Real tears have fallen from my face! This lot was the BEST TOP5 ! I may be bias based on how much I love the album. I knew that was gonna be the list and had an inkling Ms Julie would put Deeper than Rap on her list but the boys wouldn’t have it. Repeat? Why no KOFFEE!? Ugh! Hi Julie, I wanted to wait for this entire season to finish before I gave you some feedback,
Firstly you really upped the levels with the look, sound quality, feel, animations etc for this season of the show, and as a viewer and fan of the series that is something I could really notice. However some of my feeling from when you announced that this season would focus on albums rather than the artists whole discography have stuck with me right until the finale. Im not sure if I can speak for the whole fanbase but it almost feels to easy to make a top 5 list from the album, my favourite moments from this show thus far are ones like when jammer made a top 12 of Wiley songs or the moment of realisation in the jorja smith episode that a banger like teenage fantasy wouldn't make the final list or Barney in the heat of trying to cover multiple eras of kanos career ended up making a horrible list. Its those elements of intense decision making over a musicians entire life work which provide the stakes.
I will add that this episode specifically (where you cover a artist new work since the original J Hus top 5 episode) is a really original idea, maybe a spin off show where you revisit a artist new album who have already had the entire top 5 covered would be a nice addition.
At the end of the day I'm not the creative team behind this show, Julie and Callum are doing a great job and its no wonder different outlets are using this concept for themselves.
