It's funny because when I first saw it, I didn't see the pins in the pin cushion. I actually thought the padded piece was to prop up your tablet or phone for people who read their pattern instructions online or wanted to sew along with tutorials. I may have to make one because i haven't been able to find anything l like to hold up my tablet. I agree with you that the taller one is preferable and the idea for a pocket on the back is an excellent one as it would be a great place to store my tablet when I wasn't using it. I'll have to think about which items I would like to use it for before I sew it because I actually have a bamboo "bathroom" caddy that I keep on my desk to hold many of my sewing tools. This was a great tutorial. Thank you for sharing.

Well I know what I am going to adding to my sewing project list this week.....THANK YOU..........I made one using the plastic picture frame (like you got thrifting) but it was to light and one bump and it would fall over. This caddy offers so much more pockets to keep items organized. Have you thought about making one out of your vinyl scraps?

I made two. However, I used notebook binder instead or cardboard for my frame, this was 4 yrs ago and they look great to this day.
