- This video is one in a series of nursing simulation scenarios created to educate nursing students and refresh new practicing nurses about situations they could encounter in practice in a simulated context. Complete information about this scenario, from set-up to debriefing questions, can be found at www.montgomeryc...
Montgomery College's nursing program currently enrolls 300 students annually at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. Students who successfully complete the nursing curriculum earn an associate of science degree (A.S.) in nursing and are qualified to take the examination to be licensed as a registered nurse. The nursing program also participates in the Maryland Articulation Model, which allows students to transfer to a four-year state college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in nursing. All of the critics chill. They are nursing STUDENTS. Hence that means their learning by making mistakes. Some ppl are so annoying😒. Great job guys!!
they did it perfectly fine. anyone who has actually worked a code in real life knows there are always slight hick-ups. shit happens
@@garrettessary1350 The first nursing student DID check the pulse!! Not the pulse you expected but he DID check the carotid pulse. FOH!!
Finally someone checked the carotid pulse, ive always seen nurses checking the other pulse:/
Thank you, bunch of internet providers. cpr has around a 10% chance, it's really just to show the family we did we could.
never thought of that this could happen with relatives still in the room!
good demonstration
I wanted to note that in every hospital I've ever worked in (TX), every bed's headboard can be used as a backboard for CPR. A backboard is on the side of the crash cart, but it's great to have one in every hospital room with a bed in it to enable effective chest compressions.
I've never seen that
Great job and use of simulation to help prepare them for the profession!
I watched this video and actually cried- the point where there was a rhythm and when they all got back to the class and the clapping
It wasn't real lol
They clapped because they did a good job.
omgggggg!!!!! why does this look soooo fun and intriguing!!!!!! nursing is my passion! i cant wait to do sim lab and until nursing school starts! 10 more days!!!!!
donnsha hollis how’s nursing school going?
Yes it does looks really interesting
@Andrew Delmonico yep first and every code is organised chaos
Well how was it? Did you finish? Did you liked it?
Great job!! Thank you for the video.

do most nursing schools have this type of simulation? seems fun to practice! starting my prereqs in jan!
nursing simulations scenario Montgomery college realy excellent.
my goodness running and saying " we are having a code blue" to the bystanders clearly wrong
well she asked hahahha
Tasha smith eyyyy calm down. She makes a valid point
Why?
@@aaronjames3228 we are trying not to draw so much attention to get more space during codes... and... No bystanders allowed ☺️
@@TheMafeighnAs a bystander it is not my prerogative to get involved when the professionals are on top of the situation.
Awesome demonstration! Thank you!
nicely done.. except we actually dont stop cpr when "Charging", and yes there's no cardiac board.

Gosh I miss in-person nursing school!
At Regions hospital we heard Segel 72 for a person take a turning for the worst-case in surgery room
Congratulations! Guys.i really like this simulation scenario.
Love the team work. Good job
NICE JOB
hey im a nurse im gonna help him lmaoooooooo
Lol lmao
I do my Sims lab this Friday I’m so excited! ☺️
I think I need CPR help 😗
question the patient, start cpr, epiPen injection, resume cpr
good job but I did notice one minor problem as they sanitised they hands was couple of them touched were the gel is ejected from now we're I work is a no no as this can transfer bacteria to the gel dispenser a hand should be placed under but not touching but a fantastic code red drill excellent team work
code blue and agreed!
Awesome students!!!!
Great job soldiers. I am proud to be a nurse .
so is this what called code blue? so its a procedure right? to save the patient?
They are practicing
I went into code blue and never made it out im sending this from the other side
well done
This is really good,
[Patient name], what does the scanner say about your heart rate?
How a DBZ fan would ask for a report
All he wanted was some ice chips
let me say the beginning made me laugh so hard I couldn't stop laughing
Lmao me too. I hope we get intense scenes like this in my nursing school.
I want more video Simman family
I am so impressed great job!!!!
haha l love how a girl is just standing at the top of the bed just looking ahah
You got a rhythm, never checked a pulse, congratulations, your patient is in PEA.
Nebur Nynhs lol
Nebur Nynhs what is pea
Its Pulseless Electrical Activity. Basically they are dead and have no pulse but they have electricity so the monitor reads the patient as normal even though patient is dead.
@Your President lol and the chest rise and fall. the key which they did was early cpr and defibrillation
Where is this college at, and do they have a nursing campus in Manhattan N.Y.?
When he didn’t find a pulse he should have started compressions and not asked if he can hear him
Good job girls, very good job, keep up the good work nurses
Nichol R Spearman not all nurses r girls
What happened?
Who is functioning as Recorder?
02:35
I wish my school did this lol we would have a ball!
They called a code blue
All the smiles and laughs😑
HeY i Am A NurSe I CaN hELp hIm lmao
This just happened to my school today like it goes on the speaker "code blue at 130"
Why has this happened to him?
*um, im not sure*
Hahaha. Need to work on therapeutic communication skills...
Great job Montogomery! But YA NEED BACKBOARD OR YOUR COMPRESSIONS ARE GOING TO WASTE!!
they put one
@@oliviafigliomeni5849 exactly bc compressions are better than no compressions. don't delay compressions, eventually got a back board, early cpr and early defibrillation!
we got a beat
yeah we got a beat
no,ok i stop
3:29 I'm sorry but the patient still looked lifeless after the "successful" code...
It's a doll 💀
Those compressions Dr. Mike be like Chest compres- ~Gets cut off coz of how fake they are~
I have acls
You need the back board dude....
You were not watching
1:48-1:52. They were so smooth you didn't see it. :)
Hey I’m a nurse I’m gonna help in a nutshell: hey I’m a murderer 😏 I can help you know mean
One hour later: man who killed everyone in hospital is now in prison on the other hand...
25,23,24,28,30 lmaooooo Nursing Math
Cheryl b24 ❤❤❤❤❤happy
@1.45 she seriously had time to wash her hands....they wont make it in the real world
In real code blues you need to get there in less than a second and set up in less than a minute this was too slow lol
While I get that in real Life most probably an intern or medical resident will probably be the one taking the lead....I think that here what happened is that there was not really a clear leader and instructions were not clear.
I was tought that the moment you announce the Code Blue you should be in less than 5 seconds starting compressions since the Nurses will alert the rest of the personnel and at least 5 people will come to participate in the code blue.
For some reason I thought only doctors wore white coats.. I didn't know nurses do as well.
did i just hear "im not sure" from a nurse's mouth in this video???? lmao. no. oh hell no!!!
Maybe that wasn't assigned patient. It seems that her duty was just to comfort the family member. The rest would be sure as to what happened.
If I recall correctly, her assigned role was the chaplain. So when the family member asked why did this happen as a chaplain you wouldn't know why.
No CPR board???
Jackson Grainger 1:53
@@chanelstokes7445 Should be under patient before starting chest compressions. Removable headboard on the bed could've been used.
Crying over a dummy sus
😀😁
Runnnn
The girl who did the cpr was too fast.. U need to let the chest recoil properly and ensure you don't fracture the ribs
That last parts ridiculous. If you're doing effective CPR you will almost always fracture ribs.
Hhhhhhhh they're chocolate
That was awful, if you want to see a good example without shouting etc see rests UK.
