This was a group where every member could actually have been a lead singer. Their problem was they had the misfortune of coming along at the height of New Jack Swing which relied on good producing (Teddy Riley) and not good singing. These brothers could blow, but their songs didn't fit with the mainstream. It's a shame because their first album was a masterpiece. These brothers could be superstars today.
@@joshuaaskew5598 AARON & CHRIS WILLIAMS W.Y.PLAYIN WERE THE ONLY TRUE Blue SANGING SINGERS OF THAT ERA. SORRY But I have to Agree with the other Guy who commented on here ..RIFF was the 💩 BUT THEY unfortunately got lost in the sauce of all the "Other" Black Boy Bands /Groups of that Era btwen '1989-1995. If they had the Right PROMOTION/Promotors /Producers MANN THESE Cats woulda have prob 2-7 Albums out by now. I think their label SBK Records JUST didn't know how to Properly market/promote them💁💁💁💁.
@@joshuaaskew5598 Yes Aaron Hall could sing, but it was Teddy's lyrics that moved him. Take away Teddy and where would Arron be? And to be real, Damon had a better voice..
So talented so underated they didnt get the credit or exposure they deserved it makes me sad because the music of today can't even measure to what we had growing up in the 90s
I think low key their Management wanted Mike Best to be the "RONNIE DeVOE'" of the RIFF Group. If you look at a few of their past videos ,just pay attention to him it's like he was trying to tap into some of Ronnie's animated "Mannerisms".😆.Im NOT hating at All ,I just think it's cute bc apparently N.E MUST have had some form of a Strong profound influence over them.
Man I miss this era of music so much! Whenever I listen to this song and others like it, it puts a smile on my face and takes me back to when music was FUN! I feel so bad that this generation has no good music like this, poor babies....a true 90's girl
Damn ... I remember watching this video when I was in 5th Grade on BET. Haven't seen it since ... thankx for the memories. Music will never be the same!
The lead singer in this song was so cute and his voice was amazing I remember watching him in Lean On Me he was the one I remembered bc I thought he was so fine & I'm 20 clearly I was born in the wrong decade hahaha
Yeah I remember when I was younger I used sang exactly their song while I rode a bus for closed weekends and holidays weeks from school(asd) since 92 but I miss the 90's..
Oh my Goodness..this is our HighSchool..MIKE..IMP..DWAYNE..KENNY..BUZZY..LOOK AT MIKE PIMPIN'..GO HEAD..PLAYBOYZ!blessings to your families..this was the good ole days..hehe..Imp,Dwayne tell ya momma Ms.Ruth, and Sister Carolyne, and niece Quaisha..B..said Thank you..and don't forget Crystal..this is the last of the videos i'm trying to watch of ya'..shoot' this is Shocking..i'm calling bra'in-law now..Oh and Dwayne sorry about the SLAP..we were in highschool..and you were a PLAYA'.lol!blessed b
You know what I appreciate about this group, above and beyond just their ability to sing their butts off? They were great dancers, the choreography is suspect, but this was during a time when your actual talent to sing was more important than how you looked in a video or whether or not you had some gimmick. But times were changing and, unfortunately, they didn't make it. I only remember two albums, both in my car. Did they ever make a third?
Samples: "Impeach the President" by The Honey Drippers (1973) (Drums) "Get Up Offa That Thing" by James Brown (1976) (Horns) "You'll Like It Too" by Funkadelic (1981) (Drums) There's one thing that baffles me with this tune: Funkadelic's "You'll Like It Too" (1981) (Drums) which is not on the Who Sampled website for the remix of this track. Can someone help?
oh my god. this song is so hard to find in mp3 format. this version does not appear on the riff album. beat is so dope compared to the original. ive been searching for this song in either cd or mp3 and no luck. this along with Troop's Sweet November remix, Good 2 Go's Never Satisfied Remix, and Troop's Attitude remix have to be the hardest New Jack tracks to find. thanks for uploading the video
I used to think the lead on this song was so fine, even in Lean in me. He was in a group later in his adult years, can't remember the name of the group, but he wasn't that cute anymore lol.
I always thought the one with the hazel eyes was soooo fine....anyone remember that they got famous by singing the Eastside High song in the bathroom in the movie "Lean on Me" with Morgan Freeman
if anybody has this version in mp3..hook a sista up! i had this song then somehow it got delete....i am lookin all over for this video version not the album version tho
This comes on VH1Soul every once in a while these days, but these version of the song is not available on mp3? This video version should have been on the album.
@smlz50 Are you still looking for this version of the song (the Narley Marley Mix)? If so, send me a message with your email address and I will email it to you.

I have to disagree with the reason of why they got overshadowed.
the 90s were so epic.. if you missed it- you missed it..❤️
So talented so underated they didnt get the credit or exposure they deserved it makes me sad because the music of today can't even measure to what we had growing up in the 90s
I gotta respect anyone who can do a back flip in a dance break 😂
My moms friend would always play this on repeat when we were driving around town back in 92. I was only 6 then and the song still never gets old!
Riff, one of the best groups back in the 90's. Every one of them cats could sang! I wish they'd have hung on longer. They had some serious talent.
