It's amazing these games work so well after all this time but I suppose they were built with quality parts. I was 14 when I had this in 1981. I never knew about the adapter so I'd spend my pocket money on batteries which never lasted very long. I seen one today in a charity shop but someone had already paid for it.
I played mine to death, I think it died in 1989, something melted inside....loved it though keep hoping to see one going relatively cheap. Im also after a grandstand munchman, another thing I grew up with :)
For its time it was pretty damn good and something only the spoiled rich bastards could afford lol. My uncle had one as he was one of those spoiled rich bastards. I picked up one of those lcd puck monster games about a decade back for the massive price of a fiver. still have it somewhere. 90% of lcd games are dirt cheap even today. Its a great thing to collect as they have just as much nostalgia value as the consoles but are a lot more overlooked purely as they weren't as graphically impressive
You've lost your retro skills 😆 . Great game this was a big part of my childhood 6 years old when grandad puff puff bought me this. Called grandad puff puff cos he smoked 🚬 like a chimney. I picked one of these up today boxed with instructions for 20 quid from a charity shop as they couldn't sell it on the shop without pat testing. Usually they just chuck them online so I was lucky it worked 💪
First view and first comment nice pick up I had one as a kid keep the vids coming would like to see a colab with gameboysareawrsom and maby a colab with holster TV too
The sound just brought back so many memories playing this...

Former Doctor Who David Tennant had this game when he was a boy.
Saw that on Facebook a couple days ago and that's how I ended up here!
I WAS GLUED TO THIS GAME AS A WEE BOY
Gutted I sold this, got above market value at the time, but still :(
Must fire mine up again, missing battery cover but in decent shape otherwise. Also got the Scramble version which is not as good IMO.
correction I had the black and white version not the colour one
they never did it in black and white
