Actually though.
This version fills me with soo much life. I love Joker and Harley's relationship. It's obviously toxic, but it's toxic in a way that's believeable, because Joker gives her a larger-than-life experience with his crimes and adventures. And Amanda was right when she said Harley was crazier than Joker, because Joker had no choice but to give up on his previous life and give in to madness. Harley sees this and actively chooses to be insane.

Harley was born in a abusive family so maybe she was used to abusive people. Joker is one of them, so maybe one of the reasons she didn’t leave him was bc of reliant tendencies.People who are born in abusive families have a fear of leaving their families behind bc their abusers has made them believe that they are the only ones they can be reliant on.
@@wickedlavender she was tortured these other ppl have created a fantasy for being ok with such a toxic relationship. She fell for him after being tortured to insanity and thrown into a vat of w.e makes their skin white etc. if ppl read the whole storyline in the comics they would get why Harley needs poison ivy and cat woman [who have flaws but men aren’t one] in the later story to get over the abuse the joker puts her through. And to accept she was abused and that’s the only reason she even chases behind him. It’s sad birds of prey missed the opportunity to tell this story. But your correct she only loves him because she was tortured too.

I’m a therapist at an institution. I’m in my 20s. I did all the right things in life- masters, job, house. No man or kids, just work. It’s emotionally draining and burnout is crazy. Every day feels the same. So I relate SO MUCH when I think about how Joker came into Harley’s life when she was probably feeling this exact way. Suddenly life was more exciting. It didn’t matter if it was toxic, because it was SOMETHING. It’s hard to be an adult and truly feel, deeply, something worth taking risk for. This song made me emotional thinking about it.
