I love the promo for "It's a Wonderful Life" on Family Channel. Those were the days when it was in the public domain and you could see it all December long on about a dozen different channels.
This says a lot, when what amounted to an electronic version of TV Guide is remembered more fondly than some of the shows listed here. I have to admit I could and did spend quite a bit of time just watching Prevue Guide! Also, I love that the full version of the "planet Earth" ID is here (later versions cut it off a few seconds early).
man i loved the prevue so much i would watch this for hours of the day. 2:02 was one of my favorite reason for watching the prevue guiide so much ^_^_^_^_^_^
I love stuff like this! I can remember watching this format of the Prevue guide in around 1992 or so but it was just the electronic scrolling guide and did not have the top video preview portion. It just had music with it.
Wow...the world before 1990...! This was 1 year and 5 months before I was born, and I'm getting to be an old guy. They used to pronounce "family" with three syllables!
oh god, purolator ads REALLY bring back old 80's memories, i remember purolator the most by their envolvement in NASCAR at the time, i think it's known as FRAM now, not sure though.
In McHenry County, Woodstock And McHenry Never Had A Prevue Guide Until 1997, While Crystal Lake, Cary, Algonquin, And Huntley Had Prevue Guides Since March 1993.
I wasn't born on this date but I have ridden in a BMW driven by someone born on 12/12/1988. My birthday is 12/25/1992 by the way. March 11, 2015 2:48 am

This brings back great memories. A time before the internet when TV was fantastic.
That Showtime music at 0:33 is a thing of absolute beauty! Why can't we have awesome music on TV anymore?
SouthwesternEagle Miss those days!
The first recording of Program guide with the name Prevue Guide (so far as of 9/10/2023.)

It was known as the EPG Sr., if running on an Amiga 1000, and EPG Jr., if running on an Atari 8-bit.

You're not alone!
@davismv Actually in that phase of prevue guide wasn't it called EPG- Electronic Program Guide?
What channel was PREVUE in 1988 and 1991???
Star Trek IV - Nice! Much better than Superman IV (shudders)
This is from 1988. I just checked the date on my iCal program on my Computer.
BET has changed a little bit 1:16.
Was CBN & the Family Channel about ready to merge? Seemed like saw both CBN & Family Channel promos, but today it's ABC Family.
To all that asked for more EPG / Prevue Guide, I have two new videos posted from 1987 as of today.
