I own a Bonneville. I can vouch for Triumph quality and attention to detail anyday....ifffff it is carried forward through Bajaj to the 400. I've had a Triumph for 8 years. Never changed a part.
Yes the new Bajaj triumph has triumph build quality which is said by every review
X440 looks meaty, whereas Speed400 looks compact & neat.
they have to, cause right now, a cheap harley sticker on the tank is not worth the 3L they asking@stefanslegostopmotion1827
Harley is a bigger threat. Glad they are coming to the market with a far more capable motorcycle than the classic. Triumph is the replacement for the older KTM/pulsar riders.
After taking trial of all 3 I have booked HD x440. It also has parts which are expected to be better but still when it comes to engine thump and long rides it offer shear comfort. Triumph is good for the people who wants to have speed at the top of their game. Triumph buit quality is better than HD(or Hero Davidson). Everyone knows about classic they might improve after facing some competition but still for people RE is purely emotion. Choose any bike you won’t go wrong either
Agar Dost Acchhi jagah Job karte ho to milta he😅@@vishalgaikwad5056
Triumph can become the segment king due to its overall balanced package
nah. Its a good launch but its becoming overrated. Its good for the price but the price is low cause its recently launched. If it costs 3 to 4lakhs in future it will be another average bike. Also we dont now the outcoming for this bike yet. No one own the bike, and we dont know how would be the service for it. So we need to wait to see it in a year or 2. 😊 And Im sure in 1 year or 2 we will have a lot of incredible launches
also, Im not that into the looks of this bike. Its so not impressed, same pattern of Hunter's paint, a simple tank design, classic looks like 80% of the other bikes with classic looks. Im considering buy the Vitpilen and waiting for the 401 because per my taste it looks better
@@rocka07We can only judge bike by its current price and not your hypothesis.
@@surajtomar4870ha ha ,truely said. Maybe the prices will come down to owning a splendor plus.😂
on paper Triumph looks more promising over Harley but when you ride harley x440 you realize it has more character 😉
Not enough power, shoddy looking build, heavy, it will bore quicker.
You guys soaked up in n still gave us a cool comparison along with scenic beauty, really appreciable 👏
Reminds me of the time when you guys did a comparison between The meteor, Hness and Imperiale. The video quality level has stayed on top 👍
Triumph Speed 400 is my choice. In terms of looks, style and performance, this bike is a great option to choose among its rivals. Harley doesn't look like a retro bike, but a modern classic urban bike. RE doesn't has a style, just a plain look from front to rear. From price point of view also, Triumph looks good.
Hats off to you guys for bringing this video despite heavy rain
I guess harley should have had a 150/160 section rear tyre..not sure if that 140 section does full justice to its body.
Yeah. Harleys are known for their big fat tyres too. But I guess they'll reserve that for the rumoured nightster which will apparently look like an american cruiser. I guess they wanted the first bike to be an allrounder to make a presence in the market.
They are saying it's already able to scrape its footpegs, why does it need bigger tyres. More weight and less mileage, other than some looks
Tire size also changes driving. It could be that a fatter tire changed the agility too much
Great video like as always. Hats off to y'all for making such video even in that heavy rain 💪Respect
Didn't mind the Rain sound at all.... It gave a calming effect, use more engine riding sounds and the rain the next time it's raining while you shoot, feels so much more connected
Insightful, so much told in such short time in a beautiful way. Great work and a great video.
Hatsoff for shooting this video in the rain. Rare to see such commitment and quality of content!!
I feel these 3 motorcycles have different character of their own. Classic 350 being a retro cruiser creates its dominance with its looks and feel with the rider, S400 looks more of a modern scrambler which can come close to the D390, X440 is best of both the worlds with its classic styling and the nature of a cruiser. Anything for me which came close to Classic 350 was highness. But as the video said X440 has to be the close competitor, hoping to ride one soon 🤞
there's nothing scrambler like with the s400, don't simply throw big words around
@@General_Li_Shin Looks are subjective. There arent big words, these are my personal views. You can go p on your personal streams.
Kudos to the team for make this video. Really appreciate the efforts!
I am not much of a bike person. I'm a car enthusiast through and through. But this review is kickass. Kudos to the whole team for the commitment
Appreciate the effort which your team has put in for making such awesome video 😍👏
Thank you guys ❤️.
Cool cinematography ✅
Good editing and great choice of background music by the editor instead of the upbeat trans, rap, metal bullshit ✅
Detailed comparison, good narration and great hosting by my man Rishad ✅
Good audio ✅
Thank you team....it was a really well made video....👏👏
Awesome video, very informative and enjoyable. Thanks!
Thank you for your efforts!! Much appreciated !!
This is the only unbiased video on UA-cam till date.
U must have included Honda highness as well it would have been a great contender among these 3
I guess Autocar wanted to have this battle btwn the best seller of the segment & these 2 newcomers.
@@Amory98 i own hero honda splendor thats atleast 25 years and its done 4 lakh kms. I also own an RX100 and KTM 390. I regret buying KTM cuz i had to open up the engine at around 40,000km. Honda is too good with its quality, they may charge a bit high but quality is upto mark
@@pinkesh2703ur statement is like telling to compare Honda to a Maruti just bcoz Maruti is best selling in segment..
I love my classic 350 chrome red.completed 11000kms in 1 year.that too with a busy job.taking out only once in 2 months for 500 kms to 1500kms trips.
really appreciate your work not even monsoon can stop you hatts offfff ........❤
Truimph for sure leads in Finish, looks, suspension, handling and performance !!
Exactly 💯
I wish it had Retro/Cruiser looks,
foot pegs as well as better positioned exhausts to fit Panniers on both sides to suit my taste. 😎
I wish the seats were bit bigger and longer. Looks and feels so small
That's quite insightful about 3 bikes
Well shot , well presented, totally a genuine review
Cheers 👍🏻
Also, unpopular opinion, the Harley looks the best
@@idrisahmed2659you ain't gonna look good on Triumph when you hit 40-45 age, on other two you will
@@edugarciahernandez2327how long do you intend to use the bike 😂
(as long as you look good at 40, then triumph looks better)
Thank You Autocar❤ For Such A Lovely Content. Thank You Team Autocar🙏🏻
Thank for this excellent comparisson! I would only have preferred to see the Hunter 350 instead of the Classic 350, since it is more on the segment of the others two. The Hunter has other ECU program and much more modern/retro look as the others.
I feel like when you sit on it the harley looks really good. If you add in saddle bags the look would really come together i think. And im really digging how the engine feels.
If u add a Keeway V 302 to this mix, which one do u suggest one should go for?
beautiful camera work, great video
Enfield's look is like that one friend who always wears the same outfit to every party, while the other two are the life of the fashion fiesta! It's like a 'boring vs. stylish' showdown. BTW all three are small and so is the price 🙌🏻
This man has become my favourite reviewer, just love this man
Your efforts Are really beautiful....and showing to happy a lot of options
Really enjoyed that. Good stuff
Honda cb 350 had to be here. Royal Enfield's is clearly an substandard product in this segment.
Nice review! As I had said earlier, I want to see a comparison between HD 440 and Classic 500 as they are very closely matched in performance and abilities. I can give you my Classic 500 for that comparison. Thank you:)
Most awaited video 👍 Thanks😊
@ Autocar why isn't the honda h'ness cb 350 included in this comparison video?
after watching all this ,i still stick with Hness or CB 350RS. the real king of reliability and Refinement on Segment❤❤
That triumph looks sweet, I was waiting for a husky Norden 401, but this one has a good balance of retro look with modern performance, if only the exhaust had a sound like the HD
Finally, got this video I was eagerly waiting for! Thanks
Neat & clean video
Enjoyed the video but the team is soo dedicated and hardworking🥺…
Take care guys…
Just a personal opinion
if you are looking for more of a performance oriented bike which looks good you can go for triumph
(Looks really rich)
If you need somewhere a mixture of performance and character you can go for harley (not sure but as per other review it carry character from original Harley )
And if you looking for something retro yet comfortable and performance is not a major concern (acceleration ,cornering or top speed wise)
Where you get a better service network and reliability
You can go for classic or meteor
i think if u just add a good aftermarket exhaust to the triumph it may just add some character to it
In terms of classic retro vibes and cost no one can beat Royal Enfield yes honda hness could give good competition but here Nepal. Honda hness is too expensive..
I was eagerly anticipating his review.👌
My dad owns the RE Classic 350cc 2016 model but we both agree Harley is at a whole different standard and workmanship
This segment has other motor cycle like Yezdi Roadster,
Honda Hness CB350,Benelli Imperiale 400, Benelli Leoncino 500, Jawa Forty Two & standard even though some has more cc then others but it will quit even match at cost they offer in India. @AutoCar INDIA looking forward for this... hope you guys can do it....
I love both Harley and triumph. Please don't campare them. It is individual option to pick one. I think one should go to show room and take decision
Great bikes reviewed wonderfully in heavy rain! Now, that was lovely! 😌
Yes this was the video I was talking about last time you had RE vs Triumph.
Sirji please include CB 350 Highness also in the comparison.
Aside from being closely matched in price, I don't see how these bikes are even in the same realm of comparison. It's like comparing tea(RE) to coffee(H-D) and orange juice(Triumph). All great morning drinks but were mostly a tea-drinking nation here.
A decade ago I would jump at the chance to ride a bike like the Speed 400, but now in my mid 30s, the heart just thumps slowly for the RE.
Just my two paises.
Exactly....I'm 39 and planning to buy a second bike but now I'm totally confused between the classic 350 & speed 400
Spot on summary....!!! Tea, coffee and orange juice.
All three are great, have a separate craving and therefore, separate market/customer base. Quite difficult to pick out a clear winner based on facts, figures and price tags. Buyers with cash to venture in this segment mainly consider the feel, convenience and peace of mind. Spec sheets do take a back seat while making a purchase decision.
A big shout out to Autocar India Team to complete the shoot in such a rainy condition considering that motorcycles & riders are most vulnerable on wet patches.
X440 is definitely the most underrated bike currently, its really good!!
Liked for your great work
Waiting for scrambler 400.... can't deny triumphs quality❤
I feel the Honda H’ness CB 350 makes a strong case for itself when compared to the three bikes mentioned in this video, in terms of reliability, fuel efficiency and engine smoothness.
But brother i think look wise majority people don't select Honda.
@@rahulparmar3410honda has the best looks..it is a complete head turner
But in highness/RS low end torque is less is high gears..You cant ride in city under 40km/h even in 3rd gear as the engine will start to knock..And in 4th gear it cant ride below 60 without clutch assist..Also the pillion comfort is average and you will get soaked in mud in a rainy day..The good things about highness are vibration free engine, light clutch, precise gearing and great ride control..The lazy middle age gang who like to ride slowly even in 5th gear may not like CB 350 and its nature..Its for those who are little more aggressive..
I know it from the beginning and choose a meteor instead. All honda fans trapped.
Most awaited video ❤
The video we needed and deserved
Great efforts by the camera crew to bring such nicely rounded video. Sweet verdict which highlights each and every bikes strengths and differentness to suit different tastes! Let there be more colors!😊
bring two more REs into the comparison , i would still choose the triumph
it offers so much for such a small price an quality too
That umbrella sound is giving the feeling like I am actually there.
Wow most awaited video.
How come no one is bothered about the cb350 in this category and price, is it not good enough for this comparison?
Even though its an amazing bike it hasnt really made a dent in classic sales
Wonder why Cb350 form honda was not even included . It s very different than RE 350 cc bikes in all the dept .
For once, I’ve put my money on the right stuff. Thank you, this was a very good and fair way to put the comparisons.
Liked for entire team to struggling the rain 🌧️ and complete your work ❤
In 3-4 years I'll purchase all these three beauties. Hopefully they will be more refined by then.
@autocar why you missed Hness CB350, you should add that too in the comparison…
The best and most comprehensive review
The video I was waiting for
Can't wait for the 400x scram version
that RE does looks Classic ;)
Wonderful review 👏👏👏
Wonderful review 😃
Honda highness is respected contender for such comparo! Do try to include it next time please!
Is CB 350 H'ness, not in the race ?
Sir at what average speed is the mileage tested.
Most awaited one
Nothing can replace the REs postwar design, even now when removing the back seat ,the smile on our face that's the bike to be on.
Now we need a comparison between the Dominar 400 and the Speed 400 to end this segment comparos once and for all
A sweet comparison
170kmph is huge. That 6th Gear in S440 makes all the difference wrt top speed I guess. RE should've given it all of their bikes.
RE classic should have a single seat not a split… will surely be a killer look…and yeah the exhaust..what if it shares with meteor🧐
Maybe only to me…
You should have added the Honda hiness 350 in this video
impressive work in the worst rain I've seen during a UA-cam review. You are the best proof that all weather is motorcycle weather. In that connection, I missed a little more talk about the tires' performance on wet roads.
Appreciate the effort in rain !
Should Have Brought the Honda CB350 RS or Hiness 350 for the comparison
Triumph is simply built different!
Classic review and camera
❤❤THE VIDEO AM WAITING FOR❤❤
Harley hiked the price by 10.5k on all variants without even delivering a single bike, anyone saying it was an introductory price it was never mentioned anywhere during launch or afterwards
It was always clearly mentioned on the website and during the launch event...the price hike is done to accommodate the Nightster 440 launch which will happen in October
@@divyambhatia6542 it was never mentioned on the website untill recently
Should’ve included Highness as well
I would go for the speed 400 bcoz of it's compact nature and smooth and powerful performance
In the performance test figures, did you guys use VBOX test suite or just relayed on speedo indicated speed?
Coz in video you said that triumph has significant speedo error.
I initially disliked how the Harley looked. But the looks have grown on me. Also, seeing the bike side by side with the Triumph and RE, it looks pretty huge!! Also, props to the reviewer, one of my fav motorcyle reviewers in the country ❤
Same hear. First i dislike it because i don't give proper attention. After watching properly in 3-4 Videos i started liking it. Currently i don't require this much costly and high power bike ( and also afford 😅 ) but in future maybe 2-3 year i consider it.
But it has very ugly stock silencer i have ever seen.
@@rahulparmar3410 Hope you get to buy your dream bike some day brother ❤
@@nishantjaikari2484 You're right, but i really don't mind that silencer anymore. I can understand if a potential buyer doesn't want to buy the bike because of that. But if the bike gives the owner the feel good emotion of owning such a bike, then its a win. I think the Harley has that character.
@@MegaRohan1987 all three bikes are good in their own ways. But Harley's will be the last choice for most buyers because of its unique futuristic design just like Husqvarna market.
