    That's good info Randy...right on point. I fished dale hollow for first time this year. it was hot and nasty, and water is like 12 ft visibility..crazy clear. I couldn't figure them out. Finally I went off a main lake point where sulfur creek hits main lake, and I started catching some fish about 15 ft down. Not on drops, but on any irregular structure just like you said. Water so clear, sometimes grass grows deep like 12ft+. I found a clump of some kind of grass on my fish finder. Id drag a bitsy bug up to the grass, then get it kinda hung in it and shake it. like 12-15 ft down... and bang!!! same thing with rock piles or brush. i'd scan around the point, look for that 12-18 ft zone with any kinda junk... and get a bite when i'd put a dropshot on it or a finesse jig. Your info was spot on. I only had one good blow up on topwater, early am, and it was a rock bass.....but i honestly didnt fish much topwater...i only threw a smaller plopper around a lil bit. Prolly woulda done well with a walking bait or pop-r.

    Still waiting on the chalkboard to show how to position boat, how to use the wind, directions to cast, etc. 😀 Should they be fished from shallow to deep, perpendicular to the bank?

    • @nathanellis914
      @nathanellis914 3 роки тому

      In summer you gotta bring it from shallow to deep

      Set up facing the wind direction, cast into the wind. If your having trouble casting into the wind then your facing the correct direction. The more uncomfortable you are the better. Trust me

    I really appreciate that you discuss all the different variables that contribute to finding the bass. But honestly, I usually go out and just watch the water, wind, weather, and wildlife. See what's happening. Then I'll try different techniques until I find what works for that particular time and place. I find if I over-analyze, I don't have the same enjoyment. And isn't that what it's all about.

    I enjoyed to fish secondary points in summer , that top water action is something that makes walking the dog worth the time to master .just fits my style like jerk baits an smallmouth .I think large bass feed mostly at night .we can take advantage of this an target the rocks an ridges in morning for lingering fish before they move deep for the day

    I have a point I fish every time I go out. It's my first spot to get a feel for what kinda mood the fish are in then I go off that. It generally good for at least a decent fish. Now it's time to find more close just like it.

    Almost right. Lanier is on fire in may not June. Why? Because of th primary forage here. We have them on clarkshill ,hartwell and Russell. I've never heard of them on any other lake. Guess what they are.

    When those allergies start kicking in, start using Flonase daily. It takes a few days for it to start working but it has worked wonders for me. It helps if you start using it before the allergies get real bad.

    • @jamesf1525
      @jamesf1525 3 роки тому +1

      No. I've caught fish on points with scattered small rocks, not large ones and also on clay points with nothing on them. I think it depends on the body of water & what's available to the fish.
