First Look: Heathkit IB-1103 Frequency Counter

Thanks for showing it off. I just picked up an 1102 and wanted to see what other faults people are seeing. You sound like "The Dude" from Big Lebowski. ;)

Hmmm. You could make a digital multimeter with an esp8266 or something, but use a pwm output to drive the frequency counter as a generic nixie tube display......

But there's no way to sync with the counter's gate timing...
How about a Fluke 8300 instead?
