden square, walking the path that goes from the Church of La Veracruz to the San Lorenzo neighborhood, passing above the Parral Convent- from there, the views of the city are incredible. And outside the city, the province offers wonderful visits, both in nature and to its towns: the Hoces of the Duratón and Riaza rivers, La Sierra de Guadarrama y Ayllón, the Royal Palace of La Granja, Pedraza, Ayllón, Maderuelo, Cuéllar, Turégano, Sepúlveda, Fuentidueña... to name the most notable ones.
I absolutely love every corner of Spain that you experience. You always give us a bit of history and cuisine of the area you visit. This is why I love your presentations. I will always be watching for another amazing adventure.
In 2004, as part of my study abroad program, we had to arrive 2 weeks before the semester started to learn about the art, architecture, and history of Madrid. We also had to take side trips from Madrid, and Segovia was one of those side trips. We had a good tour in the freezing cold. It was snowing, I think. In 2018, I wanted to show Segovia to my husband, and we bought an Avila - Segovia package from Madrid. We had a horrible guide! He didn´t tell us much, we think he invented facts, and just kept repeating to leave him a good review on Trip Advisor. We actually bonded with a few fellow tourists over how bad our guide was and started hanging out with them in Madrid over the course of that week. After seeing your video, I am dragging my husband back to Segovia, and we are going to do it right! We are going to have a "Spain Revealed" day and copy your suggestions and actually understand what we are looking at. We will even hire your guide. And good to know that "little boy" armor exists. I am only 5 feet tall and 100 lbs, but I want to hike the Castilla La Mancha portion of the Camino (the part I skipped last summer) dressed in full body armor because I am almost finished reading Don Quijote and finishing a 945-page book requires some sort of epic celebration. Plus, I think my tribute to Don Quijote will make the Spaniards on the Camino laugh.
I went to Segovia in 2019. It was a magical visit. I loved the aqueduct & the Alcazar. Did not try the pig but we discover another Spanish delicacy: bocadillo del calamar. 😋
I love love love Segovia! The aqueduct is so impressive, the Castle… and of course , the crispy piglet!!! I would love to be there right now! Thanks for another awesome video❤️ bonne soirée!
My only regret in my life will be that I did not discover you sooner in my life. It was because of you and Yoli that I was excited about going to Tenerife and Andalucia in Sep 2019. I must have viewed whatever videos you had and viewed them day and night. I learned so much. I watch them over and over. Thank you. I had a great experience meeting my family in Spain. I can't wait to return.
Upon your recommendation we traveled to Segovia and have truly enjoyed the city!!! We also took in dinner at Jose Maria, it was simply fantastic. The food, service and ambiance were amazing. Just bring your appetite because the portions were very generous. I would suggest you plan on spending the night because the walk around the city at night is beautiful. Thanks James!!!!
Some repairs were made in the Alcazar, which required drilling some walls, and inside they found a old Roman fortress: the Alcazar or castle is built over an old Roman fortress
My mom is from Segovia, I spent all my summers there as a kid and lived two blocks away from the aqueduct for over 4 years as an adult. You nailed it. Especially with El Sitio. It's literally in the name, it is the place .(I prefer the roasted lamb, and Maribel does an obnoxiously good job if you're looking for something more affordable than Jose Maria. But there is no beating Jose Maria if you're willing to pay the extra coin) I'd also highly recommend taking the guided tour of the cathedral's bell tower. There are 5 tours a day and normally run 45 minutes. They offer some of the best views of the town and is totally worth the extra 7 euros.
Thank you, one more to add to my list. We went to Caceres after seeing your video of that trip and loved it so will definitely plan a trip to to the city soon.
Something always draws me back to Segovia. I was first there briefly in about 1974, then in 2006-ish, and a couple of years ago. I love sitting on the plaza mayor and winding through the old Jewish quarter, but it's always been just a brief day-trip stop. Now you've given me new things I want to see and maybe do an overnight to take in more of the area. Great video guys! Lucia is really growing-love the hair!
We were there Dec 2021. It was late afternoon -went to that park with the castle background, toured the Alcazar, missed the cathedral since it was closed at 6 Pm, walked towards the aquaduct. More or less 2 hrs in Segovia. We loved the day trip -Toledo,Avila included.
Hey James, fellow kiwis here! We were just in Spain over the Christmas and New Year break and we took a day trip to Segovia too! We were in awe of the Aquaduct! That sort of history is amazing coming from NZ. We just wanted to say that your videos helped us plan our trip to Spain. So informative and your passion for everything in Spain is always evident. It helps that you have a kiwi accent too haha! Thanks so much!
That bell tower was magnificent. I watched this video at least once, but like many of your videos, I revisit them because I always learn something new the 2nd time around.
im from segovia, jesus you ate the revolconas that i eat u made me cry, El sitio is so nice for drinking a beer and get free tapas. Thank you very much for enjoying my town and explain it that well, best wishes.
Hi James, Yoli and Lucia, Great video of Segovia and great to see you all looking so well. You did a great job of showing us the best parts of Segovia. I also think you made the right choice for the best cochinillo. Casa Candida is fantastic and has been visited by thousands of very famous people from all over the world but it's a little more touristy than Meson Jose Maria. A nice place to visit on the right day is the town market which is held up by the Catedral in the plaza mayor. There's also a great gin bar up there. Segovia is like being in a time warp. I love it. Looking forward to your next video.
Sitting here in Montreal and thinking about Spain. We have been intending to go since just before the pandemic hit. Now you have got usthinking about Segovia!!!! We had our sights on Valencia but we alsohave added Madrid and Segovia toor list. As usual a Great video. Fast paced and full of great family images..... that Lucia is a cutiee and a perfect mix of Espagnola and Kiwi. Thanks so much for your energy and your insight into Spanish culture too.We cannot wait to visit now!
Excellent video guys. I watch your adventures whenever I have time. As an expat living in the Persian Gulf for the past 10 years, I really appreciate your videos about amazing Spain. Buen trabajo chicos!,
Great video about Segovia! I was born and raised in Segovia and I love this video. I live abroad since 5 years and I do not hesitate to share this cool video so more people get to know more about my hometown. Great job, bravo!
Beautiful job on the video, James. A wonderful representation of the city and all that it has to offer. So much better than a day trip, if people could fit it in, would be an overnight stay. It is so nice to have time to walk and wander, getting to know the smaller streets and hidden places. The last time I was there, I stayed a couple of nights in a hotel right in Plaza Mayor; my window looked out onto the plaza with a great view of the cathedral. It felt like I was centrally located among all of the great things you pointed out. Thanks for helping me revisit all these beautiful spots!
Thank you Kathy! And it's true that while it's totally do-able in one day, with an overnight trip you can really slow down. Your room sounds like it was gorgeous!
Awesome! We enjoyed Segovia in June 2007 when they had an art show at the bottom of the aqueduct. The medieval home at the foot of the aqueduct is a restaurant that serves the traditional roasted pig and potatoes dinner, it was amazing to sit amongst the historic treasures. You showed the best parts, gracias!
Hey Nancy, if you’re a wine lover, be sure to stop by Restaurante Maracaibo. It’s located directly across the street from the bus station. I used to work there as a cook, and the owner Oscar Hernando is an amazing sommelier who also produces his own wines, which you can taste there. He always has a great selection if wines by the glass and great tapas on offers at the bar. The restaurant in the back is on the higher end and more expensive, but the bar is great. Hope you have a chance to stop by…enjoy!
Hey Nancy, one more tip. If you’re in Segovia, I imagine you’ll stop by the nearby village La Granja de San Ildefonso. If you do, be sure to make a reservation at La Fundición restaurant. It is the best restaurant in the area that should cost waaaaay more than it does. The head chef, Anibal Herrero, is doing great twists on traditional, local dishes. So worth a visit!
I went to Alicante and Benidorm last week when I saw your last post and it was so fantastic! Now, I think you know where will I go next... Segovia it is! The suckling pig reminds me of "lechon" back in PH. Great informative video as always!
I loved Segovia. It's so dense in history and sites. I'm surprised that there are no documentaries or coverage of the Zuloaga family lineage. They have a museum in their honor, but no coverage on the fact that Juan Daniel Zuloaga still has a living/breathing pottery studio. He carries on the family trade/art. I believe he's the 5th generation potter. He was the highlight of my visit to Segovia.
THANK YOU!!! You have really made the plan for me. I will be on Madrid in July and I was trying to decide where to go for a day trip. This is it....again much appreciated.
A great guide for visiting Segovia. The aqueduct is spectacular and as you said in today's live stream, it's hard to believe that traffic was permitted to go through until 1992, instead of going all out to keep it as perfect as possible forever.
Wonderful video. we were in Segovia on our own a few years ago and really enjoyed it, but we didn’t know how much we were missing! Going back again soon and will get a guide - maybe Elena! - for more. What an inspiration. Thanks James, Yoly, and Lucia ❤️
Congratulations, a great video showing Segovia. That if it is a weekend also have a great tapas tour with great wines sold by glass with "tapa" in many bars.
Brilliant 🎥 Folks! Segovia's history & cuisine combined 🤗 I myself ❤️ Cochinillo & cant wait to go back to 🇪🇸 To try once more Losta ❤️To you now three 🤗👍
Guys, spot on! Been there twice and re-lived it again with this video. Actually want to return. Looking forward to similar videos like this one, but other spots in Spain. Enjoyed it very much! Thank you for the tour! Saludos desde Puerto RIco!!!
I just came back from seeing Roman aqueduct and I was truly amazed of this place and Elena happened to be my travel tour what a small world. She was amazing
Fantastic video! We just took a day trip to Segovia about a month ago and did a video too! We headed to Candido for the suckling pig instead! Great to see the other place too! Looks like we'll have to go back!
What a great tour! I live in Juderia (Jewish Quarter). It's super that you've done such a great video on the city, so informative and beautifully shot. Segovia is a jewel and it's such a privilege living here. Bravo!
Perfect showing of Segovia James. Thank you. We will be visiting Segovia in our next Spain trip. We have been spending months in Spain last 12 years, exploring different beauties of Spain every time we visit. We would love to meet you, to get info and check few Paradors for you to introduce and book, and give our love to beautiful Yoli and Lucia. Sending our love to you all!!. . . Next I am watching you in Toledo, beautiful city we have been. Hope to see you in Salamanca soon!
One of our favourite places easy reachable from Madrid. Segovia never disappoints. I follow you guys already a while but you did not make a video about our most favourite place till now. 2u30 drive from Madrid...Monaterio de Piedra
I really think there should be some preventive measures put in place for the aquaduct. But wow, that city looks amazing! And so much rich history there too!
Excellent video which captures Segovia very well. Was there for three days myself and ate at that very same restaurant where the service was fantastic. We were treated like important guests. There for just a day, you did miss the following, well worth a visit: 1. THE CHURCH OF VERA CRUZ It was founded by the Knights Templar in the 13th century, and is a singular church in the Romanesque style with a floor plan in the shape of a 12-sided polygon. It has three semicircular chapels and two doorways with archivolts on columns. The church takes its inspiration from the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the origin of the Templar Order. On a hill outside the city walls reached via the descending steps featured in your video. 2. ESTABAN VINCENTE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART. Vincente was born on Jan. 20, 1903, in Turegano, a small town in Segovia, Spain. His father, a military officer and amateur painter, soon resigned his commission and moved his family to Madrid so that his six children could grow up in the capital. After moving to the US became famous member of the American Abstract Expressionist movement and is widely exhibited. Died 2001,Bridgehamption, New York, at the age of 97. 3.The revered Spanish poet Antonio Machado lived in this house-museum for
Hey James!! ❤️

The medieval home at the foot of the aqueduct is a restaurant that serves the traditional roasted pig and potatoes dinner, it was amazing to sit amongst the historic treasures. You showed the best parts, gracias!
Great timing! We will be in Segovia in April. Always good information for our travels!
Awesome Nancy!
I’ve been to Segovia twice and have loved it. You did a magnificent job and now I have to go back one day to go to Jose Maria. 🇦🇺
Visited segovia today and Elena guided us! Amazing experience thank you Elena and Spain Revealed!
Thank you so much for coming!
Gorgeous historical city from every point of view !
I went to Alicante and Benidorm last week when I saw your last post and it was so fantastic! Now, I think you know where will I go next... Segovia it is! The suckling pig reminds me of "lechon" back in PH.
Great informative video as always!
What a great video, James!! I really enjoyed it!
The food looked awesome! I hope I can visit soon!!
I was in Segovia back in September and your video perfectly touches on the beauty of the city and ignited my dream to return there one day.
Thank you very much.
Amazing video !! I would love to visit Spain again !
ANOTHER beautiful place we need to visit. Oh, that food . . . . . . .
The list is getting long Peter!
I was stationed at Torrejon in 1976-79. Left Madrid on a 70° day and drove to Segovia and got stranded in the mountains in a blizzard with no chains.
Amazing architecture and history! Thanks!😊
Yes to more Fay trips! Your always welcome to tapear in Jaen . Bailey and Torredonjimeno have great tapas places!
Incredible right?!
Great video James thank you very much👍
Wonderful video. we were in Segovia on our own a few years ago and really enjoyed it, but we didn’t know how much we were missing!
I know, that i'm a little late for the comment, but i wouldn't mind visiting segovia, just to check out the aqueduct.....❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Brilliant 🎥 Folks! Segovia's history & cuisine combined 🤗
I myself ❤️ Cochinillo & cant wait to go back to 🇪🇸 To try once more
Losta ❤️To you now three 🤗👍
Well you’ve done it again. Having sampled many of the eateries you recommended in Madrid and Toledo I am now having to go here!
Perfect timing. I'm doing a day trip to Segovia next week. Thank you James.
Thank you so much!
We just visited yesterday and saw all of your recommended sights, minus the cemetery. It’s a beautiful city, highly recommend the alcázar!
Thanks for tips, going to visit 14 cities in Spain for 40 days in two weeks, watching all your videos
I never new about this great city! Awesome 😎
Fantastic video! We just took a day trip to Segovia about a month ago and did a video too! We headed to Candido for the suckling pig instead! Great to see the other place too! Looks like we'll have to go back!
Great content - and super video quality!
Guys you are awesome , really love your videos. Awesome content! I hope you cross a 1 million subs very soon , you guys deserve it 🥂
What a great tour! I live in Juderia (Jewish Quarter). It's super that you've done such a great video on the city, so informative and beautifully shot. Segovia is a jewel and it's such a privilege living here. Bravo!
Bravo James. I eat at José María but must go back to visit the Judería. The Alcazar was amazing.
Thanks James!
Thanks 🙏🏽
Loved your video we were there in November 23 loved it
Loved El Sito tapas ❤
The best city tour
Great flashback for me. Segovia was one of my most memorable places of my vacation in Spain. thanks!
I really think there should be some preventive measures put in place for the aquaduct. But wow, that city looks amazing! And so much rich history there too!
Excellent video which captures Segovia very well. Was there for three days myself and ate at that very same restaurant where the service was fantastic. We were treated like important guests. There for just a day, you did miss the following, well worth a visit:
1. THE CHURCH OF VERA CRUZ
It was founded by the Knights Templar in the 13th century, and is a singular church in the Romanesque style with a floor plan in the shape of a 12-sided polygon.
3.The revered Spanish poet Antonio Machado lived in this house-museum for
Thank you for that. I asked for permission to film in Veracruz, but sadly they turned me down
Great video!! It captures essential Segovia.
Hey James!!
Great video!!!!
Beautiful city.
We wil go to Segovia next trip to Madrid!
I am Irish and live in Segovia and you did a good job. Enjoyed watching the video. :)
Cheers!
Excellent video, brought back many memories of my 3 trips to Segovia,
I’ve eaten at that wonderful restaurant twice. 👍
