Mark Hermens i would say turbo s is a downgrade from his gts, or on par maybe, if he was just sticking to one car it should be a definite upgrade in every way!
First of all I think that a 911 would be a bit """boring""" mainly because of the look and second because there are so many Porsches around that it's almost a common car, it's not like "Oh god, look! A 911" (I'm not taking about GT3 RS or 918 of course lol), and second his GTS is quite a beast, especially after the Renntech upgrade (I mean, 610 bhp, if I'm not wrong, and the sound is really good) :)
lol this is why i unsubscribed months ago....its not just a mistake on this video he sucks at editing every video...many better youtubers to watch for automotive content
Jorge Pinedo we don't know much about it, but I bet it will be way out of the budget... Whereas the GT3 is about as much as the AMG GT yet sounds so much better and also handles better
***** lol what?! watch JWW's videos with 911 GT3 especially after he fitted ipe exhaust. That engine revs past 9k rpm (!!) and sounds orgasmic, it changes its tone throughout the rev range and sings just beautifully. The twin turbo in the amg sounds good but even after renntech its nowhere near as close as the GT3
if he cant afford to put a carerra s in the budget i doubt a hurracan or aventador is in it. The m4 is probably the best looking touring car out there.
Part of having a daily is lowering your costs, a old RS6 doesn't make sense. A newer RS4 Avant makes sense a bit more if you want something fun but really a brand new car will be the best buy for him.
I must be the opposite, I loved Porsche until I bought the first gen 997 Carrera S and was the start of my nightmare, the first couple of months where fine until it started mis-firing, took it to a local Porsche specialist who diagnosed it as a cracked coilpack( exposed to high temperatures as its next to the exhaust). got that fixed and then a couple of months later I had the dreaded IMS bearing failure which resulted in a engine failure and needed a full engine re-build. I fell out of love with it and sold it after the engine got repaired. Personally the so-called entry level 911's(Yes I did say that. LOL) are not that great, If you want the Porsche experience you have to go in a 911 Turbo/GT2/GT3 RS.
he's absolutely correct when he states that a lot of people don't get the Porsche bug until they've driven one or ridden in one. it's not something you'll understand from watching UA-cam all day or looking at numbers.
Hey! So i’m really scratching my head over what alternatives i have when it comes to my next daily driver. Here are some things that it needs to have: • AWD (4 months of snow here in Sweden per year) • Fairly good fuel economy considering we pay 1,55 USD / litre 95 octane or per US gallon 5,86 USD. Diesel is about the same price but with higher taxes. • Decent amount of hp but more importantly torque to remain entertaining when wanted (350 HP minimum) • Reliable Some basic info about me to base your suggestions on: • 6’9 tall so everything below a RS3 size wise is impossible • A mildly varying montly net income of approximately 4,8k USD • 25 years old • Will drive between 9000 and 15000 miles a year Would love to hear all of your opinions and suggestions! Thanks!!
Adrian P great shout on the F10 M5, but personally I think his AMG GT is a great everyday car, I thought the idea of the Audi A1 is because its a cheap daily that can be parked anywhere, when you start spending a large amount of money on a exciting daily you tend to treat it with to much respect(parking in 2 bays, 3 meters from the kerb, cleaning it every week etc) instead of just battering it everywhere and not caring as its your daily!!!
From working with Porsche, I would highly recommend the 981 Cayman GTS or a 991 gen 1 Carrera GTS as a daily car, the Cayman is only a 2 seater unlike the 911 but it's has more space for luggage and is cheaper in all aspects than the 911 and personally, I think it sounds better than the 911, the 911 is a good GT car and is reasonably practical, but definitely get the non turbo charged as they sound so much better. If it's sound you want, check out the Cayman GT4, that car is the best car Porsche make: practical, amazing to drive and sounds absolutely amazing!
It cracks me up when people call it a sports car and not a supercar. The only reason I can think they do that is that it's not "mid-engine", they don't quite break 200mph (which is easily remedied), and that unlike every one else they don't over charge. But I tell you one things for certain I consider them supercars and the 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S is not only a supercar it's one of the best ever made. It's the perfect balance of performance (450HP, 7 speed manual, ceramic disc brakes, 20mm lowered sport suspension, torque vectoring, rear wheel steering), reliability, and daily driveability (and relatively affordable to fix if something breaks)...and all for $152,440. Half that of the Lamborghini Huracan and they will run neck & neck all day. But the Carrera S is more fun.
Used 2009 base pdk cayman. Enough usable power for every day fun (power comes at the very high end of the rpm). Small and practical enough (parking and fitting stuff is super easy). Low fuel consumption comparing it to its competitiors (and many other cars with smaller engines). For me this is the best daily (petrolhead) formula.
If you want a different brand from Audi, you can't go for a Volkswagen (e.g. Golf R) because they are nearly the same (Porsche, Audi, Lambo and VW are all in the Volkswagen Group!). So if no Volkswagen Group and no Merc, maybe go for a Hot Hatch like the BMW M140i or a "used" M135i LCI. The engine of the M140i was tested by Joe Achilles in the M240i vs his M2 - and it was so close to win against the M2! Whole new Brand, six cylinders and a big amount of power! :) I just ordered a M140i in August, will be delivered in 3 weeks
If you want a very good sports car you can get a porsche 718 cayman, a bmw coupé m4/m2. Or if you want more of hardcore sedan with very good practicality and confort you can get very good Audis or an M3 or volvo s60/v60 polestar
Being in a brand new m4 competitionpack... It is way faster thsn the rs3.... Really powerful car. It feels /pulls you back further than a Huracan or C63... Its also hella comfortable. I really recommend it.
ive got the first tts, a 2010. Good little car, best winter sportscar on the market in my opinion. I hear the new one is just spot on in terms of balance and power. So you should test the new TTS and maybe the ABT TTS as well.
Would a lower end Maserati be in the budget? I don't know how much the budget is but you can get an 07 for around £35K not the newest equipment inside but still a great car overall
Much as I like the 911, you can't really class it as a daily driver vs the AMG GTS. Both have similar levels of practicality and the Porsche is only a bit slower. It's also £85k starting price. The 911S is the 911 you can afford but not the one you want. The GT3 RS is the Porsche that you want and everyone who has a 911 wants. The best DD is the RS6 allegedly which ticks the boxes in lots of areas. Yours is to argue the best practical DD. The 911 and AMG GTS are too similar in my opinion.
I hate those big glass sunroof's unless there is an interior blind you can pull across which does not seem to be possible with such a big glass area. That's a bad colour for a 911. They look best in dark metallic colours.
I'm going to be hated for saying this, but personally I'd totally get a mk7 Golf GTI (or even GTI Clubsport) Its more practical than any other car of this size, yet its properly fun to drive, and its refined, comfortable on motorways, has all the tech (like adaptive cruise control and proper infotainment system), easily tunable and cheap to run
Buy an M4. You never had an BMW it is very Price Stable and Looks stunning. When you buy an M4 buy it with the Competition Package. Handles alot better
Maybe the new Subaru WRX Sti? It's an awesome car that is good looking, not very expensive, has a good amount of power and it's very fun to drive. I would also recommend the EVO X but if you are looking for a new car than Subaru is the one.
The BMW Alpina D3. No brainer (for me atleast) if your looking for a daily. Looks good, quality interior, drives great, great power (345HP and 700NM torque) and it a diesel, so you can expect it to have decent amount of range. You can also have it in a estate.
I have the 2015 M3 , it's the closest to perfection car in my opinion price is reasonable for the performance and pedigree you get, 4 doors , plenty of space ,good fuel economy, great looks. the ride is taut and on the firm side. steering feel transmission and suspension each has three levels so you can choose different driving scenarios
I still don't know your maximum budget. I think you're going to end up buying a Tesla, it's a good car to cruse and accelerate when you need it. Interiors are really good, same about the look, infotainment and new technologies... what do you think about it?
What about a BMW 2-series? Which one depending on your price range. I believe that it is one of the best looking cars of the range you are looking at. A good cruiser, with nice interior, sporty and obviously has a sun visor.
audi rs3, mercedes a45 AMG, bmw m4, nissan GTR, porsche gt3 rs, ford focus rs there are a lot of options paul. I think you should go for a hothatch or a porsche.
i dont know your price range but ... i think porsche is a good brand ... its realible and very well build ... but .. you said that you drove your family with a1.. and it this it a bit imposible so i would suggest (if you can afford it) porsche macan or audi rsq3, or low milage used panamera ... its also a pors but you will get a lot more practical car ... you can maybe even find panamera turbo IN GENERAL ... LOOK AT USED CARS .. YOU WILL SAVE A LOT OF MONEY AND GET WAY BETTER CARS FOR MONEY (for 50k you can get 2013 audi s8 with 25k miles ... and its one of the best cruisers on the road)
New Honda Civic type r, Ford Focus rs (new one), fiesta st (new one) for an aftermarket exhaust such as milltek or mountune, stage 1 remap and you're sorted for all the power, fun, road trips, general driving or taking your mates in as they all have the space for passengers comfortably and all have loads of natural light coming in. Plus it would be funny to watch your facial reactions once you out your foot down in all of those cars
Had a Golf R for a week in Cape Town. Very fast, comfortable, capable and practical. Four wheel drive is amazing and it sounds incredible. Please take a look.
Got a question for you Paul: If you did not own the AMG GTS but had the funds for either a new AMG GTS or a new Porsche 991.2 Carrera S would you still have gone for the AMG? Also, might I suggest that you do a comparison between both your AMG GTS and the Porsche 991.2 Carrera S as they are most definately 2 cars that would have to be cross shopped often. I guess the only issue is that your car is already tuned so the comparo would be somewhat unfair.....but I am sure it would be easy enough to find a stock GTS to test. Whilst your at it though why not do a test between you're previous Lambo and new Revo AMG GTS. Anyways mate, love your channel, very jealous and keep up the good work :) Regards Pat
Interrupting elite chat (Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati...). Still havent found replacement for my old 99 Ford Cougar. 1) Good cruiser. 2) Daily usable. 3) 4 seats (back seats lowerable). 4) Trunk with enough space for 2 holiday bags packed with stuff for 10 days. 5) Looks, sounds and drives sporty (coupe that sticks on road and gives adrenaline feeling while driving). 6) Has sunroof. 7) Reliable (Cougar needed to change alternator in 2015 since 1999) . 8) Budget 7k EUR. 9) At least 120kW. If someone can recommend me another jewel like Cougar I would be very happy.
Have you think of the CLA45 Shooting Brake in Spider Red with night package. It has sufficiently storage space and quite unique that there weren't too many out on the road.
I dont know Paul, since you own a GTS, you need as a daily car the exact opposite category. So the replacement should be again a small hatchback with 4 comfortable seats, economic, easy to drive in city centers. The 911 sounds like the competitor of the amg...
Daily... It's basically a competitor to your GTS?
this car isn't in his budget, it was just to make a list of things he wants in his new daily
I would test drive cars within my budget for a new daily driver or you will end up wanting a car you can't afford.
Ok Sherlock !!!
was going to day the same thing!!
I was going to say the same thing as Joe.... not the next comment down...lol.... should read all comments first!!
why not replace the GTS and nuke for a 911 turbo S, this gives you the daily and performance car in one
Mark Hermens i would say turbo s is a downgrade from his gts, or on par maybe, if he was just sticking to one car it should be a definite upgrade in every way!
How is the 991 Turbo S a downgrade? Lmao. It's the benchmark.
First of all I think that a 911 would be a bit """boring""" mainly because of the look and second because there are so many Porsches around that it's almost a common car, it's not like "Oh god, look! A 911" (I'm not taking about GT3 RS or 918 of course lol), and second his GTS is quite a beast, especially after the Renntech upgrade (I mean, 610 bhp, if I'm not wrong, and the sound is really good) :)
ticcer than a walrus I just don't really see it as an upgrade to his gts, maybe on par
Boring car doe! The gts was a bad choice and it does not suit him at all.. I still do not get it why he had to sell the lambo.
The Porsche is better than his AMG GTS
2:04 "Insert music here..." Those shots would be so much more enjoyable if you would put a nice song under it! Let Mr JWW be your guide pls
Seeing as the clip is muted he probably meant to put music there put he either forgot it or the sound file screwed up.
yeah could be, just meant as positive criticism :)
The last video has a scene where happens the same...
he's done this on a few video's now
lol this is why i unsubscribed months ago....its not just a mistake on this video he sucks at editing every video...many better youtubers to watch for automotive content
I love the Porsche 911s, especially the Turbo S and Carrera!
NORPAD Productions so do I it's so cool!
NORPAD Productions I am Porsche fan
911 GT3 is my favorite for sure.
Would take it over e 911 Turbo without a doubt.
Sound, design, engine..
a pure driving machine. Absolutely love it.
yes! You can see so many in Germany but still it´s always a special moment when a 911 drives by. :)
That's true, you see so many in Germany and the Netherlands but seeing one never gets old.
Sell the AMG GT, buy a Porsche!
Ideally the upcoming GT3 (or even the current GT3 or GTS they are amazing)
+Dmitry L what about the new Porsche GT2 RS ?
No don't actually do that
Jorge Pinedo we don't know much about it, but I bet it will be way out of the budget...
If its the PERFECT daily...then buy it. Porsche is the tits.
he ain't got that money tho
Oh well then don't drive cars you can't afford lol He won't find anything like the porsche but it makes for a good video.
He drove the 911 to set a benchmark for his new potential dailies
Very good!
Justin Lovin
Anyone one else see the white 918?

maybe. But I'd be happier if Paul gets a Huracan sypder or a Aventador.
if he cant afford to put a carerra s in the budget i doubt a hurracan or aventador is in it. The m4 is probably the best looking touring car out there.
nope
Cody Whittington Black 911 Targa at 0:52💋💋💋💋💋💋✌🏿👅💋💋💋💋💋💋
If you dont want an Audi or Mercedes maybe go for Porsche Macan, Jaguar XE or F-Pace or Alfa Romeo Giulia?
Macan Turbo would be perfect.
Jere Ojala hes not looking for suv's
The XE S is beautiful and the 3 series killer!
great car, but still think you should buy a big estate car like a good second hand audi RS6 for like 7500£
Or a newer rs4 avant,n/a v8 that revs over 8000,what's not to like!
Part of having a daily is lowering your costs, a old RS6 doesn't make sense. A newer RS4 Avant makes sense a bit more if you want something fun but really a brand new car will be the best buy for him.
todd lithgow to big
don't buy it without sports egsaughst trust me iv got one
get new one old one waste of time
I must be the opposite, I loved Porsche until I bought the first gen 997 Carrera S and was the start of my nightmare, the first couple of months where fine until it started mis-firing, took it to a local Porsche specialist who diagnosed it as a cracked coilpack( exposed to high temperatures as its next to the exhaust). got that fixed and then a couple of months later I had the dreaded IMS bearing failure which resulted in a engine failure and needed a full engine re-build. What a car mate! Beautiful in every single way
My dream is to get a
G wagon AMG 63 obsidian black - Mercedes
BMW 5 series white
Any Porsche cuz that’s how good they are
he's absolutely correct when he states that a lot of people don't get the Porsche bug until they've driven one or ridden in one. it's not something you'll understand from watching UA-cam all day or looking at numbers.
THAT TARGA IN THE INTRO😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻🔫
Hey!

• Reliable
Some basic info about me to base your suggestions on:
• 6’9 tall so everything below a RS3 size wise is impossible
• A mildly varying montly net income of approximately 4,8k USD
• 25 years old
• Will drive between 9000 and 15000 miles a year
Would love to hear all of your opinions and suggestions!
Thanks!!
Get an F10 M5. you wont regret it, probably the best daily sports car for the price point
Adrian P right now the F10 isnt the best idea because the F90 is coming out in late 2017
Adrian P get the E63. 2014s are worth about 50-70k now. 676 hp according to motortrends dyno test
BMWs are unreliable while Porsches are similar to Lexus in terms of reliability
From working with Porsche, I would highly recommend the 981 Cayman GTS or a 991 gen 1 Carrera GTS as a daily car, the Cayman is only a 2 seater unlike the 911 but it's has more space for luggage and is cheaper in all aspects than the 911 and personally, I think it sounds better than the 911, the 911 is a good GT car and is reasonably practical, but definitely get the non turbo charged as they sound so much better. If it's sound you want, check out the Cayman GT4, that car is the best car Porsche make: practical, amazing to drive and sounds absolutely amazing!
i think he should get a c63s coupe
beast of a car
agree but its allmost as expensive as 911
he should go for the c43amg instead. it's still fast but cheaper to run and less expensive. the best would be the coupé as it is so beautiful!!!
What about the 500bhp Alfa saloon. Its very quick, sounds great, it has a boot and back seats for mates!
8:37 look at his face, omg I'm dead lol
It cracks me up when people call it a sports car and not a supercar. Half that of the Lamborghini Huracan and they will run neck & neck all day. But the Carrera S is more fun.
The BMW M2 would be a fantastic replacement, decent price point with amazing performance.
As i already told you on Twitter, you Could get an RS5. In germany used ones Cost like 35.000 Euros :)
Tommy Salvail can you just stop being useless
If you want a different brand from Audi, you can't go for a Volkswagen (e.g. Golf R) because they are nearly the same (Porsche, Audi, Lambo and VW are all in the Volkswagen Group!).

Bmw m4

ive got the first tts, a 2010.
Not reliable for a daily, maintenance too expensive as well.
Giancarlo Lugosi true but still a great none the less
Get the older Targa. That is the best one. It does everything you want, but the roof pops off for the summer days without being a full on convertible.
you should get the 911 targa 😍😍😍😲
Driven a GT3 RS, 991 C2S and 987.2 Cayman S. I am officially hooked on Porsches. They are magnificent.
C63?
Or a new c43 coupe even.
DixOutForHarambe S 63 Coupe
C63s Coupe
Harambae way too expensive
He said he doesnt want mercedes or audi
shots out to paul for asking the questions everybody on the internet already knows the answers to
Paul, there's a channel that has around 200 subs and is re-uploading all your videos, I advise you to take it down
The S550 coupé would be an awesome daily.
best daily in my eyes is the old C63 AMG estate
This car with the new Porsche Quad LED headlight setup with baby blue as the body colour, looks absolutely amazing!
BMW m140i!!!!!!!
I'm going to be hated for saying this, but personally I'd totally get a mk7 Golf GTI (or even GTI Clubsport)
Its more practical than any other car of this size, yet its properly fun to drive, and its refined, comfortable on motorways, has all the tech (like adaptive cruise control and proper infotainment system), easily tunable and cheap to run
Also, Golf R is a solid choice as well but I found the GTI a bit more fun to drive, although of course Golf R is a really capable car
The silent bits your doing in your videos nowadays is actually deafening
Please get the Porsche. The mods will be crazy and more exciting
Is this the same Porsche dealer where Shmee collected his GT4 ?
Emyr Ilhan sure is :)
The Porsche 911 carrera s looks amazing in white
Get a Golf R
vw makes a 300hp model now
Its slow
I had a 2015 gli autobahn and if you mess with the chip it will be stock 5.0 mustangs up to 80mph lol
yawn
yes, owning one is too much fun
yes it is.
Buy an M4. You never had an BMW it is very Price Stable and Looks stunning. When you buy an M4 buy it with the Competition Package. Handles alot better
I love Porsche. Every day I get to drive my Cayman S, it feels like it's my birthday; I will always have a Porsche till the day I die
Alfa Giulia quadrifoglio?
Maybe the new Subaru WRX Sti? It's an awesome car that is good looking, not very expensive, has a good amount of power and it's very fun to drive. I would also recommend the EVO X but if you are looking for a new car than Subaru is the one.
Carrera a beefed up version of A1.....quite a statement.
The BMW Alpina D3. No brainer (for me atleast) if your looking for a daily. Looks good, quality interior, drives great, great power (345HP and 700NM torque) and it a diesel, so you can expect it to have decent amount of range. You can also have it in a estate.
there is only one option: Porsche
One of the older 6.2L C63. Perfect Daily.
the ultimate daily? thats easy, a maserati gran turismo s or mc stradale... You can NOT beat it !
RazorFX they cost a lot. Even a 2008 costs a lot
+jamjax still less than a 911
jamjax nah
A 2009 GT S costs around 60K
a brand new Porsche Boxster S costs the same
I have the 2015 M3 , it's the closest to perfection car in my opinion
price is reasonable for the performance and pedigree you get, 4 doors , plenty of space ,good fuel economy, great looks. the ride is taut and on the firm side. steering feel transmission and suspension each has three levels so you can choose different driving scenarios
over reactions for the win
"It has windows all around"
Not every car has that obviously. This one is truly unique.
take an Alfa Giulia quadrifoglio is great
I agree that the Porsche makes amazing cars but I just don't find them that fun to watch on UA-cam
I still don't know your maximum budget. I think you're going to end up buying a Tesla, it's a good car to cruse and accelerate when you need it. Interiors are really good, same about the look, infotainment and new technologies... what do you think about it?

there are a lot of options paul. I think you should go for a hothatch or a porsche.
notification squad!
How about a Golf 5 R32? It may be a bit aged, but the 6-cylinder is just amazing!
BMW M4
the new BMW M2. it is fast, nimble, practical and stunning
:D
Ozot Va svensk Lmao bro :)
i dont know your price range but ... i think porsche is a good brand ... its realible and very well build ... but .. you said that you drove your family with a1.. and it this it a bit imposible so i would suggest (if you can afford it) porsche macan or audi rsq3, or low milage used panamera ... its also a pors but you will get a lot more practical car ... you can maybe even find panamera turbo

The new RS3 or an M4
MegaAlex5 No.
You should go drive a Cayman GTS model 2014-2015 :-) you will fall in love with it !
Edit: in the caymans you have storage space in the front & in the back so that's good to ^^
Golf R , RS3 , TTRS , Alfa

Paul is still the true legend! Love his raw style videos. 🦅🦅🇺🇸
Paul - do an ultimate daily sports car for under 20k! That would be epic!
2015 Carrera GTS...very practical and really quick, and has better sound.
Had a Golf R for a week in Cape Town. Very fast, comfortable, capable and practical. Four wheel drive is amazing and it sounds incredible. Please take a look.
Got a question for you Paul:
If you did not own the AMG GTS but had the funds for either a new AMG GTS or a new Porsche 991.2 Carrera S would you still have gone for the AMG?
Also, might I suggest that you do a comparison between both your AMG GTS and the Porsche 991.2 Carrera S as they are most definately 2 cars that would have to be cross shopped often. I guess the only issue is that your car is already tuned so the comparo would be somewhat unfair.....but I am sure it would be easy enough to find a stock GTS to test.
Whilst your at it though why not do a test between you're previous Lambo and new Revo AMG GTS.
Anyways mate, love your channel, very jealous and keep up the good work :)
Regards
Pat
Awwww, the targa behind in the first minutes of the video is just perfect everyday driver
Gtr/C63/BMW M3 one of them! Good luck
I would say go for a BMW M car. They look good, they look good inside, it gives u comfort and it gives u the performance. It's a barging car ;)
Have you think of the CLA45 Shooting Brake in Spider Red with night package. It has sufficiently storage space and quite unique that there weren't too many out on the road.
I would love to have a Porsche! It's my dream car manufactuer!
Everybody loves Porsche
If you look for a Cayman/Boxster get the old 981 because of the 6cyl engine
All I can say is DUH! Paul. Come on, Porsche....There is NO substitute!!!
I personally think that an M3 would be pretty sweet!! 🏎
mazda mx5 the new one especially looks great
I wasn't expecting it to have windows all round
The new RS3 Sedan or Limousine is such an amazing car! You should testdrive that!
After spotting an M2 the other day, I would say get one of those, they look awesome!
I dont know Paul, since you own a GTS, you need as a daily car the exact opposite category. So the replacement should be again a small hatchback with 4 comfortable seats, economic, easy to drive in city centers. The 911 sounds like the competitor of the amg...
Carrera is one of the best names for a car ever
John Wick because it just is
Audi (TTRS) gage cluster! OMG beautiful car!
